Top 16 All Time QB's According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com

Recommended Posts

Yeah kellys numbers are a bit pedestrian compared to guys on the list but it was a more balanced league back then. We had thurman thomas, a league mvp, kelly didnt have to throw 50 times every game.

Brady is the best of all time unfortunately but these numbers today are a bit inflated too. You cant touch the qb without the laundry being thrown or maul the wr's off the line anymore. You have to remember that and factor it in

I'm replacing Bradshaw and Aikman with Rodgers and Young and adding Fouts and then giving the list a reshuffle.

Good thinking.  I'll trade you my extra Rob Johnson and Doug Flutie cards for the Fouts and Dennis Miller cards.

Putting a guy like Otto freaking Graham at No. 4 overall is crazy.

Was he dominating in his era?  Absolutely!

Is that era ridiculously primitive and outdated by modern standards?  Absolutely!

You can't compare players in any sport from different eras.

I would not put any QB from that long ago in the top 10, I don't think.

The list was for the greatest QBs in NFL history so your attempt to add USFL into the converation is meaningless.

If you're so hung up on the USFL reference then disregard it. I still think the rest of the points I made are valid and I completely disagree with your assessment of the quarterback listings. Happy to further discuss my points if you like.
