So far, I don’t really care for the new app. I am having an issue where when I start listening to a segment on demand, but then get out of my car, it doesn’t keep my spot.  I listen in my car on my way to work, or driving around at work, but then use headphones when I get out of the car.  Basically, I listen continuously throughout the day.  But I have to start the podcast over and try to find my place where I left off.

With the old app, that would only happen if I left the app for hours and came back.  This new app resets to the beginning as soon as I switch from one device to another (car to headphones).

I’ll survive because I’m not lazy, but it is annoying since I’m not used to having to do that.

I 100% agree with that..but the option to download is nice. While it still does not stay at the exact spot, i have noticed it does not go all the way back to the beginning.

My one question is how to delete episodes. There is a setting to auto delete played episodes, but I have some in there I will never play. Any help appreciated

Money. The answer to every question about why a company does something is money. It has zero to do with user experience, in fact the experience usually gets worse because the intent is to find ways to monetize your experience. I suspect this thing is loaded with adds, popups and in-app commercials during the show while also subjecting you to the show's commercials. Old app sucked as well, stopped using that. Cut out all the time. So I get a few minutes a week in the car. Good enough.

Ads have not been on the podcast/on demand side..and have not noticed anything in app in regards to ads.

I have listened live a few times, and it seemed like maybe ads would pop up there not on the radion side..but i could be wrong on that.

And i think this does come down to money..but not just in that way. Entercom I am sure just wanted one app to maintain instead of each of their owned stations have their own app. For instance, WEEI in Boston just did the exact same thing. BTW, Entercom/CBS own radio.com as well.
