Does this mean they'll use Robey as a blitzer on obvious passing downs?
-
I don't remember it that way either. I do remember after Jones and Nelson were shipped off, most fans looked around saying "okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...now what?" Then we drafted Woods and Goodwin and brought Rodgers in and fans looked around saying "okaaaaaay...this might not be sooooooooo bad." But please please please count me among the posters who expected the offense to undergo a noticeable regression in 2013. I personally never saw this receiving corps of mostly rookies, being thrown to by a rookie and running routes drawn up by a rookie OC as a bright spot going into the 2013 season. Then they managed to fall short of my already low expectations. So yes, this year, I'm expecting more. It won't be hard from them to improve.

Last year's receiving corps at this was exceptionally deep....with exceptionally mediocre talent. And while Stevie may have been the best Bills receiver since Moulds, even at his peak, he was clawing to get into the league's top 15. Stevie's gone and he's been replaced by Mike Williams, and this will show itself to be a huge upgrade, IMO. Watkins was the consensus best receiver in what was touted as one of the deepest drafts for receivers in a generation. Another big upgrade over...who was our number 2 last year, even? Woods proved to be the receiver we hoped him to be. Smooth, polished, reliable, we know what we have in him. Goodwin demonstrated a knack not only for running circles around defenders, but catching the ball, too (take notes, TJ), so we have a proven asset there too. So, IMO it's apples and oranges to compare this year's enthusiasm to last year's (though I don't recall the same level you do).

Am I the only one who caught her saying "I've stripped for all of them?"--in reference to the cops she was calling. Stripper. Freely using the n and f bombs in front of her children...At the Dollar General, I mean...this is a pretty awful situation, all around.

Whose wife stopped by today with the kiddies? http://m.tickld.com/x/white-woman-reacts-to-black-man-starting-his-car-this-is-disgusting (NSFW, language)

Soooooooooooooo...we'd rather our top 10 overall pick be a gimmick, gadget player than a workhorse? Actually, Wannstache and his historically bad defense got Gailey fired. A top 20 defense would have put the 2011 and 2012 teams in the playoffs. You mean get the run game working like Hackett did last year? To the tune of second most yards in the NFL? I did look at the 2013 numbers only.

Minus Fitz, but more importantly minus Levitre. I'm sorry, but our screen passes were just turrible. Our execution was just plain lousy, and it was mostly because Legursky and Brown were about as nimble as filing cabinets.
-
Spiller had a high ankle sprain. He had major issues with execution. And he had a zero at LG. I understand you've decreed these as not "real" excuses, but I'm sorry, that claim is baloney and entirely unsubstantiated. Oh: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/168046-cj-spillers-increased-role-in-offense/

This is false. He called plays that maximized Fitz's narrow skill set. And short, quick calls resulted in defenses playing close to the line, essentially trapping Fitz into throwing the passes he couldn't: deep ones. This an abject lie. According to these numbers, it was actually half of that (approx 34% of his runs). And his YPC on those doomed "up the gut" runs? 6.86 7.58. Explain to me again what you're pissed about??
-
Or perhaps his desire to maximize his players' talents was completely suffocated by masking others' shortcomings, which has been well documented. Well, someone has done that. And they're findings have been disproving perceptions like yours since last September. Seriously, you guys who wonder these things really really need to head over to the googles and ingratiate yourselves with the 40+ all-22 analyses that were produced last year by WGR, Rumblings and other bloggers who have "far more time" than you.

Well I agree on the one point which has now been well documented: that EJ does a poor job of letting plays fully develop, this by his own admission, even. But, when the shortcomings of your best quarterback limit your playcalling abilities AND your offensive line limits your playcalling abilities (as has also been documented) AND your hobbled running back limits your playcalling abilities AND your receiver corps is arguably the worst unit on the team (name a worse one), then what--praytell--is expected of our rookie OC? On top o that, what's expected when the best quarterback goes down? Then the second?

I'm not disagreeing that their questions are ****. Their are questions ARE ****. Chris Brown has particularly annoyed me on this front for years now. His "questions" are little more than long-winded affirmations.

Everyone in this thread knows that they're employees of OBD, right? That provoking thought and getting substantive answers is not their aim?
-
And you believe that was the first option? That EJ didn't didn't let the play develop and checked too soon? You think the play was primarily designed to get Chandler the ball behind the line?
-
You're struggling to think of a reality and/or universe where a QB would dump off to his TE?

Just PM'd you -
And I've contributed this EVERY TIME this stupid argument has popped up (starting in week 2 2013): Personnel and execution had a MUCH more (negative) impact on the offense than playcalling EVER did.
-
I'm confused. If OP "follows the Bills online" thereby relying on the information there within, how have the never ending debates on this topic eluded him/her since September?

Except he only crawls out from under the rock when there's something negative to report. His absence is always a nice little supplement to eras of good feelings in Bills Nation. -
If you came for justice then you came to th wrong place.

The man did get four picks last year.

UFA, not given a deal? Still a free agent? How did I/we miss this?
