This was the early years and SW Florida didn’t have many hockey fans. You could sit anywhere you wanted, so we moved around and viewed from all different vantage points. One night, when they listed attendance as a couple thousand, but I doubt it was a hundred, a puck flies out into the almost vacant stands....and hits a lady in the forehead, splitting her open. Blood everywhere! It could have gone almost anywhere safely, but this poor lady.....like losing the lottery. Sure, if the place is packed someone is likely to get hit, but.... Outside of lucking into Fleury thanks to a loaded Penguins roster, the VGK performance is way above and beyond what it should have been. Their team on paper was not good. We are a tough team to play in a 7 game series... non-stop pressure and attacking in a 200ft game night after night really wears down a team. Jets looked GASSED that last period.
