Doesn’t make sense to me.  There’s a chance you can get Barkley at 4 and your number 1 QB....the most important position.  Any team that would roll the dice on their QB like that to choose a RB is in for a rough future imo.  The your favorite QB first and foremost.  Then take Barkley if the giants don’t or BChubb.  Then draft Michel or guice in rd 2.

The Giants IMO are for sure taking Barkley if Cleveland trys to wait till pick 4 for him. IMO it is a very smart move for Cleveland considering there might only be one of the 4 QBs taken leaving a choice of 3 to take at pick 4 while also having Barkley already on the roster. If Cleveland goes QB first and Giants take Barkley then Cleveland would go with  Chubb or trade out of 4 IMO . I really think Barkley at 1 is a no brainer and what they will do leaving pick 4 a choice of what QB is left, it is a nice trade off to get the best back and one of the top 2-4 QBs in this draft IMO. If Giants trade pick 2 to the Bills IMO Cleveland then would go QB knowing Bills/Jets go QB and they will get Barkley at 4.

It’s a no brainer if you like 3 QBs equally.  The giants could trade down with us if they take Barkley.  Top 2 QBs off the board.  If it’s your top 2, then it’s a mistake imo.  The consolation if Barkley gets snatched by the giants: they get Chubb or Nelson....and their number 1 QB.  Gambling on letting someone take your guy when you have the first pick is just crazy.  Unless you like 3 QBs equally.

The browns may not know of the giants are trading down or not.  If they don’t trade down prior to the draft, one cannot assume they won’t when they are on the clock.  Setting yourself up for failure making foolish assumptions.  They can trade down after the browns take Barkley. Then the browns get QB choice number 3. Why would you roll the dice on that?  It’s the most important position.

Man it can go so many ways. If Giants trade out and Buffalo comes in because of Cleveland going Barkley then Cleveland gets what's left at 4 after now 2 teams take QBs. What a crazy draft this is.

Isn't a QB the most important player on the field?

Maybe he thinks that Baker Mayfield is the best qb.  It would be absurd to take him number 1 so he took BPA

Why would it be absurd to take the best QB as your first pick?

Since it's a QB that is not regarded as one of the top 2 guys it makes sense. Giants aren't picking Mayfield and if you have a good idea that Jets like Allen then you know you can get your guy at 4. It's a risky move for sure but if they do their due diligence and they like Mayfield or Lamar Jackson the best then it is realistic that they could chance it and wait til 4 to get them

All the top 4-5 QB's have quite different strengths and weaknesses.  Some are potential head cases.  Some do everything pretty well.  Some have some injury problems.  Some are inaccurate (somehow that gets better when playing against pro cornerbacks).  Yet !!  All 4 are of equal ability here.  ???  I suspect the reason for that statement is to have to avoid making a decision as to who is the top dog.

From the time of OJ (1969) there have been 5 running backs drafted #1, most of them in the 1980's, which is about 30 years ago.

Bo Jackson          1986           that is 32 years ago.  almost a third of a century.

George Rogers    1981

E, Campbell          1978

Ricky Bell              1977

OJ                          1969.

In the time since OG, there have been 22 Quarterbacks drafted #1 and 12 defensive linemen.  5 running backs.  Might there be a reason?

Bc you know he will be there 2 picks later.

It would like being at a buffet and loading up on bacon even though the two people behind you are orthodox jewish.  You know what you want is safe so stock up on what they may want first.

Broncos select QB Sam Darnold

This surprises me a little, considering all their holes.  I’m curious, did you look at their forums or mocks first?

boy looking at the draft order and who is in front of me....  I don't know how I'm not taking Rosen at 11 :bag:

They for sure would take him at 11 IMO, I think Tanny is on his last year of his contract.

Could Rosen actually fall to Miami at 11? Mel Kiper defends his polarizing projection

Here’s how: “The only reason I dropped him was because I gave [Saquon] Barkley a 2.

Translation: Kiper believes the Giants will use the second overall pick on Barkley, the dynamic Penn State running back, and that Mayfield, not Rosen, will be the third quarterback off the board, behind Oklahoma State’s Josh Allen and USC’s Sam Darnold.

Understand that the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants, Denver Broncos, and possibly Pittsburgh Steelers are going to be searching for quarterback help this offseason. And, yes, so will the Dolphins.
