It's like you're deliberately obtuse. Do you actually watch the games or just look up midseason stats? This defense has carried Taylor all season long(besides NYJ), and he continues to lose football games by being unable to turn crucial drives into touchdowns. Taylor boosting his stats in meaningless sections of games  doesn't impress me or put digits in the win column. His trash play during clutch time is what matters most, and he's currently this teams weakest link. With this year's version of Josh McCown this team is undefeated.

Here are some real stats that aren't just vanity metrics: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/qb

DVOA.png

Riiiiiiiiight.

I'm the one being obtuse. I respond to a direct quote from you saying "When taylor has 3rd and 7 I'm already hitting the bathroom to beat the crowds before the punt." with facts.

I assume you meant you go to the bathroom on those 3rd and longs because you have no faith Taylor will convert, not because you have severe bladder problems. Is that fair or am I being obtuse?

Well, if you're going, you're misleading yourself:

Taylor has faced the 2nd most 3rd and longs in the entire NFL at 43.

Taylor has converted the 4th most 3rd and longs in the entire NFL at 14.

Taylor has the 10th highest 3rd and long conversion % in the entire NFL.

I'm sorry if you think I'm being deliberately obtuse. Pretty clear I wasn't, just droppin knowledge on ya bro

Taylor deserves some credit...

....he'll never be a franchise QB which by definition is as wide as the equator....his on field presence in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line and his club is down by a score will forever be a doubtful question mark which I think is a true measure of a franchise QB......can he be an effective game manager?....yes......can he command enough presence to march this club down the field in the waning moments, instilling Rodgers/Favre/Manning/Elway fears in the opposing defense?....nope..............

Rodgers isn't a Franchise QB by your definition since, over his career, he's not good leading his team to a W when behind in the 4th Quarter.

how anyone can put taylor in the same catagory as rodgers is beyond me. don't get me wrong, taylor is the man under center.  I support that for now but also realize he's not in the same caliber as rodgers.  honestly, even showing some improvement this season, he's not the long term answer nor should be considered a franchise guy. suffice for now until better comes along but I see his career likely becoming more of a solid back up down the road whether it be for the bills or some other team. franchise, rodgers level?

no

AR has 12 per the link

I don’t know where you people get this fictional “fact” that he doesn’t have many.

And it's also worth mentioning he doesn't have the opportunity very often because he often gets the job done much earlier.

they are not in the same class.

Absolutely they are not in the same class but this isn't why.  These stats are comparing 10 years 141 games vs 3 years 37 games.  Not really a fair comparison.  If anything Tyrod had more comebacks and game winning drives percentage per game played than Rodgers did.

If you look at Rodgers first 3 years you find that he had 3 fourth quarter combacks and 5 game winning drives just like Tyrod did.  If you look at Drew Brees he had 3 fourth quarter comebacks and 7 game winning drives in his first 3 years.

These QBs are apples and oranges and Tyrod is not on their level.  However, this is a poor way to show it.

Franchise QB is such a fickle term only because people have so many perceptions of this.....its a QB who has been with a team for a very long term and have built around them over years and have won championships or broken records etc.....there are only a few who meet that defination and have earned it......Brady-obviously, rodgers, brees, rivers, ronchiberger......then you have the flaccos, manning (eli) who are still considered franchise QB's especially moreso earlier because of what they accomplished but now are seriously regressing whether it be because of age-accumulated injuries, crappy personale all around them etc etc.....will TT ever become a "franchise QB" really nobody can say difinately now.....who knows.....i for one will just see how this very interesting season goes........

Well no I don't.  Thing is people have different definitions for what a franchise QB is.  For some people Elite QBs... Brady, Brees, P.Manning types are franchise QBs.  For others it may include QBs in the next tier.  While I would not say Taylor is a franchise QB right now.. I'm not yet convinced he couldn't be one.

FWIW this is how I view it...

Elite QBs future HoFamers

Franchise QBs

Good QBs

Average QBs

Bad QBs

Right now I think Taylor is at the top of average to bottom of good.  That's where I would put him right now and I don't care about raw yardage stats.  I care about what he does with the football when he is asked to do something with it.

AR has 12 per the link

I don’t know where you people get this fictional “fact” that he doesn’t have many.

12 in 141 starts (8.5% of all starts) vs 3 in 37 starts (8.1% of all starts).

Way to cherry pick
