We didn't make all those trades not to draft a QB

Recommended Posts

It seems everybody was on board to trade up for a quarterback. After the Jets traded up to #3, some posters are okay taking BPA with our draft picks.   I am not saying that's the wrong route to go. But ever since McDermott became head coach he had a plan (hence trading in draft last year for a 1st rd pick this year). When Beane was hired as GM he was certainly on board with the plan(hence trading sammy, darby, dareus, tyrod and glenn). Beane even stated himself, that in this league you need to find the franchise qb in order to be successful. It's easy to see the plan (process). Accumulate all the ammunition you need to trade up and get ur guy! And he did a great job setting us up for free agency next year. No matter if it's top 5 or the back half of 10 (1 or 2 qb's will slide), Beane will trade up and get the guy they want! Next year in free agency and draft we are in a great spot to fill out the roster, while our franchise qb (hopefully we get the right guy) is already on our roster.

The #1 part of "the process" is finding a franchise qb, and McBeane is hard at work for the last year to make this happen.

Trust the process!!

THIS DIDNT NEED ITS OWN THREAD !

I was debating to make this thread or not, but reading all the other threads about posters stating to go BPA, I  really didn't want to voice my opinion on 20 different threads, when I could just voice myself by starting a thread. I'm not looking to get much traction starting this thread, but it was a much easier way to go rather than commenting on every other thread.

Just because they may multiple picks in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd doesn't mean they will trade up.

Maybe getting those extra picks was more about putting the Bills in a great position to be able to take a gamble on a QB in the 1st, in what is considered a deep QB class...

They can easily spend a 1st on a QB this year without much risk, since they still have another 1st + two 2nds, two 3rds etc. Where as in years where they only have 1 pick per round, gambling a 1st on a QB is a bigger risk and maybe something they choose not to do.

Or maybe instead of trading up they use 2 picks on 2 different QBs... (unlikely if they still like Peterman a lot, but who knows).

That's def something to think about. Good insight, on a different perspective. As it sits now, I feel 1 or 2 qb's will fall, we will move up but not for a crazy price, and fill in the roster with the remaining picks best as possible

Why not just relax and see what happens.  Stop talking about franchise QBs as if they were an item you buy at the store.

I only stated what Beane has said, I'm not just making up random ****. No matter what happens I'm gonna support and cheer for the bills!!

Well, that sounds like a lot of fun over the next 6 weeks......  Just sit back and relax.  No need to talk about the most important position in sports at all..........

No it’s fine for you to start your own threads.  The thread nazi’s here at BBMB are starting to come out.

Dont pay one ounce of attention and start as many threads as you want.  This is a message board for crying out loud!

Dude says he didnt want to post his opinion in the 20 existing threads, so he made a 21st. Proof right there of too many threads.

"Not looking to get much traction", meaning, I dont care if people talk, I just wanted to vomit my opinion at the top of the page and add to the pile.

Threads must stop.

I think there's a lot of validity here. In a draft both deep in QBs and, according to some, with the top 70 prospects projecting as starters, this is a good year to have 6 picks in the first three rounds. While I'm in favor of trading up if their guy is there, I am also totally on board with McBeane letting the draft fall to them because of the unique opportunity to reshape the roster with young talent. But if they identify that guy at QB and he's there for the taking, they should spend the capital.

yea, but as the op says its impossible to talk about anything b/c there's a ton of threads on every topic.  So its not just about skipping what you don't want to read, its about not being able to have a conversation around here anymore.

So now every thread is about there being too many threads.
