Dan Jeremiah - Bills covet Allen

Recommended Posts

Even after signing McCarron, the former Bengals backup, to a two-year deal, Buffalo is still clearly a team in the market for a QB. The talk I'm hearing around league circles has the Bills coveting Wyoming QB Josh Allen. With five of the first 65 picks in their possession, including two first-rounders, keep an eye on the second (Giants) and fourth (Browns) overall picks as potential trade targets for Buffalo. The Jets and Colts set the market for what it will cost to trade up for a top QB in this draft. It won't be cheap, but I expect the Bills to aggressively attempt to move up for a quarterback, whether it's Allen or someone else.

Allbright already stated that the Bills are purposely shoving this info out there to multiple sources. DJ is likely one of them.

OBD has been vacuum sealed on info since Beane’s team got there. Everything they’ve done was sans leak. Except for what they wanted out there - that they wouldn’t cut TT so if you want him, better trade for him. Now all of a sudden they are leaking real info about the most important decision in their world? Think about that, please.

Yeah, sure.

Not sure people are dismissing it, Allen is pretty much the consensus number 2 on all QB draft boards.  People need to realize, they would be giving up the house for Josh Allen if they move to 2.  Not sure why people want to do that.

To be fair, Allbright also pointed out that it's the same source as the guy that leaked out Buffalo's interest in Peterman and Buffalo has been leaking interest in literally every QB lol

Exactly...these guys are hearing this because McBeane wants them to hear it.

I just don't trust any information being put out there publicly.  And Allen is #2 purely for his size and arm strength.  Trading what it would take to move to #2 to get him will prove to be a huge mistake.

You can think that all you want, but Allen is the consensus number 2 QB in this draft.  For the Bills to covet him is not something earth shattering.

I think the Bills have interest in moving up to 2, but they won't make a deal until they see what Cleveland does.  One, the Giants may want to stay and take their guy.  Two, Buffalo wants to be sure their guy is there.  I would imagine Beane and Gettleman have a deal in place, if the Bills guy is there and the Giants are willing to move down.  Doubtful Gettleman would make a trade with anyone else, without first giving Beane a chance to counteroffer.

The reality is that some team will look at the 6’5” 230LB frame, laser rocket arm, good head on his shoulders and think that Allen can be a future NFL star while completely ignoring his OBVIOUS accuracy issues. That team will think they can fix his issues.

It happens all the time. And it almost never works.

We should all hope the Jets draft this man.
