  1. Aren't we on the same side of the bracket as Greece? We wouldn't see them in the finals, only semis, right? http://goo.gl/OO6NKI
  2. I mean, again, I understand not having total confidence in EJ. IMO, he's done nothing to earn that. But, by the same token, he hasn't done anything to warrant him being completely written off. For me, the Tannehill comparison was just terrible. I'd be shocked if EJ--in his entire pro career--EVER has a game as terrible as Tannehill had in Buffalo in week 16 last year: 10-27 for 82 yards, sacked 7 times. This one week after what is arguably his BEST game in his career in a win over New England (with good, but not great numbers): 25-37 for 312 yards 3TD 0INT. Best of all, he's never even gone head to head with EJ. But he has managed to lose to Thad Lewis...twice. Agreed. And the ATL podcast talks about Vick starting at least four games for NYJ as if it's a foregone conclusion (though it probably is). I just don't understand how guys who watch and analyze football year round and still have so much faith in Vick's abilities.
  3. We should call it Deadspin! Wait...AWFUL ANNOUNCING! Seriously though, I like listening to these guys, but when they say EJ will "never be as good as Ryan Tannehill" and immediately dismiss the Bills as a Super Bowl contender because of quarterback (fine), but then say the Jets have a legitimate shot, I have to wonder wtf it is the rest of us are missing.
  4. For anyone who listens to the Around the League podcast, they hate for EJ is...just...RIDICULOUS. Bothers me. I'm really hoping he can silence the (unsubstantiated) critics. Since when did an injury-riddled rookie campaign become all we need to see?
  5. I don't want to come across as some kinda Cutler disciple here. I'm just not as quick to dismiss him. I think you make perfectly valid points.
  6. That's fine, but now he has two big, strong receivers he can just wing it up to.
  7. Belgium would have to lose to Korea with Algeria winning over Russia.
  8. Group of Death? More like Group of Meth, amirite?
  9. Translation, when it comes to Cutler, Schwartz got this.
  10. Now slow down. The Bears offense is good enough to make a Super Bowl run. Their defense, on the other hand, is a SERIOUS question mark.
  11. If you haven't already, register here to receive updates on the events of week one: http://goo.gl/2lz2Ez (we have 155 people on our list now) We're (The Chicago Bills Backers) finalizing plans right now for a Saturday night party, and might be putting something together for game day, too.
  12. I think his subsequent performances have really validated his lunk-headed straight man character on Cheers. That aint as easy to pull off as he made it seem. And "greatest ever" no. Of course not. If we're going by metrics alone, not least of which is batting average, I challenge anyone to come up with a more decorated actor than D.D Lewis.
  13. I'm surprised there was no love for Gene Wilder. So let me toss out two other wild cards who I think deserve some honest recognition: Woody Harrelson--his range is so narrow it's actually unfathomably wide. A lot of nuance in his chops, IMO. Charlie Sheen--in spite of his maniacal escapades of late, he was a pretty brilliant comedic actor in his day. Not bad at the serious stuff, either.
  14. I may have made the Robert Plant comparison in a moment of impassioned delirium. I standby my endorsement of Mmm Bop, though. If we're all in agreement that Mmm Bop is the pinnacle of cheese, and that some element of cheese should be present in all pop...well, then.
  15. No sarcasm. If you can get past the brow-raising feminity of the bands members (not sure why Robert Plant isn't held to the same standard), it's a GREAT pop song. And they played it live/accouatic on Carolla a few months ago, and they sounded dynamite.
  16. Also, Mmm Bop. That's right.
  17. LFO was one of the worst. I'm finding the hate for Mmm Bop truly disturbing.
  18. A Buffalo Bills message board makes it this far before the first mention of the Goo Goo Dolls? Telling. Seriously, I am NOT a fan. But Ben Folds Five belongs in the mix. I'll nominate Brick. Also every other song on Mellon Collie.
  19. Honestly, I would lump this song in with LEN, Steal my Sunshine as two great 90's pop guilty pleasures. Can't believe the dude died though. Damn, How could we forget the Offspring!? Just recently put this track into a playlist. So 90's. So sweet. Some more great additions. I think Oasis has only gotten one mention in this thread. This is quickly becoming an exercise in the depth and variety of 90's bands and great tunes. I've been meaning to post this, put couldn't access it from my work computer. I think a lot of the songs have been mentioned: Right up there with Semi-Charmed Life as a song pegged as a 90's establishing shot trope! Speaking of which, go back and watch So I Married an Axe Murderer. SO many 90's songs. The movie just oozes 90's. Just thought of another one: The Eels--Novacaine for the Soul
  20. Nobody has the guts to mention Third Eye Blind? Loved Santa Monica when it was new. (Still kinda do) No mentions of Weezer yet either.
  21. No love for Banditos by the Refreshments? Last weekend at karaoke my buddy and I sang Lit--My Own Worst Enemy Sister Hazel--All for You Left waiting to sing Del Amitri (sic?)--Roll to Me
  22. Mmmmbop is a GREAT pop song. Cheesy? You bet. Devoid of masculinity? Through and through. Catchy as all !@#$? HELL YES. As for worst song:
