1st Quarter of the season optimism

Im not going to mention the P word here. I did it after our last 4-2 and 5-1 starts and we both know how that went. Instead, I just want to enjoy where we are at and look towards the future assuming the world isnt going to crumble around us like normal.

1 - We have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds and may not need to trade up for anyone! None of the college QBs are demanding to be taken as saviors so far. There will still be a bunch taken early because of positon demand, but not because they are the next healthy Luck.

Right now, TT is good enough and we have a guy developing on the bench. IF things stay as they are, those 6 picks can go anywhere. We can trade back and keep the picks flowing for next year or we can get BPA and improve even more.

Think of our team right now and add a quality WR, RT, RB, DT, DB, and LOLB. Some as depth and some as starters, but think about what we would be.

2 - Now just look at the division window. Pats spent a ton of money and are getting crushed on D. They still own us and Im not saying otherwise until we beat them without them starting their backups, but that window looks to be closing.

3 - We have a head coach who seems to have a plan, sticks to it, has some personality, but isnt Rex. Could we possibly be stopping the coaching carousel?

Hes brought a scheme in that allowed us to turn over more than 60% of our roster and be competitive immediately. We have big contracts holding us back that will only dump off and give us more money down the road. Basically, things are going to get better their. (Only negative - how will the team and McDermott respond to a 3 game losing streak or any adversity is to be determined)

4 - We have owners who arent moving us. nuff said

5 - Could this possibly all be the cure to BBFS? After 17 years, a lot of us could use that.

Go Bills!
