Bills UDFA signings & Rookie minicamp invitees

A little nugget in Robert Foster and Levi Wallace...

In 2015, Foster was THE man at wideout after having won the job during fall camp. Us Bama fans were super excited about his potential...5 star recruit,  blazing fast,  he was the heir apparent to Amari Cooper. Early in the season he suffered a torn rotator cuff diving for the ball... it required season ending surgery.  Another young receiver,  Calvin Ridley, grabbed the reigns and never let them go...

Levi Wallace is a great story.  His Dad was military,  but grew up inTuscaloosa, al. When it got time for Levi to go to school,  his dad wanted him to visit Bama, where he decided to walk on.  After a couple of years grinding,  he was awarded a scholarship and wonn the starting job at CB. Last year the day before the spring game, his father succumbed to lou gherigs (i think). The family had decided not to tell Levi until afterwards,  as it was his big moment to finally start. Unfortunately he found out about his dad's passing from all the condolences on his Twitter feed.  He decided to play the game and ended up being manned one of the mvps....

...have to see how BB plays his cards.......

I expect BB to screw over Gilislee, know full well he is going to release him but not do it until the last minute or cuts to screw the player and the Bills, knowing they will likely want him. We still should sign him on eve of season. His agent should demand release now.

Blurb from Walter Football on Mike Love:

SouthFlorida_logo.gif Mike Love, DE, South Florida
Love is another South Florida player who sources mentioned as a sleeper prospect on the rise. They say that Love (6-4, 260) is going to ignite some third-day interest because he has enough size, a great motor, and some quickness. In 2017, Love has 21 tackles with 10 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks and two passes broken up. They say that Love has disruptive spurts and has some experience standing up, so he has some scheme flexibility.

The same Jaire that got torched by Proehl for 120 yds last year. By our 7th rd pick that some here were considering to be nepotism.

Kind of a small list so far. How many more do you think will be brought in. Seems like the cream of the crop goes in the first 24 hours.

Agreed! I have seen the Bills grab many more guys in the past.

play him as an H-back and toss him the rock. No one's gonna stop him

He is the Aussie 2018 Fridge and should be a goal line specialist. Put him in 5 yards back and the whole Defense would need to stack the line. If he got it look out and if not throw a pass to a wide open TE.

....LMAO!...Bobo and the coco butt............

Lets not forget Wahoo McDaniel now...5 time NWA champ!   In his football days had 23 tackles in one game with the Jets vs the Broncos.  PA Announcer would say “tackle by guess who?”.....crowd would yell Wahoooooo!!!

I am surprised as well........the 3rd RB job here is perhaps the most winnable in the NFL you'd figure they would get one in UDFA.

But with an influx of good young backs maybe we see some vets get cut loose.

I do think Ray Ray can do some of the third down back stuff the Pats always ask their backs too do. He was a running back in high school and about the same size as a guy like Dion Lewis or Kevin Faulk. I feel like that's what they do with Ray Ray...3rd back, some slot, and returns.

People need to realize that many of these UDFA players that teams find are actually from other teams rosters from previous years signings.  Just because isn't here now doesn't mean he won't contribute here in future.  Example would be Eric Lee of NE.  A guy like Breon Borders is someone who could contribute this year

After the higher cost rookies are accounted for and leaving some cap cushion that Beane mentioned, that leaves 5 or 6 million that could

still be used on free agents.  I still would like to see him pick up 1-2 offensive players.

Actually, I don’t know about that Colorado. Please, I may be wrong but did you factor in that ONLY the top 51 salaries are part of the cap?

none of these free agents are likely to effect the cap.

That said, I believe we will be in the 10-11 million dollar range for available salary.

What I'm getting at is Bill's got 18 million right now.

After rookie signing (deferring lower cost players will cost around 5 million) that leaves 13 million.

Beane had said he wants 7 million or so as a buffer.

That leaves 5-6 million.

Yeah good point I am wondering if that might be the plan with Ray Ray.

As a receiver he is not a particularly impressive prospect but if he can come out of the backfield that short area quickness would be a lot more effective.   After they took Proehl the Ray Ray pick made less sense as a slot.

Not sure if I could ever trust a Trappasso analysis ever again. His Mason Rudolph love makes me question his ability and his logic. His #1 QB, the sixth one taken, and in the mid third round.

The Steelers are insisting they had a 1st rd grade on Rudolph
