Chuck “The Coach” Dickerson Needs His Own Bills Podcast

So, when he called often another Dudley Doright, Caspar Milquetoast, That Little Pimple, etc., he was actually talking about himself, as he knew he was the one doing wrong, talked with a loud mouth and bullied others, and as he knew was far from being a little guy.

What did he often say - "You can't make chicken salad out of chicken s***."  As you said, his shtick could grow old quickly.

Can we have him teamed up with Jerry Glanville?

If you're going to torture the masses, put him with Shtupp.  Probably wouldn't be long before the sounds of someone being strangled would be heard.  Next week:  A special edition infomercial with Brady's 'nutrition specialist'.

In the early days of internet radio broadcasts I didn't have a computer yet, so I got WebTV so that when I got home I could listen to The Coach's daily show on WGR.

During his time on the radio the Bills went from an AFC dynasty to a non-playoff team.  I thought he was pretty funny & a catharsis for the bad play on the field.

He's much funnier to listen to when the team is in decline than when (hopefully) they are on the rise.

If you're going to propose a podcast with Dickerson, might as well go all the way & have Jerry Sullivan join him.

Back in the day, I used to go to every Bills home game.  One time I was driving back to Albany with Petrino & we called Coach up after a late season game (I think it was Donahoe's last home game) where it had snowed & I had security come down because right below our seats was the roof of the indoor seats & I wrote "Fire Mularkey" in the snow and they made me erase it.  Coach asked if I had written it in yellow.

Another memory of the Coach is when a caller said something he really liked, he adopted it as if he was the originator.  After a Bills loss a caller phoned in & called a play "4th & stupid".  Soon afterwards the Coach used that phrase often, as if he was the one who originally said it.

I’m not defending the guy - he caused a lot of havoc in my life.  But he had some great sources and some incredibly interesting insight that he shared off air.  Want a new scapegoat for SB XXV?  Try “dumber than a bag of hammers” Walt Corey.  Dickerson told a story about how he screamed at Corey in the showers at halftime of that Super Bowl b/c Corey was calling defenses the team hadn’t practiced or used for months.

Great except that defense held the Giants to 10 points at halftime and had a Safety.

If Dickerson was complaining about the defense in that game - he needed to look in the mirror because the offense forgot to show up after blowing up the previous game.

If he complained the next year - he might have a point as Washington just man handled the Bills, but he also had a special place in that because although they were told to provide no bulletin board material - he went out and got quoted making all the pig noises and insulting the Washington OL - which was seen as a huge issue and lead to his firing.

He did have good sources because he had built some friends on the team, but those started evaporating as the offense and defensive coaches and front office starting changing, but he kept acting like he had sources.

the Giants ran the clock out from the first minute that game, so of course the D was going to look great with statistics and statistics cherry picking

Ha...I found my coach mask the other day.

The guy knows a lot of stuff but he's so the "get of my lawn" guy.

That said, I did find him interesting and somewhat entertaining.  He wasn't afraid to speak his mind and I liked that about him.

They actually were together.  Schopp's whole thing on WNSA was "sports talk for smart people" and putting down Coach as the buffoon and blowhard that he is................Then he moves to GR and is paired with  him...............It was so hypocritical to me.

What a no-talent.  I remember one time he encouraged people to fight in the parking lot.  No thanks. He's so stupid he couldn't even come up with his own catchphrase  "Who loves ya, baby?"  Answer:  NOBODY.
