There is nothing NP can do. He isn't talented enough. He has always worked hard, but the faults in his game are not there because he hasn't worked hard they are there because he simply wasn't born with what it takes to be a starting Quarterback in the National Football League. That might be a hard message to hear but that is the truth.

Josh Allen has gifts that Peterman doesn't and never will posses. He has to outperform Allen every practice, every game and every meeting to stay ahead. He did that week 1 of pre-season but it was never going to be sustainable because talent wins.

Being the backup the whole season is actually Nate's best route to staying on the Bills beyond this season. If he starts he will be exposed again and as much as McDermott clearly likes him he will be forced to accept the truth. The kid isn't talented enough.

I heard this in the media a few weeks back.

If a guy is on an NFL roster then that guy has talent enough to be there.

Talented enough to start was what I said. Not talented enough to be on a roster. He is certainly talented enough to be on a training camp 90.  For me he is a borderline talent for an in-season 53. He is certainly not talented enough to be an NFL starter.

I'm not saying Nate is starting material.

The rotating arguments go round and round and people dig their feet in deeper and soon we get people saying half the board hates Josh and the other half will say Nate doesn't even belong holding a clipboard.

Our new rookie has a message for us ...

But you chose to object to a post where I said he is not talented enough to be a starter. That seems odd.

it was convenience.   Your post just happened to be on the current page.

If I read I said  "he is not starter material" instead of "he's not talented enough",  I may have blown past the post.

It is what it is. You don’t win titles on the back of Rudy. We certainly should NEVER want the guy with less talent to play. It lowers your ceiling as a team.  It’s time to start embracing talent and stop always fighting for the underdog. It’s a new day!!

Yeah but, the Bills are usually thought of as the underdog....

what to do?

Can I add it's time to stop saying the Bills will only win 4 games and the Browns will have more wins?

well my opinion is just that....an opinion. i've been watching this team since 1973 and have seen a few young qbs thrown into bad situations where as otherwise they may have grown to become good. i hate to see guys thrown to the wolves because of the price / or draft pick that was paid. again, just my opinion.

Isn't Peterman a young QB that was "thrown to the wolves" last year......was he ruined and why then do some prefer him over Allen?

I believe the Browns will have more wins. I was at the sports book the other day Sunday and they are projected to have more wins than the Bills (6.5 to 6). It is by no means a crazy statement. Casinos didn’t get those big buildings by losing.

The Bills have been underdogs. The one time, in my lifetime, when they weren’t thought of like that was the early 90’s. They were a juggernaut. That’s the best time in franchise history. We had HOF players, coaches, owners and executives. We need to drop the insecure underdog mentality that way too many have embraced and start acting like we belong. Let’s add star players and compete for titles. Let’s be the guy that shoves nerds in lockers. I’m just over trying to be mediocre.

The playoff monkey is gone. The only thing that matters is working towards a championship. If it means 4 wins and Allen developing, so be it. The Eagles just took that route and already have a trophy to show.

but what about extra draft picks? I thought that was most important......I miss the mentality of the 90s.....especially fans today who don't want late season home games....when the schedule would come out I would hope for home games in Dec....opponents hated coming here and we loved it

He was annointed the seasons starter and left there. He's bounced back big from last year's bad spots and that deserves respect.

I wasn't disrespecting him.....I just don't see him as a better choice than Allen....

I have no interest in cheering for 60 yard out of bounds passes

But you cheer for dropped pick sixes and blown coverages? This is definitely the weirdest set of opinions I've seen this year. The number of times you've brought up Josh Allen's first ever pass in a preseason game is very odd.

But don't you dare judge Peterman based on a half of football!

Back in the 90’s a friend of mine (a Colts fan) thought the Bills were overrated.

We we had a standing friendly bet $1 per week against the spread. Neither of us won more than $2 by the end of the seasons
