Bills preview on Good Morning Football

Recommended Posts

Just watched Kay, Nate, Kyle and Peter talk about the Bills upcoming season.  Generally positive reviews, Nate called Tre White a true shutdown corner, Peter talked about the receiving and its potential with the personnel they have, Kyle made some comments about how imperative it is to make your statement in the division by beating the Patriots and Kay talked about the QB situation and her thoughts on Josh Allen starting from day 1.

Great segment and well thought out and stated on all points.

Plus, Kay Adams is the most gorgeous of all the women in sports broadcasting.  Absolutely smoking  with great personality and every man's dream of knowing Sports and be beautiful.

Do guys really want women that know sports though? I think that we think we do until we actually get that. I dated a girl for almost a year who was a big sports fan loved football (soccer to you), rugby, tennis, horse racing..... but it seriously eats into your man time. You go to the pub to watch a game with your buddies and she is like "oh I'll come too", you book a race day and she wants to come along.... your Saturday afternoon in front of the football scores suddenly becomes "couple time".

Yea. I don't want that. A woman who doesn't hate sport so much that she tries to stop me watching it but doesn't love it so much that she always wants to be with me when I'm watching it.  That is the ideal balance.

I will agree Kay is smokin', but I want to watch a game in peace. I would rather she acts like sports are the plague, and avoids them at all costs. Gotta have separate interests, and spend significant time apart- anything else is too much and cutting into sports time does not sound appealing at all.

I do understand your perspective.  My ex-wife hated sports but initially tolerated my enjoyment of watching and going to games, but over time started to resent me not giving her the attention all of the time.

Happily divorced for 15 years, been with present g/f for 10 years, we don't live together and she's a huge Bronco fan and enjoy football Sundays at my place, her place or one of bars in San Diego.  She's knowledgeable, very pretty even dressed head to toe in Bronco gear and makes my Sundays during football season amazing.

So I've seen it both ways and prefer the current situation to the previous

Having tried the alternative I wholeheartedly agree.

I don't think that's a sports knowledge issue but often a respect issue.  She has to respect and acknowledge that friends or alone time is just as important as couple time for everybody.  I think one of the problems of the modern man across all racial and age lines is loneliness and the lack of male friends as we get older.

Possibly, but I don't think she meant any ill by it and I didn't really realise while it was happening that it was annoying me. The realisation often comes later. I think your last line is true - and I see that in my dad certainly. I am also terrible at relationships generally.  They involve compromise and I am rubbish at compromise.

This 100% accurate.

My wife cared nothing for football when we met and eventually into year 3 of our marriage she was invested enough to actually suggest we get seasons..... cool right??? RIGHT???? Had to be....

well its been 3 years since then and while I love that we share a huge common interest now, I’ve been to only ONE freaking game without her since then. And you don’t tell your wife “i’d rather you sit this one out.” Buddies headed to the sport bar for games? If I say i’d like to head out with them I’m met with “Well I like football too ya know! ITS FINE. I’ll watch here on my own”. SMH.

Then last year all my buddies thought it would be funny to invite her into our annual Fantasy Football league when a spot opened up..... and guess who she freaking beat week 1?

An ugly side effect of feminism.

Sounds like a good situation, you just need to step up your fantasy game.

Have you tried doubling back on her, Gunner?

For example maybe you could start watching "Say Yes To The Dress" or "Real Housewives of Whatever" or even "The View".  That way she might lose interest in hanging out with you.

Just to be sure to have your phone or ipad with you to stay in contact with TBD.

EDIT:

The clincher:

Have your knees folded up underneath on your couch with a knit blanket over you while eating bon-bons and having a good cry while watching "Beaches".

Haha we parted on good terms.  She is a media law barrister though and it was early in her career. She is making fortunes now I could have been a kept man. Darn it.

She didn't really watch any of those shows. She did watch America / Britain's Next Top Model but that was about the only trash TV she watched.

What can I say. She must have been taking good notes watching me the previous 6 years. But I’m being bit dramatic. All too often couples can’t find fun common interests. And grow apart completely. Ours are fitness(we own and operate our own gym) and bills football. I can think of a lot worse problems to have in a marriage than my wife wanting to enjoy football games with me. Haha.

Back on topic.... the OP heard schrager completely different than what I did. He had nothing good to say about the wt’s at all. And honestly.... neither do I yet

I found a good balance. My wife loves coming to the games because I love coming to the games. She likes tailgating and all that. But she knows I just want to watch the game. She only asks non football related questions during commercials.

During football season I get the TV Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and she can make me watch some stupid BS show the rest of the week in exchange for uninterrupted football time.

Also this wasn’t a preview really. It’s a segment they call “road to recovery” and I’m slightly annoyed that we made the list at all because we are the first playoff team they decided to feature and needed recovering. I guess we’ll see if they feature other playoff teams in the future.
