  1. Yeah, I mentioned more players than what the Bills have drafted in R1-3 because you said: [Beane continues] "to waste pick after pick on mediocre RBs, under sized “motor” guys and worst of all they are doing it in the first 3 rounds. So unless you're lumping Moss/Singletary into two separate groups to help prove your point, or are considering one of Harrison Phillips, Cody Ford, AJ Epenesa, Dawson Knox, Boogie Basham, or Spencer Brown to be an under sized “motor” guy, I'm not sure who you're talking about from Rounds 1-3. 1. Yep, still want to count Teller. 2. If you want to count Epenesa and Moss as busts, be my guest. They haven't performed great by any means, but to label them as busts after two years seems premature. Plus, Beane mentioned Moss couldn't cut well last season following his off-season ankle surgery, so maybe this year he'll look different. Jury's still out. 3. Starting DEs on this team are starters by name only given the fact that McD rotates ALL dlineman heavily. I'd bet Miller gets deployed in a similar capacity throughout the regular season as Hughes was last year (52%). If that's the case, would you say he's a starter by name only? (Also, Rousseau had the next most snaps at DE after Hughes, so, starter by more than just name.) Jury is obviously still out on Basham given he's been in the NFL for one season. Not sure why you have a question mark there. 4. Yeah, and I'd say Oliver is better than or on par with Wilkins, Sweat, and Burns (not as good as Simmons, but he was never going to be drafted by the Bills). I'm not sure what your issue is with the Bills taking Oliver at 9. In your mind, are any of the above 3 players SO significantly better than Oliver that you consider him a bust compared to them, or a "miss?"
  2. Why would adding an additional starting caliber LB be a priority given we have had our two starters in place the last 4yrs in Milano and Edmunds (who Beane drafted)? Starting players from each draft (excl. 2022) 2021: Starting DE Starting RT 2020: Starting WR Starting K Starting CB 2019: Starting DT Starting RB Starting TE 2018: Starting QB Starting LB Starting NB All-Pro G Which players at positions of needs would you have preferred the Bills take at 9? Here's a full list of '19 1st rounders who did not get their 5th year option picked up - not exactly a who's who drafted behind Oliver. The only names that stick out are Jeffrey Simmons, who had major character concerns, Christian Wilkins, Brian Burns, and Montez Sweat.
  3. So if the running game is slumping Week 12 because we're forcing Singletary into a 1A/1B situation with Cook, what's the plan for the rest of the season and playoffs? To keep doing it because the tail doesn't wag the dog? Or to stick Singletary as the clear cut #1?
  4. Same. How he plays reminds me a little of Hunter Renfrow for some reason.
  5. Singletary started performing much better once he became the #1 guy, who got the overwhelming majority of touches out of the backfield. He never seemed to get into a groove when he and Moss were 1A and 1B. Not saying it can't be done with Cook, but I'm not holding out hope that Singletary will perform like he did the back half of the year if he's in a near-equal timeshare with Cook.
  6. Scout quotes per long-time Packers and NFL beat writer, Bob McGinn: AFC scout: “This is a really good player (but) he’s got 29-inch arms. Most people thought he’d run 4.55. He plays in the slot. He’s an A-plus competitor. They love him at the school, and they don’t like much of anything there. He’s just a steady eddie. You know exactly what you’re going to get. Then he runs 4.4. There’s a chance he goes second round but I think he’s the classic third-round No. 3 receiver. Quarterbacks will absolutely love him because you can count on him being where you want him to be. He knows how to play football.” NFC scout: “Like him. Third round. He’s quick and sneaky fast. He’s dependable. He’s got really good hands. He’s a really good route runner.” AFC scout: “He certainly does not play to his speed. Free agent. The 4.4 really shocked me. I didn’t see him making explosive plays. Problem with a guy like that, there’s so many that size.” NFC scout: “I didn’t see much in this guy. He’s just average. Average speed, average skills, just average at everything. Just one of those dime-a-dozen kind of receivers. For me, he’s a late-round guy.” AFC scout: “Loves the game. One of the best leaders on the team. Brings energy to the room … An athletic receiver with good suddenness in the open field. Is able to make defenders miss in space. Smooth, deliberate route runner who doesn’t waste much movement but can be slow in and out of his breaks against man coverage.”
  7. Scout quotes per long-time Packers and NFL beat writer, Bob McGinn: NFL special-teams coordinator: “This guy is Corey Bojorquez. He’s got just phenomenal numbers. He’s got a great gross average but he’s pretty inconsistent. He’s certainly more of a line-drive guy. He didn’t get near the same hang time that (Jordan) Stout gets. But, he had a really good combine and a really good pro day. He’s never held because he kicked field goals. After watching him at pro day the holding is going to be a deal for him. He kicked off, but he’s more of a line-drive guy like he is as a punter. He can really get it deep down the field but he doesn’t get it up as well. I can’t shade him above Stout because I think Stout will be a better holder. You’d be taking a little risk. I think he’ll get drafted. Fifth or sixth round.” NFL special-teams coordinator: “Very talented. Big-time leg. Raw, very raw. He’s got a big leg. He’ll probably be in a camp. I don’t know if he makes it right away.” AFC scout: “He has the strongest leg. He’s a three-step guy. He outkicks his coverage a lot of the time.”
  8. Scout quotes per long-time Packers and NFL beat writer, Bob McGinn: AFC scout: “He’s better than the Wyoming guy (Chad Muma) but he’s little and he had a broken shoulder last year. He is a football-playin’ dude. A great kid, and really, really smart. Remember, Dat Nguyen was 218 at his pro day, too.” NFC scout: “He’s just little. He’s got some quickness. He’s extraordinarily smart. Great makeup. He’s a leader. He’s an alpha. But he’s small, and in the NFL they start running power at you. They’re going to make you go straight down the pipe and take on that 330-pound pulling guard. He’s going to get bounced around. He’s tough, but he’s not strong. I wish I could say I liked him more. Put it this way: if he succeeds, it wouldn’t surprise me. He’s the type of guy that will find a way.” AFC scout: “It wouldn’t surprise me if he could wear the green dot.” NFC scout: “He can wear the green dot.” AFC scout: “Undersized guy but he’s a good player. Late pick. He ran in the 4.5s. Best in space and laterally. He can rush the passer. Times his blitzes. Drops easy. Can cover.” NFC scout: “Small guy that plays hard but very limited. He got beat up trying to take on. Not a very good athlete. He knows how to play. He’s got instincts. Free agent.” AFC scout: “He can wear the green dot. Really smart. Just a really good player. Undersized, a little stiff, little limited in space. He just really has a nose for the ball and he always finds it. I do think he’ll be a low-end starter. You’ll want better but it’s hard to find teams that have three linebackers better than him.” NFC scout: “He’s a versatile, every-down starter if he’s able to gain weight and stay healthy. All ball all the time. Confident, but not arrogant. Hard practice player. He’s the type you would hire to be a coach after he is done playing.” AFC scout: “Definitely he could wear the green dot.” NFC scout: “He’s too small and doesn’t make enough plays for me. Fifth or sixth round.”
  9. Scout quotes per long-time Packers and NFL beat writer, Bob McGinn: AFC scout: “He gets a lot of play because he’s Dalvin’s brother but he’s nowhere near Dalvin Cook. He’s got a little bit of juice but he’s not real big. He can catch out of the backfield. I can see somebody taking him as a third-down back. He’s under Rachaad White for me.” NFC scout: ”I think his most carries in a game was 10. Dalvin’s brother. Competitive little guy, which you would expect. He maximizes what he has. He might hang around as a backup and special teamer. Third back. Not much talent. People are trying to make something out of him but I’m confused by that.” AFC scout: “He would be the best receiving threat (of the running backs).” NFC scout: “He has the versatility to do a lot of different things. He may not be a true No. 1 running back but as a 1B he can do things in the passing game. He’d be a good, solid rotation guy that will make some plays for you.” AFC scout: “Late third round. He didn’t start behind Zamir White. Played on passing downs. Excellent receiver. Has quickness in his routes. Makes big plays. Productive as a complementary back but never as a starter.” NFC scout: “Underutilized. Not as talented as his brother but talented enough to get drafted in the late third or fourth round. He’s a backup only. He catches the ***** out of the ball but he can’t run the ball.” AFC scout: “Smooth, one-cut slasher with linear burst. Like his production as a receiver but didn’t see dynamic or creative run skills, instincts or elusiveness. Most production was straight line and clear path. Not real big or violent. Unselfish teammate, stays humble, loves ball.” AFC scout: “They split him out as a receiver. Average size but he’s athletic and explosive with acceleration and good speed. He can exploit a crease on inside runs. Can jump cut with quick feet and balance. He’s got the speed to get outside. He’s sudden in space. Has natural hands. Ripped off an 82-yard run against Alabama in 2020. He ran by guys that had pursuit angles on him. His issue is pass protection. He’s not real big. He’s done kick returning. Third-round area.” AFC scout: “He’s a down the line guy.”
  10. Watched the 3 or 4 YouTube videos I could find on him... Kid just sifts through traffic to make the play. And he absolutely fires his gun when he sees a play develop/sees a QB who's vulnerable. Remember the KC game when NO ONE on defense could bring down Mahomes? Maybe that's where Bernard fits in.
  11. HOF-esque performance if I've ever seen one
  12. And traded away one of the top WRs in the league
  13. This thread seems bonkers to me. Beane has made two 4th-round picks in his time with the Bills: Taron Johnson, who's one of the top nickel CBs in the league Gabriel Davis, who's stepped up in a big way whenever his name's been called He's absolutely CRUSHED both picks, so yes, given Beane's hit rate, it's disappointing we don't have a 4th. On the flip side, if there's a guy Beane really wants in the 4th, we can easily maneuver our way back in, I'm sure.
  14. And don't forget he's 20. Booth is 21 Gardner is 21 McDuffie is 21 McCreary is 22 Gordon is 22 Only other top CB who's 20 is Stingley.
  15. You mean Elam has tons of untapped potential because his coaching wasn't great?! Sign me up 😀
  16. I'm on the same page - I agree JA needs to be surrounded by talented offensive weapons. I'm just not sure the right value was there at #25 or #23 for us. On offense, Knox is a UFA next year, as is Singletary. On defense, Edmunds is a UFA and Poyer could hold out unless he gets a new contract. There's limited resources to go around, and I don't know how we fill those gaps AND address WR in a meaningful way in the next two off seasons.
  17. Lacks run-support physicality to be an every-down corner, but he's talented enough to challenge for slot duties right away. Finesse cornerback with relatively slender frame. Big-bodied slot targets will post him up in space and drive him off the line in run game. He's kind of soft, but he can cover. He's not really what our team looks for because we play so much sub packages and he would have to be a better tackler to be on the field that much. He's a fit for what some teams do though. Like I said, he can cover. ^^ I sure hope that soft, weak Tre'Davious White kid can toughen up and become a good cornerback!
  18. Then we better have some good CBs to slow them down, right? I'm sure WR will be a position we go after in the coming days.
  19. Confused by a bit in this paragraph... are you saying that talent-wise, Byron Pringle and Mecole Hardman are comparable to Diggs? And that Davis is worse than them? Or are you purely saying speed-wise?
  20. I don't know how that's a thing, but I think we should hammer the Pro Bowl vote button for any Pats, Dolphins, and Jets that make it 😁
  21. White's weaknesses, per his NFL.com scouting report: Finesse cornerback with relatively slender frame Physicality and play strength a concern from slot Big-bodied slot targets will post him up in space and drive him off the line in run game Tackles when necessary, but doesn't seek out contact Less technique-oriented and more grabby from slot Finished career with just six interceptions despite extensive playing time Early anchor from off coverage caused struggles opening hips when receivers would stem and go Recovery-quick but not recovery-fast Texas Tech speedster Jakeem Grant gave him all kinds of vertical work in 2015 Texas Bowl
