Making the case for Lamar Jackson

I am glad that people are starting to see that Jackson is just not a very good passer.  He misses a lot of throws and has real trouble passing outside the hashes.  I really feel like a lot of people who are high on him, are that way because of Jeremy White and Mike Schopp, who really don't know what they are talking about.  Schopp just wants to go against the grain no matter what it is.  About 6 weeks ago, White was talking about Jackson being a top 5 pick, the guy is clueless.  Then you have Howard Simon who agrees with everything White says, and Bulldog who agrees with everything Schopp says, reinforcing the beliefs among the fan base, much of whom have probably never watched a full game of Lamar Jackson or maybe just his highlights.

This needle has not moved

the same uninformed people are still parroting the same bad information and latching onto anything and everything to prove their point

i don’t even listen to those commentators that you mention my points are

there are 3 better qbs in this draft

we currently are not in a position to get one

we need to have a plan in case we don’t get one of them

we cannot come out of this draft without a guy

lj represents the best of the next tier

There is ABSOLUTELY a case for him

AT this current point in time we are not in a position to get better out of this draft

That could change.....or it might not change at all

IF that happens....you are looking at a guy like Mike White if you dont take Lamar Jackson....who has a lot to like as a QB especially if you are willing to take your time with him

How many times do McD and Beane have to emphasize they want a pocket passer.

They're not drafting Jackson.

If they're a couple of great poker players, then those emphatic claims are probably a bunch of baloney.

Those claims would concern me greatly if I were a huge Rosen guy. For Jackson guys like me, I'm feeling much less concerned that they don't want Jackson.

Clearly I am not in the Jackson camp - I started a whole thread against him.

Sorry dude, but you and others making this claim can't be serious. There is certainly a case for a talented QB playing in Buffalo.

.....a difficult call to figure out what McBeane/McD/McDaboll are thinking offensively.....assume generically that Jackson and TT are similar mobility styles......was TT traded because his style did not fit?....or was his style acceptable but his substance within that style was the reason?....who the hell knows.......if TT's style was not the issue, then Jackson probably fits and has a bigger "substance" upside from what I am reading as a non-collegiate ball watcher.....OR....is this gang looking for a more prototypical pocket passer type with some mobility skills as needed?....OR........do they favor a spread/Air Raid type which they feel they can mold into someone successful under center as well as in the shotgun?.....picture seems to be clear as mud to me.......

Playing QB in the NFL is about making good decisions, and executing those decisions.

I have no doubt Jackson has the arm and legs to play in the NFL.  Although if he runs too much, those legs will be injured.  He doesnt have a core like Rothelesberger (?sp).

His decision making worries me.  A lot.

He played in the one read and run system.  Scan half the field, if the guys open, great, if not, then run.

And he is his own agent?  And mom is his manager?

These may turn out to be really wise decisions.  But history says no.

This guy doesnt make good decisions.

Coupled with an abysmal Wonderlic score....

Pass.

Fair enough, you don't believe One Bills Dr.

They are still not drafting Jackson, imo.

<Chris De Burgh's "Lady in Red" starts to play.  John from Riverside grabs the microphone>

I've never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright
I've never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They're looking for a little romance, given half a chance
And I have never seen that uni you're wearing
Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes
I have been blind
Lamar Jackson is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, it took my breath away
And I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight
Lamar Jackson is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There's nobody here, it's just you and me
It's where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I'll never forget the way you look tonight
I never will forget the way you look tonight
Lamar Jackson, Lamar Jackson
Lamar Jackson, my Lamar Jackson
I love you

What's with the ridiculous new trend on this board of just copying and pasting song lyrics and changing 2 or 3 words thinking it's really clever?

Has there been an inundation of junior high kids on this board no one told me about?
