Stanford RB Bryce Love Staying In School

Surprised he didn't declare.

Apparently smart enough to get into Stanford but this seems like a poor decision.

I admire the loyalty to coaches and the school, even the pursuit of educational excellence. Hard to imagine his stock being much higher and you can tack on another 300 touches into the wear & tear column.

Exactly the point.  Take that wear and tear for dough.

I’ve never heard a scout or have read a scouting report that mentioned playing 4 years dropped their draft status because of weat and tear...

Guys have dropped for staying in school and dropping production. Guys have stayed in school and dropped because of injury. But never for playing more college football. ??‍♂️

A local kid from here in Wake Forest, NC.   A young man with a diverse set of interests, high intellect, and high character.  I cannot say enough good things about him.  He has impressed a lot of the right folks in Silicon Valley.  No matter what he chooses to do, he likely has a great career in front of him.  He loves the game and works as hard as anyone, but its far from his only path to success.

He's a biology major at Stanford and his main sport growing up through HS was track. He is good at football, but may not actually like it. He is also smart and may have his sights on the rest of his life after football. One can always go back to school, but in the sciences, it's not that easy. One tends to forget stuff over the years; he'd have to start over in a few areas, most likely. I would never knock a person for staying at Stanford to complete a strong major.

He played on a bad ankle most of the year and missed some games. May want to strive to have a healthy season, and their team has a good shot to win the Pac 10 this year.

... Or he may want to complete his degree in biology.

Hope he doesn't get injured. I question the wisdom of this move. No Willis McGahees

Bryce Love isn't anything remotely like McGahee, a certified moron.

even been there?  spend a couple days on that campus and you'd stay all 4 years, trust me.  pro football can wait , that has to be a once in a lifetime opportunity

Or a young guy can enjoy one more year of one of the greatest times of his life and sacrifice a season of NFL football when he's 32-33 in doing so. As a bonus he also finishes his degree from one of the best universities in the country.

For all we know the guy might be planning on playing only 4-5 years and investing that cash then moving on to a vocation that isn't going to kill him. That would seem like the wise move to me.

I think you've confused yourself into thinking movies are reality. This is a Stanford biology degree we're talking about. His abilities to play football will not play into the minds of potential employers because 75% of them will care less if he even played any level of football. He's a biologist not a salesman. His brain is what they will care about.

I spent 2 hours there this past summer and I didn't want to leave.  One trip up to the Hoover Tower observation deck overlooking the Silicon Valley and I was sold.  Bryce Love has a much brighter future ahead of him than taking helmet-to-helmet hits from Vontaze Burfict.
