You understand that not wanting to pay a lot for Matthews doesn’t mean I want a roster full of rookies and cheap vets right? Mathews is best served in the slot and more than likely the same goes for Zay. If given the option I’d prefer Zay there at a cheaper price. Mathews is a fine player, just not on the outside and not for the price he will likely ask.

What has Matthews done to merit even being brought back?  Find somebody better.

4 years and only 2984 yards for aguy we gave up 2 first rnd picks for basically, to me a wasted effort.

That's about 750 yards and 7 touchdowns per year...was it worth it for the price we paid?

Again, you refuse to face reality.   Watkins is a good WR, maybe even a great one which he might prove to be if he stays in LA with Goff and McVay.  You can't blame Watkins because the Bills traded up to get him, never ran a pass-first offense, and have failed to draft a franchise QB since 1983.

...NOT to worry!.....he's a 2018 UFA so pay him and sign him to 12, 13 or 14 mil a year, whatever it takes......his 2017 absence has been THAT detrimental......OBD does its "mea culpas", he's back in Buffalo blue and you're happy happy.....problem solved IMO........

Every time the Bills decide to shed another blue-chip player, they hint at this and fans grab it up and run with so that it becomes "FACT".

Pity the poor Bills!  They can't afford to re-sign most of their best players ... even though they aren't paying a franchise QB or even a premier DE.  If they actually do find and develop a franchise QB, which seems highly unlikely, they're going to have to let him walk after his rookie contract or totally gut the team around him to keep him.  Neither solution seems promising for the future, but keep applauding the Bills for their "foresight".

Well, that's only if you ignore facts, sweetie ... Sammy Watkins has 184 receptions, 2984 yards, and 29 TDs in 4 seasons, 3 with the Bills ... but carry on pretending the geniuses at OBD know how to build a winning team -- or are even interested in doing so

Earth shattering numbers there.

Tell you what, since you're SO upset with the Bills, why don't you go away?

....we're in a completely different world as far as drafting players and the salaries of draftees with the Rook Cap.....the last two beneficiaries of no rook cap drafts were Bradford at $50 mil guaranteed and Stafford at $41 mil guaranteed if memory serves me...so with the rookie limitations on one hand and the cap continuing escalating on the other hand, why doesn't it all fit?....Overdorf has been the capologist since I believe 2008 with final say on contracts (not Whaley)....if he is the culprit, why did Pegula retain him?........

If Lawson had to go on IR, it's too bad it wasn't two or three weeks ago so we could have called up Eric Lee.  Lee looked better than any of our D linemen last week.  Of course our guys were playing against professional football players.  Oh wait, Lawson was lining up over their third string RT.  Hmmm.

I don't mean to slam our entire O line.  Dawkins is playing well, and Incognito still has something left in the tank. The others resemble the starboard side of the Titanic's hull.

Honestly I just want to get an update on Tre’Davious. He’s the only one of these names that has been making an impact. He essentially has made 2 game winning plays for us.... and doesn’t even play on offense. Only great defenders do that. Ray Lewis, ed Reed, Khalil Mack, von Miller... and he’s making less rookie mistakes the more experience he gets. We need him. Even against the colts. And I hope Gronk breaks his leg in 2 weeks

Come on Joe. All you have done for the last 5 years is rip the Bills, especially Tyrod, Sammy, & Whaley.  Now for some reason, you blindly trust guys like SM, his puppet GM, & Peterman.  It's hypocritical to call out frustrated posters when you have consistently done the same thing in the past.

most smart no rational posters knew it was a bad move to trade Sammy and try to replace him with Matthews.

Whaley !@#$ED this franchise.

Contract to Dareus. Trading up for a WIDE RECEIVER.

He was a horrible GM and actually EARNED the criticism. This guy hasn't even had a draft. See the !@#$ing difference? I call people out after they've actually had a chance to earn it. You, Scotty, mister racist-behind-every-rock Tier...you don't.

Although Glenn is good, his contract is enormous for a guy who is often hurt. 5 years, $60 million salary? $12 million a year is a LOT for a good but not great, injury-prone player.

Another Whaley gem.

Fail. And anyone who backs him at this point is also fail.

You're so biased it's not even funny.  But I respect that you are the type of person who will be a to admit they are wrong.

Sammy and Dareus make this a playoff team.  They were sunk cost that this new regime stupidely traded.  They kept TT and forced an offense that's didn't suit him down his threat.

but blindly trust the process. They clearly have demonstrated they know how to judge talent.

Sammy and Dareus DON'T make this a playoff team. They didn't make this a playoff team for the half-decade they were here. Instead, they committed fraud and grand larceny. Glad they're gone.

Sure why not. They can let him go so that he can join the other Whaley "fails" like Gilmore, Darby, Woods, Watkins, Hogan, Goodwin, Dareus and Ragland who are all contributing more for their new coaching staffs than they did for the hacks Buffalo hired.

Maybe Bean can bring in more contributors like Benjamin to help the team out

Havent all of the former receivers we let go of before this season already proven that you don’t just get rid of talented players because they had one year of bad luck with injuries? I would be pissed off if we did the same thing with Glenn only to see him dominate for 16 games next season somewhere else . All we are ever doing is creating more team needs and setting us back more and more.

Hopefully mcbeane realized availability is unpredictable after their trade for Matthews, a guy that was praised for his overall availability and couldn’t be available half the season for us

or hopefully they realized that maybe it wasn’t the receivers from last year, but a quarterback that never throws to receivers in space  where they don’t have to get hit hard after every catch
