Refugee Crisis in Europe

Recommended Posts

BERLIN/MUNICH (Reuters) - Chancellor Angela Merkel's Bavarian allies suffered their worst election result since 1950 on Sunday, bleeding votes to the far-right and the ecologist Greens in a setback that raised tensions within Germany's crisis-prone national government.

The Christian Social Union (CSU) won 37.3 percent of the vote, preliminary results showed, losing its absolute majority for only the second time since 1962 - an outcome sure to stoke infighting in the conservative party, already a difficult partner for Merkel in Berlin.

The result, which saw the pro-immigration Greens come second and the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) enter the state assembly for the first time, means the CSU will need to form a coalition - a humiliation for a party used to ruling alone.

The Greens, who more than doubled their share of the vote to 17.8 percent, attracted support from more liberal CSU voters and from those who traditionally vote for the left-leaning Social Democrats (SPD), who won just 9.5 percent.

European Parliament Issues Pamphlet Encouraging Members to Replace Words Such As ‘Mankind’ and ‘Manpower’ With ‘Humanity’ and ‘Staff.’

Presumably, terrorist attacks are a thing of the past in Europe, since the EU has now pivoted over to fight the far more important pronoun wars.

Germany tells Jews to pretend they’re gentiles.

Felix Klein, Germany’s government commissioner on anti-Semitism, recommends that Jews in his country would be wise to avoid wearing yarmulkes [aka kippahs or skullcaps] in public to avoid being attacked by anti-Semites. He did not, however, advise Muslim women to avoid wearing hijabs [head scarfs] or niqabs [face coverings] to avoid being attacked by Islamophobes, the same white supremacists who would attack both groups.

To be fair, Germany has a history of trying to tell Jews what to do.

EUROPE IS HAVING QUITE A WEEK:

French prosecutors drop murder charges against Jewish kindergarten teacher Sarah Halimi’s killer. Psychiatric experts say Kobili Traoré had smoked cannabis and may have been unaware of his actions.

“Witnesses said the 65-year-old was beaten and called a ‘demon’ by her attacker, who recited Koranic verses as he threw her off her balcony. In an appeals court hearing on Wednesday Traoré admitted killing Ms Halimi, saying he was not aware of his actions on the night of the murder and did not recognize when he broke in.”

ITS ORIGIN AND PURPOSE, STILL A TOTAL MYSTERY:

London Bridge knife attacker known to cops, wore electronic tag, had links to jihad terror groups.

“The attacker was a convicted terrorist who had recently been released from prison and was wearing an electronic tag, according to The Times.
