Buffalo Bills begin mandatory minicamp Tuesday: top storylines, position battle to watch

The Buffalo Bills begin their mandatory minicamp in Orchard Park today and all 90 players are expected to be in attendance. OTAs are in the rear-view mirror and training camp is a month away so this week’s camp is the last time we are going to see the players for a while.

The Bills are planning on taking the field at noon on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and media members are able to be in attendance each of the three days (unlike OTAs when only one day a week had media access). Head coach Sean McDermott will speak before practice on Tuesday and Thursday.

As Bills get set for 3-day minicamp, will Allen see snaps with first team?

The Bills will hold their three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday through Thursday this week, bringing to a close their spring offseason program.  After Thursday’s session, the next time players convene as a team will be at St. John Fisher in Rochester for training camp in late July.

From McDermott's words, it sounds like Allen will see time with the 1st team during training camp.

Yep. They have been bringing him up to speed as fast as possible to make up the three week gap.  He'll definitely be in the competition to become the starter.

Cover 1: Highlighting the Top Storylines to Follow at Bills’ Minicamp
The Buffalo Bills wrapped up their OTAs last week and begin minicamp on Tuesday. While the pads aren’t on during OTAs, there were a handful of players that caught the eye of the coaching staff, while we were able to get a glimpse at how the early pecking order on the depth chart looked. Buffalo underwent significant roster turnover during the offseason and as expected, all eyes were on both of their first-round draft picks, Josh Allen and Tremaine Edmunds.

But as the real competition begins, here are the top storylines Bills fans should follow throughout minicamp.

How quickly will Josh Allen move up the depth chart?
Can Shaq Lawson finally put it together?
Bills’ Tremaine Edmunds managing enormous expectations
Who will step up at wide receiver?
