now I'm female so this makes this choice maybe a bit surprising. But I have  never not once looked at an episode  of the Kardashians.  The family some consider American royalty. Yes  all successful women in their own rights. It's the saturation social media overkill EVERY relationship, EVERY couture moment. I saw enough on my feeds to say BASTA enough already.  I don't  care about your glamorous life, who you are sleeping with your mansions, none of it.

Other than that I don't watch much network television.

I have never watched an episode of  "The Queen". I read it was very good and popular. I just never have gotten there. Yet.

What is sad is that some peeps could name every Kardashian and all their significant others, yet  ask the same person to do a simple math problem

    like  3 X 3 X 3   and they are stumped.

I ,too  have never watched 10 seconds of Kardashians.

To me a Kardashian is one of the bad guys on Star Trek Next Generation or Deep Space Nine

I've been looking to go on an Alaska cruise for a while.  One thing several people have said is if you're doing the cruise with land tour, do the land tour part first, so you can relax on the ship the second half.

We did an Alaska cruise this past summer and it was great.  Planning a land/cruise trip for future and the land tour will be first

Airdale Terriers are fairly big but I have never come across a mean one. I would get one in a second but my wife is highly allergic to dogs and cats. I am however told that they will eat your furniture if they don't get proper exercise.

I had an airedale when I was young.  They are great dogs, but really need the exercise you mentioned.  Much better suited for a farm environment than the suburban neighborhood I grew up in.  Gus was 60+ pounds.  Looked fierce but we were convinced if our house was broken into, Gus would show them where the good silver was.  We never locked our doors but that was the norm growing up in the '60's.

Interesting to see so many people hating Miami.

I don't even pay attention to them. Josh Allen is their Daddy and we dominate them in every critical moment.

Those of us who are long time fans are still against the Dolphins due to the decade of the 1970s.  20 straight  losses  causes that loathing.

    It was a brutal time

  5. Board of Directors of Credit Union.

    Several  church committees.

Mrs. Lew volunteers at a local organization that dispenses clothes and food to needy folks in our neck of the woods.

Mrs. Lew and I help at local food bank where we prepare 200 meals  for needy people.  This

is run by a consortium of churches and we do 2 Wednesdays per month.  Food comes

from USDA and donations by local restaurants, esp Chik Fil A. and Sam's Club.

We are 3.5 years into retirement and had decided before retirement to volunteer.

Went to Atlanta for SB 28 - didnt have tickets initially and stayed with a friend who lived there.  Went to the stadium well before game and couldn't find any tickets- and my friend got screwed by a "broker" and never got his tickets.  Before kickoff we went to a big Bills bar in the area and they were filled you couldn't get in - so all the overflow went to this townie bar next door who from the looks of it wasn't even aware the SB was going on.  Will never forget the optimism at halftime - and then the sickening feeling when Thurman fumbled.  I remember, a few beers in, staring at the pitcher on our table and all the SB disappointments welling up and fighting the overwhelming urge to throw it against the wall.  Still amazed I didn't chuck that damn pitcher.

Same here , but we were INSIDE  that crowded Bills bar.  It was a great time, until Thurman fumbled and the entire bar 'knew' it was over.

My friend in Atlanta scored one ticket on Saturday, but alas it was in the middle of a large bunch of Cowboy's fans.  He said they were obnoxious.

On Friday night we went searching for tickets and a scalper had two for $1100,,,EACH.  No thanks

  7. Sorry that your son was playing basketball and the other team was at WWE.  As a retired  soccer ref, if the

parents were removed, the kids would have lots more fun playing the game.

My grandson shoots archery.  He's pretty good for 10 years old.

The tournaments have elementary, middle school and high schools shooting at the same time.

Two kids shoot at one target and they score each others results.

My grandson was paired with a HS girl and she shot well.

Afterwards I saw her crying in the cafeteria and my grandson told me the mom had severely admonished her.

Parents, encourage your kids , please.

  8. Great writeup Shaw.  Thanks.

I still remember that weekend when the Bills and the Browns won  their respective championships.  People forget that  we just got to watch games on Channel 2 NBC  and channel 4 CBS back in the days.  After the merger I had an easy  time rooting when the Bills and Browns played each other since they were 'my' teams.  When the Bills beat the Dolphins to win the AFC East, I was on a cruise ship  watching the game in a bar with dozens of other Bills fans.  The camaraderie of the group was great.  Two days afterwards a gentlemen asked me how the game went as he knew I was rooting for the Bills.  When I explained what happened, he became interested in my 'fandom' story and we had a great conversation. He commented that the Bills must have great fans, and I told him 'we are the best fans in the NFL'.

Sunday's loss was disappointing, but the sun arose early the next day and the organization will work hard for a bright and successful future.

I still can't believe this. Consider the 4th Q alone:

    • KC fumbles thru the end zone, turnover
    • KC drops a pick 6
    • KC fails to jump on an Allen fumble
    • Diggs, the diva, drops a bomb
    • Allen misses a wide open Shakir
    • FG no good

We all wanted KC at home. Yikes, KC simply has the Bills' number, it's a shame.

I don't know if you guys watched the post game- Boomer Esiason spewed out some insane stats. KC only ran 47 plays the whole game, 4 were kneel downs, and they scored 27 points. Crazy.

Bills offense  7.2 yards per pass   4.7 yards per rush

Chiefs   offense  12.6 yards per pass  7.2 yards per rush.
