Makeup and hairstyle make a big difference. In Marilyn's case, being able to turn the "dizzy blonde bombshell" act on and off like a light helped, too. I can forgive whatever a beautiful woman is wearing, she's still beautiful which will over shadow fashion. And yes, any decent person will care if she is nice.
