[Incomplete Title] Sabres (21-12-5) & NHL 2018-19 - Game 39 (MSG-B) vs. BOS (20-14-4) at 7 PM ET on 12/29

Can we please hire someone who can teach our centers how to win more faceoffs?  O'Reilly is the only center in recent memory who could dominate the dot.  I swear we trade  3 or 4 quality scoring opportunities per game because we can't consistently win a draw at either end of the ice.

Wtf. They are just falling apart in the 3rd. 6-2 flyers... unreal. 6 straight goals for Philly. They are just embarrassing Buffalo at this point.

Looking like this will be loss #5 in a row. Buffalo has to get their **** together pretty quick or that entire cushion of points they built will slip away in the blink of an eye.

Technically 10-3-2 in last 15 games.

Yeah, bad second half of game... 3rd period.

The lack of secondary scoring is becoming evident. Mittlestadt seems to be fading. Is this youngster fatiguing because he has never played so many games in such a short time span?  Other than Okposo or maybe Sheary I don't know who is going to put it into the net. What's also noticeable is that Pomminstein away from the Jack line has been neutralized. The only other option to compensate for the impotence of the secondary lines is for our defesemen to be more aggressive on offense.

Even though they looked really bad today, they also looked really good in just their last game they played against Toronto which is one of the top teams in the NHL.  From what I have been reading on social media etc. they is way too much over analyzing going on right now.  We are still a super young team and we knew there were going to be some bumps in the road but we are still heading in a great direction.  Not worried at all.

Local media look like fools now for blowing their loads about this team on the radio every day.  Flashback to a few Bills seasons where they started out hot then fell off the map.

It's an 84-game season. 5 game losing streak is not falling off the map.

Paul Hamilton has talked about this as well, but I thiink Sabres have had a lead in 7 games now of 8( Nashville excluded$ and spit it every time. They win 2 of those , but a disturbing trend to be sure.

Housley on the hot seat!

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or expressing your opinion. But if this season ended now in a short-circuited season Housley would be under serious consideration for coach of the year. Botterilll has done a tremendous job in upgrading the roster from last year. The team has gone from being the worst in the NHL to being the biggest surprise story in the league. Yet, the reality is that this roster still needs requires patience for its young players to mature and develop. And it has to be acknowledged that this is still not a complete roster.

As it currently stands there is not enough secondary scorers outside of the first line. (That's obvious.) That puts a lot of pressure on that primary line. Will the GM go outside for scoring help or will he be patient and hope that internal growth from this roster and its Rochester farm club be enough to sustain the team for now? My sense is that for the most part Botterill is going to rely on his in-house assets within the organization rather than deal off assets to get different assets to balance out the roster. Sometimes when the team is undergoing some struggles under the fog of the immediate situation we lose sight of the optimistic picture of the big picture. Let's stay the course.
