Can't Hack it: Eagles cut QB Christian Hackenberg

A third team has given up on the Christian Hackenberg experience.

The Philadelphia Eagles waived the embattled former second-round quarterback, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Friday, one day after his lone preseason game with the club. Matt Lombardo of The Star-Ledger first reported the news.

Pelissero added that fellow backup quarterback Joe Callahan was also waived. Carson Wentz, Nick Foles and Nate Sudfeld will make up Philadelphia's QB room.

I certainly hope that is true. By all accounts a great guy and a dozen years as an NFL QB (starting or not) can give you a very nice start on the rest of your life!

...great assessment and testament Augie......great kid....great work ethic...great teammate.....lacked in ability to process reads/progressions timely like so many do.....had zero confidence and was thrown to the wolves in a less than desirable career start...TT struggled with the same but probably minus the self confidence part.....too much was made of his four year pine time" behind Flacco IMO.....pretty much started from square one upon arrival.....both good kids and hope they both succeed...those hating on a couple of kids trying to fulfill their lifelong dreams?....purely pathetic.....
