As I recall, he was uneasy about performing live and did it rarely. To me, JJ Cale is one of the all time greats, and the real deal. Clapton is a phony and a thief. So I was living in CT, and I had an old, Funky, Antique couch for sale on Craigslist. I get a call on it from NYC. Girl drives down with her friend, and shows up at my place. I’m playing JJ Cale vinyl. ”who’s this? I really like this” she said. I said “JJ was an incredible songwriter and guitarist. He’s the real genuine talent. JJ is the original SlowHand. Clapton stole title. And he stole “Cocaine” and “”After Midnight”. I said Call Me the Breeze by Skynyrd- which has the greatest rock and roll piano solo- that’s JJ Cale…” I went on a long rant praising JJ and trashing Eric Clapton. She laughed and said “do you know who I am? I’m Eric Claptons daughters best friend. We live together”. My gf loves Clapton, and knows everything about him. She heard our conversation and starts hammering her with questions. “Where did you go to Vacation this year?” “What’s Claptons daughter’s middle name?” “How long has Clapton lived in NYC?” Etc Well the girl answered every question quickly and correctly. My gf said to me “that is Claptons daughters best friend”. Not to mention my gf said to me “that couch is worthless. You ain’t getting anything for it” lol I got $500 1 1 Quote
DaBillsFanSince1973 Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) April 16, 1970 Led Zeppelin's single "Whole Lotta Love" was certified Gold in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) after selling more than one million copies. Headphones are a must with this tune. Edited April 16 by DaBillsFanSince1973 1 Quote
StarlessAndBibleBills Posted April 16 Posted April 16 I'm a 6-year-old visiting my aunt and uncle's cabin near Java Lake. They have a set up in their living room where almost an entire wall is a giant shelf of vinyl. They have everything from Led Zeppelin to The Cars to Jesus Christ Superstar (which weirdly terrified me when I was a child). I pull out a vinyl of 'Honey' from The Ohio Players. My aunt says "ya...um....put that back in." 2 1 1 Quote

My aunt says "ya...um....put that back in." we wore that album out and partly because of the "urban legend" story. smoking weed playing it back over and over to hear the scream. "The infamous high-pitched scream in the Ohio Players' 1975 hit "Love Rollercoaster" is not a murder, but an intentional, high-pitched scream by keyboardist Billy Beck. The urban legend claiming a woman was murdered in the studio was fueled by a DJ rumor and the band's "no comment" stance, which increased record sales." 1 Quote

I only dipped my toe into the deeper end of metal (like the bands listed above). But it reminded me of a band/album in that vein that I liked: 1 1 Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I know the comments, but top comment: "Oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE how they're talking about a relationship that's healthy and how sometimes it's a little unsettling because we're so used to dysfunction or getting hurt. I needed to hear this and be reminded." "...Some people wanna switch it up Like just one love Could never be enough Some people watch golf on TV And neither of those things make sense to me Some people think it's supposed to hurt Like it couldn't be real If it's putting you first But some people watch golf on TV And neither of those things make sense to me..."
