I wonder how long it is before the parade of high profile guys accused of sexual harassment finally grinds to a halt.  It seems like now there are two or three every week.

You are seriously off here if the allegations against the men are proven true.

1 of 50 accused by the same woman? I'm not making an excuse for any of these guys, from what I have seen they are mostly jack asses...but 50??? You got harassed by 50 different men at the same job. 50.

All the sudden it bothers you? It didn't bother you enough say after the 1st one to put an end to it? Or say maybe after the 25th? 50 guys later you realized you needed to speak up!

Man.

How did they get her cell number to send her videos and texts?  I'm sure these guys are scum but there's a lot of dangerous women out there too.

"The original suit alleges that Cantor was fired in October 2016 after having falsely been accused of stealing clothes from a network employee.

The suit seeks unspecified damages for wrongful termination, sexual harassment, retaliation, defamation and age discrimination, alleging that the person who was hired to replace Cantor is 21 years younger than she."

This plaintiff has a lot of beefs.  My guess is that all those guys will be able to produce phone records that might show voluntary participation by the plaintiff in  such conversations.

Wow this is getting out of hand. Watching the news last night and someone claimed sexual harrassment for a unwanted hug... Like really? What the hell is wrong with women in today's world? I don't condone men sexual harrassment at all but seems to me that women are just throwing out allegations to anyone somewhat famous. This is like the 8th time in past 2 weeks.

Really? In your mind "looking at an attractive woman" is the same as "sending a video of yourself masturbating to a co-worker"?? Can you really not see why one of those is wrong and the other is not? Let's try another one: Which one of these is wrong: A) looking at an attractive woman, or B) sending sex toys to a female co-worker?

That's what 3rd wave feminists want, and there are plenty of feminist men who agree.

What I don't like is that actions are being taken against men without any proof. What happened to due process? Scary stuff. Any women that doesn't like you can stick it to you.

Again, 3rd wave feminism...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the accusations arnt true. It was more that everyday we hear of some new allegation. And while men should not be able to do these things, it will get to a point where if a man courts a woman, even in a respectful way, it'll turn into a harassment case because she felt uncomfortable.

I was browsing a blog on hiking the AT.  Post about "how to avoid being Creepy Guy" by a female AT hiker.  Had advice like "say Hi, make a typical weather/rocks/packweight comment, but if it isn't reciprocated Move On Along"  "Don't ask questions about where she's planning to camp that night" "Don't offer her food then expect to get laid for it" "don't touch her or her gear without asking (outside of emergency), even if you're trying to help her along the trail" - all seemed pretty straightforward "well DUH" to me.

Surprising number of responses were along your vein - "OMG OMG Shock Panic Can't look at a woman hiker now without sexual harassment"

I have a teen daughter who gets f**king catcalls from doofuses in nearby apartment buildings when she's taking the dog for a run in a baggy cotton tshirt and running shorts over tights.  This is in a super-safe conservative midwestern neighborhood.  I would love to beat said doofuses into pulp for making my girl uncomfortable but there's plenty more where they came from.  Doofus-beating could be a full-time job and after I'm jailed, they'll just repopulate.

So the above gets no sympathy from me.   Looking is not the d*mn problem here.

If women complain of being groped without their consent and having a guy pull out his junk and demand sex of some form - don't go all defensive and chirp about how "what's next, looking at an attractive woman is gonna be sexual harassment".  We're only just getting to the point where actually touching without consent and demanding sex from subordinates on the job is sexual harassment, y'know?

It's really just not that hard.

It has been a pain in the ass to be a small employer for a while now, but I bet it's about to get worse.

Employers will begin seeing physically attractiveness as a negative that will need to be covered by the ADA.

I know I'd be extra careful.

Meanwhile, let's jam everyone into the same bathroom.

I dunno, for me I just think of it this way, you had a sexual revolution in the 60s and 70s, then released porn movies into theaters in the 80s, and now everything in media and on TV is overly sexualized. Meanwhile theirs probably 40 different websites you can stream free porn on, but the public is shocked and outraged when a sexual allegation happens. Again, Im not justifying it, but what does the public expect. It is a result of culture that we've created. On top of that, our president owns or owned the miss America pageant and is married to a very attractive woman who's posed nude for magazines.
