Quick question about the Chargers game

I was watching with the sound off, and was in and out during the game, but on one of Peterman's interceptions it looked like he got smacked in the head by the Chargers defender, and the ref threw the flag. Looked like a clear unnecessary roughness penalty, so I figured the INT was coming back. Next I looked the Chargers were snapping the ball, so what happened? Did the ref pick up the flag? I sincerely hope not. If that happened to Tommy Boy the defender probably would have been ejected for life and the Pats*** given an automatic touchdown.

Breaking news, tough sailing for rookies in the NFL.

I suspect that if a Bill did that to Brady, Kyle Williams or McCoy or even Incognito would give him hell.

So are you saying that's what happened? The ref picked up the flag?

Yes it should have been a flag on Bosa hitting Nate in throat facemask. and caused the poor throw. Nate was motioning it was on SD and looked stunned when it was hands to face on Bills.

The rules to protect QB's only apply in full to the QB's who are the face of the franchise and the pride of the "shield."  We've probably lost an average of one game per year throughout the drought due to this type of preference.  It is also likely that we benefited on occasion during the run to four SBs.  Obviously, the added attention to protecting the QB would have been nice back then.  Jim Kelly might have played another few years, but we weren't doing him any favors trotting him out on that pavement otherwise known as AstroTurf!  If we get to the place where we are consistently performing with discipline (blocking, tackling, positioning, etc.) we will see the calls even out.

That is completely ridiculous. Like someone said, Nate knew it was a smack to his head and was going to be a penalty on SD by the way he reacted. Unbelievable.

Bosa clearly smacked Nate in the throat area and yes there should have been a 2nd flag. But all that was called was Dawkins hands to the face. Rookie qbs will never get that call. Bills will never get this call. Even late hits on Tyrod are often ignored.

On one play it looked like Bosa essentially punched Dawkins in the face.  You could see his arm go out and hear a smack.  After the play Dawkins was bent over for some time clutching his helmet.  I had no idea that was allowed.
