I also suffer from this and actually have a Veterans disability rating that is associated with it (from some things I experienced while serving in the Air Force)

 

It is a real thing and I sympathize with those that have it.......I work a job that requires me to be social. 

 

Cant stand crowds

Am very claustiphobic especially in big crowds

I have panic attacks

NEVER do I go out and have my back to a door....I always need to know who is coming and going

and on and on and on
