With the month of April arriving, the last of the spring tidbits will be served as the big summer movie season will soon take off. However, this year the month of April got a surprise as the biggest anticipated movie of the summer(probably the year)was given a bump up from May. This has caused a lot of scrambling by other movie studios to re-position their respective films into earlier or later release dates. No question that some of these movies may not garner as much of a profit as they originally expected, but that's how the movie business is. There are plenty of good offerings this month for moviegoers, but nothing rivals what will be released at the end of the month, as the Summer movie season gets an early kickoff.

It all began in 2008. Paramount Pictures, Marvel Studios, director Jon Favreau and actor Robert Downey Jr. gave us "Iron Man". The hope was to bring the Marvel superhero team, known as The Avengers, to the silver screen. Using individual origin movies of each character, that would then lead to the climactic team up. The plan worked. "Iron Man" was a big box office hit and the other films were well received. Since that moment, Disney purchased Marvel, and the series referred to as the Marvel Cinematic Universe was alive. After 18 movies in this series, the penultimate story has now arrived. Disney & Marvel present "Avengers: Infinity War". The Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hiddleston, Elizabeth Olson, Paul Bettany, Idris Elba, Zoe Saldana, Don Cheadle, Dave Bautista, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Benicio del Toro, Jon Favreau, Karen Gillan, Letitia Wright, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Pom Klementieff, Danai Gurira, Linda Cardellini, Kerry Condodn, the voices of Bradley Cooper & Vin Diesel, & Josh Brolin.

Yes, there are other movies this month.....

Dwayne Johnson stars in the video game based "Rampage". Primatologist Davis Okoye shares an unshakable bond with George, the extraordinarily intelligent gorilla who has been in his care since birth. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster. As these newly created monsters tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend. Also starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman & Joe Manganiello.

Emily Blunt stars in, "A Quiet Place". A family is forced to live in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound. Also starring John Krasinski, Noah Jupe & Millicent Simmonds.

I really want "A Quiet Place" to be good, but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

I believe you will be satisfied. From what I have been able to discern, it is well done. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Infinity War should be nothing short of spectacular! Super Troopers looks to deliver laughs on that familiar level. and A Quiet Place looks like, i am really hoping, it is going to be incredibly suspenseful. i played Rampage as a kid, so i am assuming there should be some nostalgic laughs and a lot of destruction.

I'm seeing "A Quiet Place" tonight (Friday) 4/6

Just got back, I loved it, pretty damn scary! Ready Player One in IMAX 3D this week was amazing, but it's hard to say which one I liked more.

I want to see You Were Never Really Here so badly but it's not playing anywhere near here.

Let's see who will be the one to make the blatantly obvious yet horrible pun.

It's getting good reviews. Other than that who knows?

A friend of mine saw it and said it wasn't worth the money, but everything I've seen online has said it's good.  I'll probably wait to stream it.

The only complaint I've heard is sound-related: so much of the movie is so quiet but the loud parts are deafening if you're in an RPX or similar theater.

I kinda enjoyed "Quiet Place" Mark

Simple enough story. Well directed. The atmosphere was well done. I bet the actors liked working on it. Didn't have to remember any lines!

Thanks, I'd like to see this movie.
