I didn't know, so thank you for the info. I've got plenty I know, and plenty I don't. And honestly, music is such a gorgeous thing- it is just so soul-quenching, soul-crushing... and it just never ends. Edited April 7 by BringMetheHeadofLeonLett 3 Quote
StarlessAndBibleBills Posted April 8 Posted April 8 In 1990, when I was going through my "too cool for the room/I'm so metal" early teenage phase, wearing my Megadeth t-shirts with Overkill posters on my bedroom wall, I ignored this song. Just another dance song for me to dismiss. Now, decades later, with lots o' soul, blues, funk, 90s hip hop under my belt, I've grown to realize the glory of the ingredients of this goofy, fun song. With Bootsy Collins and Maceo Parker involved, how can you go wrong? Maceo even makes a cameo at the end. If you can't find even find any modicum of enjoyment out of this, check your pulse. .....and for a complete left turn, the greatest 'middle of nowhere'-driving song in existence, in my humble opinion. Driving from Buffalo to San Juan Capistrano, CA., I had this song blaring on Rt. 10 in the middle of New Mexico. Nothing but a panorama of black midnight sky and bright stars. By the ending crescendo of the song, I probably had a tear in my eye. My favorite Springsteen song to this day. 3 2 Quote

This one's not bad: Could have been from Live Bullet. Maybe Get Out Of Denver? That got some radio play back in the day. Quote
US Egg Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Saw R.E.M. around ‘89 at “The Aud”, place was 2/3 empty, maybe 5000. They were so f@ck’n good! 1 Quote

Don't think it was off the main live albums... it was something just totally different, and it was a local DJ in some BFE playing it- I was driving through, made a mental note, then forgot to write it down later. Appreciate the suggestion though. Quote

They were one of those bands that got annoying later because they got overplayed and over-poppy, but holy crap their earlier stuff was magic. For me it was 'Life's Rich Pageant'. 1 Quote
