It's Allen and potentially Von Miller. Anyone else is a reach.

What a terrible deal to give to such an undeserving player. Cleveland is a joke. I would be breaking stuff if the Bills gave out this contract
If you're gonna whiff, whiff at WR. At least you're swinging at the right pitch.
The Bills spent the last 4 years or so just quietly striking out looking.

Someone let those guys out of there.

If you don't follow the draft or college football in general like @st pete gogolak don't try to drop zingers about the draft years later.
The issue wasn't whether Beane could get to Justin Jefferson in round 1. It wasn't a surprise that he was available at the Bills draft position.
The unanticipated was that Jefferson would turn into a true WR1. Let alone the best WR in the NFL.
So rather than drop a cringey fail-zinger just take the layup.
The issue that forced Beane to pick the low hanging fruit of Diggs in that WR-rich draft was his insistence on reaching up for need at a non-premium position with Cody Ford in the draft prior instead of taking a chance on the high ceiling WR prospects like DK Metcalf and AJ Brown.
Even if he got Metcalf, which I wanted at the time, he still should have traded for Diggs. Then you have an unstoppable offense and you can start actually winning championships.

Of recent BILLS receivers who would Samuel compare to? Gabe Davis? John Brown? Robert Woods? Or who?

Can't believe they signed a guy I really wanted. Bill's needed speed and hands, they got both
And RAC. Probably the best RAC receiver Allen has ever had.

I don't agree with him, but I think there is a germ of a point there. I'm not advocating being weak against the run or building a weak defensive line. I am saying seeking to build a dominant run stopping defense to force teams to be "one dimensional" which 15 years ago was absolutely something teams sought to do is no longer a winning strategy against the best Quarterbacks.
Exactly.
Yeah having a dominant rush defense will help the Bills beat up on bad teams but they have Josh Allen, they're going to win most of those games anyway, automatically. When you play the Chiefs you want them to run the ball.

The better your rush defense the worse it is for you because it discourages opponents from rushing and encourages them to pass, and passing is better, smarter, more efficient. Bad rush defense is better than good rush defense because it encourages rushing, and rushing a lot is a stupid move for the offense. The goal is to win not to be ranked #1 in useless statistical categories.

The weapon opposite Diggs will come in the Draft. Would you rather us have spent Round 1 on a Defensive Lineman? I'm sure you wouldn't have liked that either. Like it or not, these positions needed to be filled one way or the other.
At WR the Bills should try to get a proven veteran plus a couple of draft picks for the long term.
Picking at the end of round 1 in a position of desperation for immediate production at one of the most important positions on the field is asking for another season with no championship.

Hmm. Guess it was a bad year to need DL help. We are bringing back the same underperforming group and hoping for the best.
I'm a little perplexed about Beane's strategy these past couple weeks. Cut underperforming overpaid players, then turn around and re-sign a bunch of guys in the same bucket.
I'm sure the real numbers aren't so bad. Hopefully he's healthy and gives us the level of play we got before his injury. I'm not upset about this individual signing. Just confused about what the plan is.
The plan as usual is to use up all the cap on a mediocre roster, be bad at WR other than Diggs and watch Josh Allen perform endless miracles to make the team seem "good" and win a bunch of games but never sniff a Superbowl despite having the best QB ever.

Same.
In watching what he did in 2021 in his only real season with significant reps Offensively will and with a much lesser QB - I expected him to be a "Diamond in the Rough" for us. Instead it was just rough.
Yeah you whiffed on Sherfield too. Rough offseason for you last year brother.

This guy is right. Zone corners aren't so important that they have to keep him and pray he comes back and balls out. They have Douglas anyway so move on and take the $6M savings. Easy call honestly. But they'll probably get it wrong anyway.

When researching Cook for his draft, and then after we drafted him, my hope has been that he be used like Kamara. Is he the same player? No, obviously not. But he has similar skills and should be utilized similarly.Does he though? Seems like Cook does not catch the football nearly as well as Kamara.

Im not saying it only happens in Buffalo, but there are lots of stadiums where guys don’t perform that behavior. I’ve been to the Jax stadium many times and Miami even more, and never witnessed it. I don’t care, and laugh when I see the guys, but it’s also kind of gross as I normally wash my hands always after and can’t do that in Buffalo with people peeing in the sinks.
Anyway, I’m happy Steel is coming up, and can’t wait for my first game in the new stadium. I fully expect the tix are going to be a lot more expensive and am prepared for it. I still will take my kids up for whatever Sunday game in September is at 1pm. It’s too hard to make a night game. Not when I fly back Monday morning as most of the time the only nonstop on SWas that is the only airline that has one nonstop to Tampa.- 1

Fielding a team that has only 1 DT, 2 DEs, and 1 Safety (Hamlin) on the entire roster would certainly be the defensive downgrade you are after. But we simply cant roll that out.
It's not about upgrading the defense. It's about having a full starting lineup of 11 guys.
1 WR pick, then the rest have to be Defense. Unless you want to line up those 2nd and 3rd picked WRs as DBs.
What are you talking about? Who said don't fill the roster with players?

Only disagreement is on that early WR pick. I think most on this board understand, and are even in favor, of a very heavy defensive draft given our needs on that side of the ball.
I also agree with going Safety->DT->DE. Heck, I'd say Safety->DT->DE->Safety->DB->DT.
After our WR pick tho.
I'm not like most on this board then. I say ignore defensive needs, intentionally downgrade the defense in order to FINALLY give Josh Allen the weapons he needs to win a Superbowl for the first time in his life. I want a young, talented, athletic, DEEP WR room. And Diggs may or may not be on the back nine. First 3 picks should all be WR as far as I'm concerned. Wide receiver was in a position of desperation 3 years ago; at this point it is way past desperation.

Hill has back to back seasons of 119 catches and 1700+ with crap at QB in Miami. He is perfectly suited to the modern game and the lack of physicality in coverage. He is one of a few guys who in the 90s would have hardly stuck in the league as a a gadget guy if at all but today he is as elite as it gets at the game's second most important position. These guys show that the game has changed more than many fans care to admit IMO.
