  1. I have watched Dorian Williams play the last 2 games and have come away really impressed with this kid...the dude is all over the place...yes in the Jags game maybe he was a little TOO "all over the place" as he overran some runs, but he also had some fantastically athletic pass breakups too. Last game was much better and he shed blocks a few times to make tackles for short gains better than I ever remember seeing Edmunds do. I strongly believe that by the end of the year Bernard/Williams will be better than Edmunds/Milano last year as a tandem on the field, once Williams gains experience. That being said, I still think Bernard/Milano would be the best combo for them...Milano is just so good, it's crazy. Dude does everything well. I just think Williams is a better fit for what the Bills are trying to do on a down to down basis than Edmunds was and will prove to be even better once he gets more reps and experience as the season moves on. Bernard is already Milano "Lite" and has been nothing short of remarkable for us. Thoughts on this? I know it's a little bit of speculation and some high praise for Williams who we haven't seen enough of, but I think this kid has it at LB.
  2. Cannot believe how many years were wasted on this guy. Another wasted draft pick on defense. He sure is helping the Bears defense. 😄
  3. Said this when he signed with bears and I will say it again now. Edmunds while frustrating sometimes made this defense what it was. Hyde and poyer looked slow out there. Mark my words we will get torched over the middle this year when not playing Zack Wilson, and give up many long runs.
  4. There was a weekly “this guy isn’t that bad I swear” report on Edmunds for the last couple years. After watching him whiff yesterday, I’m not sure if he got benched or what, but I’d love to hear some breakdown of the former “ProBowler” and his level of play in a Bears uni.
  5. I didn’t agree or liked that the Bills traded up in the 1st rd for Edmunds and then just let him walk without receiving some kind of compensation for him. Now there’s Oliver and as far as I can tell there’s been no movement with him on a new contract. I think it’s crazy that a team would invest a 1st rd pick and then they don’t extend him or get anything back for him. A player and/or a first rd pick, these are assets. There’s times that I think that Beane isn’t too shrewd with the Pegulas’ money. I don’t believe that the Bills are going to extend Oliver and I’m ok with that but man get some kind of return for him, don’t just let him walk, the guy was the 9th overall pick for Pete’s sakes! If they already know that they’re not going to keep him then please trade him for something! If they do then hopefully they trade him during the draft so they can improve their 1st rd pick for a good player.
  6. Bills sign former Patriot LB, Tedy Bruschi. 1 year 80 million guaranteed! SuperBowl Baby!!! j/k
  7. Reflecting on what happened to the Bills’ players’ contracts and how they were structured. I was of the opinion that Beane was a wizard when it came to contracts but I’m not so sure right now. Knowing what the salary cap has been I’m a bit surprised by how much the checks and balances were a bit out of whack, finding ourselves upside down and over budget by a considerable amount I might add. If I recall correctly there’s been a few players that Beane put on a 1 year contract on and when the time came to re-sign them they had outplayed their contract, hence to re-up them the cost escalated considerably. I’m thinking it would be better to sign players to a contract that consists of multiple years (3 yes?) with funny money built into the backend of it so it would allow the Bills to have an out of it after a year or 2. I referenced Tremaine Edmunds’ contract in the title of this thread and what I’d like some opinions on is due to Edmunds being so young (19 yrs old) when we drafted him. The Bills built a contract that in hindsight wasn’t going to favor the Bills in the end. Being only 19, getting 5 years of NFL experience when the contract expires leaves Edmunds holding all the cards. What I’m thinking is that when a drafted player is ultra young then it would serve the administration better to recontract such player by no later than year 3 before the player has more time to validate himself, hence his value/cost skyrockets. In Edmunds’ case I realize he never blew anyone away with his play so the Bills waited until the next year and then again waited again the following year after that in which he finally did play good and then became unaffordable for the Bills. If the Bills still couldn’t get an accurate bead on him after his 3rd year then when the Bills exercised the 5th year option with him then they should have traded him by the end of the 4th year or even extend him by that time. Allowing Edmunds to finish his contract left the Bills high and dry imo. If anyone wants to say that well at least the Bills will get a compensatory pick for him is very disappointing compensation if you ask me. Drafting 1st rders and just ending up with a compensatory pick is poor management imo.
  8. I know some here would say this is crazy.. But please remember this guy was the consensus top linebacker in his draft class. He had a great rookie season and then got hurt. A natural leader and great instincts. A change of scenery could do this former first rounder well. Tuff against the run and great blitzer. Sheds blockers way better than Edmunds ever did. What do y’all think.
  9. The first Chapter of the Josh Allen era had some great successes, annual playoff appearances, a championship appearance, and some moments of dominance. The defining feature of the rest of the team was the emphasis on the Frazier-Edmunds defense scheme. This chapter is completly closed with today's signing of Edmunds by the Bears. As we being Josh Allen Era - Chapter 2, what will be the Bills primary emphasis be to get better results in Chapter 2, than Chapter 1. I was not a huge Frazier or Edmunds fan, but they provided the teams most recognizable elements (aside from Josh himself) ?

  11. Just wondering. If everybody played with the passion of London Fletcher, this would be a different game. I loved watching him when he was here in St. Louis, and was thrilled he went to our team. But there's something about Edmunds. I hope he stays. I don't care what he gets paid.
  12. Link Poyer isn’t surprising, Edmunds is disappointing but you can only pay so much on upside. Will have a new look defense in 2023. 🦬
  13. Tremaine and Poyer. I knew Poyer was gone but was hoping they'd get Edmunds back. And I'm surprised they haven't started restructuring any deals yet, Josh being the biggest one
  14. Of course trading up and taking Allen was the most impactful. But I'd argue the decision on Edmunds will have repercussions for years. There are so many options. Sign him long term and spread out the cap hit to a player that at best has had an inconsistent impact since entering the NFL. Even spreading out the can hit, it will still commit massive resources to the two linebackers. Tag and force him to play under the tag. Tag and trade. Simply let him walk. This next decision may ultimately make or break Beane's career. The window to tag a player has already opened and a decision must be made by March 7th. Should be an interesting week ahead.
  15. Some of us wanted him last year alongside an Edmunds trade. He ended up signing with the Rams at about $12M/per. Now Bobby and the Rams are “mutually agreeing to part ways because he wants to be with a contender.” How about Bobby Wagner and a late round pick to groom at MLB?
  16. Seems like there are several third round type players who can be suitable Edmunds replacements. This assumes we are keeping Frazier and our scheme. These are two: DeMarvion Overshown - former safety who grew up to be a linebacker https://thedraftnetwork.com/sr-prospect/demarvion-overshown-9d45f5cd-68e2-4ed1-ba13-6c61db37b4b8/ DeMarvion Overshown 🔥 FREAKISH LINEBACKER ᴴᴰ WARNING EXPLICIT LYRICS Drew Sanders - Projects all over the place from early second to late third Best Linebacker in the Nation 💪 | Drew Sanders 2022 Arkansas Highlights 🐗 || HD
  17. Anything is possible but it sounds like we have seen the end of Edmunds' career as a Bill. Which leaves more room to build the offense.
  18. Every once in a while these things turn out to be true. So take it with a heaping pile of salt but...
  19. Interesting discussion from Joe on WGR this morning where according to analysts a 4 year deal is about 44 million for Tremaine which the Bills can definitely afford… Or would you be ok with going after someone like a Mike McGlinchey in San Francisco who is roughly the same contract over 4 years and with other decisions in San Fran likely to hit the open market he would definitely solidify RT…but LB being a priority in the draft. I like Tremaine but man I’d sleep a little easier not playing a rookie or Brown on Josh’s other side.
  20. Both Brian Urlacher, the Bears HOF middle linebacker and Tremaine Edmunds were coached by Bob Babich who retired last year as the Bills' LB coach. Edmunds plays the same role as Urlacher did in the Cover 2 defense. They both can cover the hole in the middle between the two deep safeties.
  21. Didn't see this posted. https://www.buffalobills.com/video/micd-up
  22. Okay, I know some on the board has been harsh on him, in a lot of cases rightfully deserved. But can we take a moment and all agree he had a monster game today, making big plays at just the right time? The critics among you can keep your opinion, but even you have to admit for this game at least he was clutch.
  23. I am a little surprised that this piece hasn’t generated a thread, so here goes: https://buffalonews.com/sports/bills/inside-the-bills-a-remarkable-advanced-stat-shows-tremaine-edmunds-growth-this-season/article_817e855c-88ab-11ed-8c2e-77dd12191e72.html. Lots of interesting stuff in here.
