It was when the protection broke down that he reverted to his bad habits of happy feet and leaving the pocket. I think the new running scheme is good and I think we'll continue to see gash plays throughout the season. I was troubled by the inability to pick up the first down with one yard to go, the line and Tolbert should be ashamed of the execution. D looks promising. Found it odd that the special teams penalties are linked to the one coach remaining from Rex's staff. is that what you're supposed to do when protection breaks down? I didn't see anything you wouldn't expect to see mistake wise with the turnover we have had, new staff, new system. If we wanted the best backup in the league we could sign Kaepernick but let's be honest he's not worth the headache... Think he gets distracted by things breaking down which means he misses the chance to get the ball out on time and by that stage there is then no alternative but to escape. Think about it...you or I could have signed for contract minimum, pissed our pants a couple times from fear and fell down when the ball was hiked and we would have saved the bills a ton and got more yardage! Personally, I'd like to see him shuffle more and slide in the pocket versus the complete turn he does which makes him lose visibility down field. It's a blessing and a curse.
