dpberr
I still find it ironic politicians will lose their minds over legalizing prostitution but are a-ok with legalizing all sorts of things related to alcohol, weed, firearms, gambling, etc. All your vices belong to us. - government Edited May 14, 2018 by dpberr

The one scene where the stripper said she owned four condos...had nothing to do with "gambling" at a local casino or placing a $20 bet on a game. Had to do with her decision (like millions of others in 2008) to buy a $400,000 house on a $50,000/year income. Saratoga Springs, NY has a beautiful horse track and attracts millions of spectators each year. They also have a casino/slots. The housing market is vibrant. I just don't believe there is a clearly defined correlation between gambling/sports betting and foreclosures.

Google them and you will see the same results time after time. No one really refutes it. They just all go along as gov't and local gov't profit off of it without realizing or caring(?) that it cost as much or more to deal with the problems then they get back. This is why locals hold out for an enormous rights fee paid to local gov't when casino is interested in locating in their areas. If they know if it is inevitable they are coming to at least get an early pay day. Edited May 14, 2018 by cba fan

The simple reason is rural areas don't generate tax revenue like urban areas do. In fact I'd be willing to bet the opposite is true. People in Buffalo like to think that they are supporting New York City with taxes. The fact is NYC carries the rest of the state. They aren't hookers if you film it. They are actresses.

You can thank NJ and his arch-nemesis Chris Christie for getting SCOTUS, not POTUS, to rule PASPA as unconstitutional.
