Bills aggressively trying to get ahead of Jets

Recommended Posts

The trade partner that the New York Giants might just be seeking could be a team looking to move up in the draft above their crosstown rivals.

The Buffalo Bills might just be the team that lets the Giants move back in the draft, a source tells Metro. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the source said that the Bills “are eager to move up in the draft and get into the top three picks,” a line that is similar to the speculation that has come out of Buffalo in recent weeks. The only likely scenario there would be a trade with the Giants who hold the second overall pick in the first round of Thursday’s NFL Draft.

The Bills need a quarterback and one of USC’s Sam Darnold, Wyoming’s Josh Allen, Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and UCLA’s Josh Rosen would be there for the Bills at No. 2. If they crave one of those quarterbacks, they could well overpay to move up.

A possible trade with the Giants would then see Buffalo move past their AFC East counterpart the New York Jets, who last month traded with the Indianapolis Colts, sending the sixth overall pick along with three second-round picks (two selections from this draft and one in 2019) to trade up to the No. 3 pick.

If this is true and the Giants are dealing, Bills will have outbid the Jets.  It's a problem for the Jets because they dont n have a second round pick to package with their third pick overall. Bills have the assets to outbid them.

The Bills are going to have to overpay. But it will be worth it, especially with all of that cap space next year. If you have the man under center, someone people believe can take a team to the promised land, I guarantee that free agents will notice.

Giants will not trade with their cross-town rival. never have.

Why would the Bills do this unless they have good idea who the NYJets want,  Baker Mayfield??

Its either Mayfield or Rosen assuming Darnold goes 1. If they think Jets want who they want then it makes sense

I think it's time for the Internet to be Dead to me.  At least until Thursday night...  This is ridiculous - speculation of complete chaos as to what will/will not happen depending on who is reporting.  I cannot recall ANY other draft with this much hype, it is because we have a decent crop of QBs and a plethora of teams who need a decent QB.

It is unfortunate that timing does not allow the team to see how AJ works with teammates prior to the draft.  We could have our QB already on the roster.

Dropping 1 spot for an extra pick or 2 would be an easy decision, unless the Giants want a QB.

....just a hunch Gettleman wants the Barkley kid and rides Eli for (MAX) two more years.....Giants running game was usually formidable yesteryear and Eli hasn't been able to do squat with "Reese's pieces".......surprised Mara kept him around..............

The Giants would love nothing more than to move back 10 spots and miss out on Eli’s heir. It’s not happening. The Bills will stay at 12 and draft who falls, because someone always does, and sit at 22 or trade that one back up into the 10s.

I just don’t see it happening, and the ransom is too high.

So we actually get the guy we want instead of  pretending we love what’s left. I want us to go to 1 or 2. I literally don’t care what the cost is. Whatever it costs, it won’t be worse then 25 years of not having a QB.
