Has a 1st or 2nd round QB you disliked been successful?

It's a message board full of opinions.

Yep.  Mine is to quit whining like a little kid and actually see how players play football.

Derek Carr comes to mind. I didn’t think that he’d be awful but didn’t think that he’d be good. He’s better than I expected.

That was the first name that came to my mind. I just saw a few games in college, and didn’t think much of him. Not that he’s GREAT, but he’s much better than I thought.

I can't think of any but have a good idea why the OP started the thread.

I guess the truth hurts, they didn't draft rosen and I'm really glad they didn't and look forward to allen leading the offense.

they made the right pick.

That’s the irony of it. I’m not even sure that Carr is that good. I think that he’s a middle of the league type of starter. That’s better than I expected but I’m not sure that he’s a guy that you can win championships with. He’s a good QB.

I will see. Close the website until August? Only post stuff that makes us feel happy?

Nope.  Quit incessantly putting up post after post complaining about the same thing.

Don’t recall off hand.

But there are countless QBs I liked that crapped the bed.

I don't think I'm the one complaining here.

Tannyhill turned out better than I expected.

oh and Cam- I thought he’d be a total bust. 100% wrong. Wish he fell to 3 that year.

Dalton and Tannehill both exceeded my expectations.

Not sure if Jameis counts, but he's better than I thought he'd be.  I don't have strong takes on all incoming QBs, though.  And my list of "guys I thought would be good but busted" is pretty long.  Recent negative takes:

Josh Allen

Jameis Winston

Blake Bortles

Johnny Manziel

Ryan Tannehill

Brandon Weeden

Jake Locker

Blaine Gabbert

Christian Ponder

Tim Tebow

You were right on most. I would say most people pick the bad QBs pretty well. It's harder picking the good ones.

Disliked?

Im trying to remember a player that I openly "disliked"

Sounds much like certain fans didnt get the player they wanted and are still sulking.   Time to get over it sir.

Derek Carr would be mine.  Still don't think he's as good as some think, but he's way better than I ever thought he'd be.

On the other end, thought RGIII was going to be great, bust city.

Well the flip side is QB's you liked that turned out bad. Plenty of those too.

There's just no knowing for sure.

Only a handful of QBs drafted over the last 10 years have turned out to be any good so it's a pretty meaningless question.

The draft experts claimed that Goff and Wentz were two of the worst QBs prospects every drafted with a top 2 pick

I know that QBASE didn't like Wentz.

Thought trading up for Wentz was a mistake...Philly quickly proved they were right haha.  It's all about fit on the team IMO.  I think any QB can be molded if they have the right attitude and work ethic and I think Allen has that.

DeShaun Watson

Me too. He was much better last year than I would have thought. That being said it was just one year and it ended with a knee injury so the jury is still out.

Peyton Gump, arguably the greatest regular season QB ever.

I didn't really like Bortles. He's doing pretty good.
