The Trump Economy

Gee, maybe the fear of a Sanders victory has lessened somewhat and given investors a little hope. Healthcare stocks have improved dramatically.

This.  The market was reacting to the Democrats' obvious moves to have moderate as their candidate versus a radical.  Anything as to a Biden bounce was just irrational exuberance by the media.

We haven't even started massively testing yet, so as soon as that happens, the number of cases will rise significantly.  The market will not be able to stand the weight of that, no matter what the Fed does.  We will most certainly see a much bigger fiscal response in the near future.  But, yeah, listen to Trump and go to work even if your sick....

Missed that. Do you have a link?

It was a typical misquote attempt.

There’s a viral clip flying around this morning of President Trump’s interview with Sean Hannity last night which accuses him of telling people with coronavirus that’s it safe to go to work.

The problem with the clip, however, is that it’s just not true. From President Trump:

Now, that’s entirely different than what Rupar tweets: “Suggests it’s fine for people w/Covid-19 to work.”

It’s “some of them go to work” with the virus vs. “it’s fine for people” to go to work.

You may hate the president’s impreciseness, but that’s not the same thing. Watch for yourself:

President Trump: ‘I NEVER said people that are feeling sick should go to work’

Saw that last night. Had it on in the background while doing a little work. Was really looking for a certain economics professor to respond but you do a good job of filling in for that MIA Tom, who invariably would spring every ***** trap I ever set for anyone! ?

"So if, you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better, just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work — some of them go to work but they get better."

Going to work to get better? Idiot!

Read the quote you quoted. I know, it's a 50/50 chance that you'll get the fact that you are misrepresenting what he said.

The Left’s Lies About Trump’s Interview Shows They Are Trying to Hoax America yet Again

The left is desperate to paint the Trump Administration’s response to the novel coronavirus (aka Covid-19) emergence as incompetent and malicious. Despite the administration getting praise from people who are actually familiar with the actions and issues (an no, your rando doctor or even medical school faculty is not qualified to comment because as Mike Ford pointed out, this is a logistics problem much more than a medical problem) the media has shown a willingness to lie to further their narrative. (SEE: New York Times Continues to Attempt to Weaponize Coronavirus By Just Lying About Testing.)

{snip}   Multiple examples of the Leftist's spin

And Rupar and others are simply telling a blatant lie about Trump saying it was okay to go to work. He doesn’t say that at all. He says people may have such mild symptoms that they go to work. Many, if not the overwhelming majority, of people acquiring coronavirus will have symptoms that are extraordinarily mild. A large number will be asymptomatic. As the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci pointed out in testimony to a Senate committee on Tuesday, there have been no confirmed cases is children under 15. This doesn’t mean they can’t spread it, it just means they don’t even know they are sick.

The left is desperate. They were counting on coronavirus tanking the economy and on using the response by the Administration as a weapon.

The response, so far, has been on target. The markets are beginning to price in disruption of the supply chain to China and alternative suppliers are being found or developed. Odds are by mid-summer people will be looking back on this as the medical equivalent of the Y2K panic.

And this is how the right defends his piss-poor attempt to manage this crisis.  I wish a dem was in the WH, then you guys wouldn't be blinded by how ignorant this guy is on the issue, and more important, you'd realize that he cares more about the market than protecting people.

The number of cases has increased by 35% so far today, and as we test more, these numbers will accelerate.  As the data show, if you're young, it's no big deal, but this thing will wipe out a big part of the older population. As a scientist friend said to me today, what will distinguish this from other viruses is that everyone will know someone who dies from it.

As for Trump, his casual attitude is a big problem.  He's trying to protect his stock market and economy.  By saying it's no big deal to go to work with this, he's become part of the problem. Yes, I understand that he's saying people have it and will go to work and eventually get better.   However, what he should be saying is exactly the opposite.  Stay home, because you will infect more and more people, which will put more and more of the most vulnerable population at risk.  For christ sakes, China quarantined an entire city to slow it down.

This will be his downfall--he will not win a second term because of his (lack of) response to this.  He can blame the dems, blame Obama; but Trump owns this now.

And to think I thought all along that you just had a mild case of TDS. He was referring to deaths per thousand and said that it can't be accurately determined because there are so many mild cases of it that many people have no reason to think they have it and will go on living their life as usual. That includes going to work. There has been no lack of response and in so saying you are supporting the dems and MSM hoax. Congratulations on spreading panic.

Don’t bother.

TPS has declared it to be so (from on high)

We poor serfs just don’t understand the nuances in ‘right-wing’ speech.

It has to be sent down from the mountain top

I understand. Which is why my response to his 4 paragraph diatribe was but 4 words.
