So, if I'm understanding correctly, you think Rosen is the best QB in the class, but you have medical concerns that push him down to 3rd?

Good stuff man!

A few opinions of my own:

- I have Lamar and Falk rated higher than you, and Allen graded lower

- Orlando Brown is one of the toughest evaluations in the draft. He really looks the part most of the time, but low-built ends are going to eat him alive IMO.

- Bad year to need a pass rusher and be outside of the top 10. I have Chad Thomas rated much higher than you, but it's a JPP-type rate-him-based-on-potential ranking. I think he's an ideal fit for what McDermott would want in a DE. Size, length, explosion, relentless motor.

- Thank you for separating LBs according to their real positions in the NFL. I think a lot of the off-ball OLBs you have are great fits for nickel 'backers in our scheme. I also think that Darius Leonard is going to go on day 2, and that he deserves to go on day 1.

- I think Derwin is a safety all day; I've seen some folks saying that he can play corner

You are correct sir. The grade is attribute based, I haven’t figure the medical in yet, but it’s a certain cause for concern for me.

Re your opinions (which are always welcome):

- Lamar is killing me; my advanced notes from the last two years sound like high school puppy love, this year not so much. I’m waiting a couple weeks and revisiting him all together. Faulk looks amazing some plays and like absolute trash other times and has his fair share of aweful decisions I’m going to wait a while and come back to him with some fresh eyes as well. I get the Allen hesitation by anyone, he’s a projection for sure, I thought he showed some touch later in the Senior Bowl week, but there is a lot of work there no doubt and probably 2 years before he is remotely close to ready. The payoff could be something special.

- I agree with your thoughts on Brown.

- This Pass Rushing class is not deep at all, Key who is the best pure PR In the class when right IMO, has issues to be dealt with and sorted (20-32) is his sweat spot right now as I see it given the risk. Love Davenport, and Chubb a little less, regardless both at gone top 10. I have Edmunds projecting there to help fill the void as a realistic option and Landry is a scheme specific type and needs a plan, reminds me of Hughes and not many Hughes types make it. Hubbard is really over rated IMO.

- To have Thomas rated higher is a JPP like projection without a doubt, he needs a combine like that to go day 1, maybe 2 (highest imo) to make it happen. Where do you have him?

I want to like him, but every time I watch him I come away disappointed, leaves too many plays on the field IMO, but I see the McD fit, Jerome McDougle? I haven’t seen the motor yet, maybe I’m watching him too intently.

- Your welcome, it’s a great year for WLBs and sub package guys imo as well, and Leonard should go round 1, Odaniel is really growing on me as well, made big strides this year vs last.

- Derwin can play Either safety, but I think the closer to the line the better. CB? I’m not there yet, I can see why some say yes. The comps athletically and projection wise with Ramsey I feel are off stacking them vs each other, IMO Derwin is better going forward and Ramsey is great going backward with his back to the ball and at... well everything in general. Derwin is going to be be good regardless. I’ll try to look at him as a corner specifically and see what I think next week, I haven’t seen the inate feeling in coverage, almost hesitant. I think All Pro safety is more likely than a move to CB at this point.

P51, Terrific job! It's obvious that you put in a tremendous amount of work in this endeavor.

Your listing is something I can refer to as the draft process advances.

While you have trepidations on Lamar Jackson, I don't. Without question he will need more developmental time than the top three qb prospects. It's my belief that he would be worth drafting with one of our current first round picks. Although Rosen may be the most pro ready and appealing I would take Mayfield or Darnold over him. I'm not sure Rosen is a good fit for the town.

I think so, I almost put him in the DE group and probably should have similarly to Hand and Speaks both of whom would have to lose or hold their current weight to do so for a 43 front like McD plays but I could see McD liking that versatility and using any of the three in as base ends then sliding them inside an NASCAR like package or just as an 3 tech.

The Thomas similarity is interesting I had not thought about that... I don’t know if Thomas has that ability.... Initially on him I would say no, but your now the 3rd person to bring him up to me and I’m going to have to rewatch or watch more on him.

Tell me, are you a closet Alabama Fan? I see that you have Payne graded in the top 10. Imo this was a daring yet accurate projection. After the title game, people now know how athletic he is. He is also lightening fast in close quarters and as strong as an ox. I hope he lasts long enough for the Bills to draft.

All of the mocks love Minkah, but most omit Ronnie Harrison from the 1st round. I have been watching football even before Ronnie Lott and I'm telling you that Harrison hits as hard as any safety has in decades. He can cover, blitz, and is great against the run. Trust me, I loathe drafting 1st round defensive backs as a rule, but RH is going to win football games for his NFL team. Good call!

A quick word about Bama LBs: Coach Saban says that many of the LBs who now excel on the Tide might not have made the team several years ago because they would have been thought of as too small. This group they have now will leave school pro-ready because they excel at coverage. I hope that Shaun Dion-Hamilton does last until round 4, even if we had to wait for him to return to 100%.

And, you properly list Da'Shaun Hand as a DE and he might be a great one. He is huge, and he sure has fresh legs whereas he sat a lot on Bama, but I have a hunch that he would be a standout DT in a 4/3. Just a hunch.

Bill, What the hell has happened to you? The Gotham Bill I once knew would be revolted with the idea of drafting a DB in the first round. Even the suggestion of it would set you off fuming at how the Bills have no clue on how to build the roster because of their proclivity for drafting defensive backs. What has gotten into you???!!!

Green is very Charles Johnson-like physically, but I don't see the same EDGE ability (lacks the bend IMO)

I know you and others are tired of hearing my repetitive lament. If the Bills don't come out of this draft with a high end qb prospect I will be rampaging against the regime. The time is now, not tomorrow.

Two of my favorite players in this draft are DT Harrison Phillips from Stanford and Da'ron Payne from Bama. I'll be happy with either one. I think Payne is going to be selected higher up the board.
