I heard on Sirius XM (Pat Kerwin) that Jason Kelce was thinking of un-retiring, but a return to Philly was most likely, if at all.  Since Buffalo needs a center, I wonder if Beane would consider calling his agent to explore?  He seemed to fit in when he was here for KC game (even though douchy KC won)... even did a table jump.

Buffalo doesn't need a center, Connor McGovern is our Center and David Edwards is taking his spot at guard.

Not that I want Sanders kid on the team, but his words do tend to have a lot of influence on college players in general.

"I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.”

“Let me tell you something that I have a problem with,” Deion told Russo. “And this kid can flat out play, I think he’s the best one on the board this year for sure. A kid that’s coming from California for the last couple years, right? And went to Oklahoma. That’s not terribly cold. Chicago’s cold, man. You gotta think about that kind of stuff when you’re taking a young man. Like see, when you take a guy from Ohio State and you bring him to Chicago, OK, I could understand that. But from California to Chicago? Not only that, they added what? One or two more games in the NFL. Seventeen games. Come on, man. You gotta factor in that stuff. That stuff matters."

Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Josh Allen are all from California

Building a Super Bowl Champion by building a roster designed a shootout offense hasn't really been very successful. New England's best offensive season, their perfect season ended in disappointment, as did Denver's under Manning. The Saints' entire philosophy under Sean Payton was outscore the other team and it worked once when it was new. It hasn't worked for the Dolphins. It hasn't worked for us when we've tried it in the past either.

You need to get elite play from every facet of the game. KC's dynasty runs through Mahomes, but they get big time plays from their defense when it matters. We get strong aggregate performances during the regular season and then our guys disappear when the lights shine brightest. We need dominating players to turn the tide of the game, especially with a mediocre coaching staff like McDermott and his boys. We need guys like Milano, Miller, Oliver, Douglas and guys who aren't on the roster to be playing the best football of their lives in February if we want any chance. In my mind, the key there is the guys we're missing. Someone in the mold of a Ed Reed, Aaron Donald, JJ Watt, Micah Parsons that can be used in multiple different ways gives you more chances where a team can make just one play that wins the game for you. Hell, I'd take Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Josh Allen is good enough to make it not matter if he has more surrounding him.

Ok. So you do that so now your WR5 is locked up, but who are you starting at Free Safety?
The 4th round rookie you drafted instead of prioritizing your needs?

Who is your first CB in when Benford or Douglas get a breather or get banged up?
    Cam Lewis?

I just don't see it as a high priority need at all. You can get productive WRs on the street.

Safety is the RB of the defense. You can plug almost anyone into this scheme and they will be OK.

People need to stop worrying about Defense. McD can scheme up enough answers during the regular season.

During the playoffs it doesn't matter anyway no matter how good they are, the offense is going to need to carry them because they can't stop anyone when it counts.

Load up on offense and do enough on D to get by.

The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again that haven't worked and expecting different results.

The focus needs to be on offense, forget the defense. Fill it in like they did with the offense last year.

Also, plenty of viable safeties will be around in the 5th and 6th rounds. You don't waste high picks on non difference making positions.

Like I said, It wouldn't shock me to see them get on in round 3/4, which would align with them NOT passing on WR drafts and taking advantage of the depth rather than the top end talent. But given that I think they'll be drafting one late, I think the replacement is likely to be an eventual WR2/WR3 instead of a future WR1.

I don't see Samuel as an elite player, but he's guaranteed 2 years of salary, and at $7M per, the Bills likely envision him being a significant part of their offense. Diggs has a $22M dead cap hit if we move on from him after this year, so again, he's a part of our offense through next season, and Shakir is cost controlled and on the rise. Furthermore, rookie WRs, even future great ones, rarely make significant impacts. For all of those reasons, I think it unlikely that Beane views WRs as a top priority going into the draft. We have massive gaps at S, OL, CB that need to be addressed and evena  hole at DE and I wouldn't be surprised to see all of them picked in the draft ahead of 2024's WR4/WR5

A team with a #1 WR that is 31, a #2 WR that is 29 and a #3 WR who is on the final year of his contract should NEVER pass up a WR in the first round because "they are good enough" now.  That's how you become very bad, very quick, because you have the cupboards bare in the upcoming talent pipeline. Taking a WR at #1 gives them a year before they are expected to step in and play a huge role and to get acclimated to things.

DJ Chark might be a better player and fit than any of the names highlighted.

Chark has a career catch rate similar to if not worse than Gabe Davis.

People keep saying this but I don't see it. John Brown has career YPC 14.9 and had similar number while in Buffalo. Samuel has 10.7 and it was even less last two years.

I am not an expert but it clearly seems that he won't play John Brown's role unless we use him differently than he was used before.

Just because a player was used a certain way prior doesn't mean that's all he can do.

    Yes! Hahahahahaha

Over the last 12 games of the regular season and the 2 playoff games (14 games), Diggs had one game with 100 yards receiving and 3 total TDs.  Bills did not have a #1 receiver for 3/4 of the 2023-2024 season.  It certainly appears as if he’s not him anymore.

Think the narrative would have changed quite a bit if Allen didn't constantly overthrow him while he was wide open just about every game.

Diggs, Shakir, Hollins, Samuel, Shorter…even Kincaid (WR/TE). Nice WR room.

Face it…we need an interior O lineman or a safety.

    Deal with it.

No we don't.  McD routinely turns 5th and 6th round DB's into good players, especially at safety which is the RB of defense.

We draft a young stud at WR in round 1 to take over for an aging Diggs when he starts declining. That's how you build a team that always stays good...you have deep pipelines at key positions.

Defense DOESN'T MATTER on this team. McD is going to get players schemed up to be a top 10 D regardless. They need to get to a place where they can bring firepower to destroy teams and not have to worry about the D saving them in the playoffs.  We have tried that for 5 years now, it hasn't worked.

The definition is insanity is doing the same thing over and over again even tho it doesn't work and expecting different results.

The offense needs to be the focal point, the D can be top 10 and they'll be fine. Do not allocate key resources to defense.

    We got the wrong Samuel.

Y'all will be hating this signing by mid-season.  He was supposed to be able to stretch the field when he came our of college, but all he is a mediocre version of Diggs who can run a jet sweep occasionally.  This is a waste of 15 million.

I was all onboard with Beane finally make this team younger and cheaper, but instead he wastes money on two exceedingly mediocre WRs.

He never played with anyone like Allen before.

This is an elite specialization pick up from Beane.  This is PERFECTION. Y'all realize what this going to do for Diggs and whomever the Bills pick in the draft to replace Gabe?

Now the Bills can threaten the safeties in multiple ways to open up the intermediate and short, or even isolate corners and safeties to make deep routes more dangerous

And open up space for Kincaid

This is the exact guy I kept  naming as who I thought Beane would sign.  Fair deal too.  I think he’s going to be a good addition and allows the team to not have to lean too hard on the rookie as well.

Im even more convinced Beane is in the hunt for a WR1 Diggs replacement in the draft now and not just a WR2 who might become a WR1.

So I think this increases the odds Beane is aggressive come the draft to go get his guy.

Dude is a speed demon...4.31 40 time...fills the John Brown role for us we have sorely missed

  13. Wow...big upgrade from Davis...Bills going to be dangerous as hell next year offensively...add a WR in round 1 now...

It's a 3 year $24 million deal that could go up to $30 million with incentives...$15 million guaranteed...

Samuel is the definition of burner...he runs a 4.31 40, likely filling the John Brown role for the Bills that they have been missing.
