I don't see them doing anything here, related to the WR moves.

Brown will play again this week and that will be his 3 elevations

Beasley will get elevated the last 3 weeks of the season

Justin Murray is probably gone if/when Ike Boettger gets fully healthy

Xavier Rhodes or Cam Lewis will get released once Benford is off IR

You guys don't think Beasley will be elevated to be able to play this Sunday?

My apologies, I just assumed it would be a foregone conclusion that Beasley was playing Sunday....

Complaining that he’s open all the time about if you watch the film because he’s so fast but doesn’t get the ball

    Wow.

Let me throw my two cents in.  You know what?  He IS really fast.  I have beat the drum as loud as I can on multiple occasions, the guy is freakin FAST. And quick.  He has a gear noone else on the team really has IMO, with the exception of maybe Cook. I love seeing him in action, and especially love the few times seeing him make a great catch for a first down, or leave a defender in the dust.

HOWEVER, those plays are far and few between, and I can think of more instances where he had a backbreaking drop to kill a drive than the times where he came through.  I said it yesterday night, I was really starting to think he was turning the corner, stepping up his okay these past couple weeks, and to me I felt like he was starting to re-win more of Josh's trust in him, and reinstill confidence in him from Josh and coaches alike.  Then what does he do Sunday?  Goes out and proceeds that have a multiple drop game YET AGAIN.  I'm tired of seeing him take one step forward to only take two steps back.  And can I please offer my opinion on what I think happened after the game?  I believe Allen burst into McDermott's office, and campaigned his BUNS off to bring Beas back.  And McBeane gladly obliged.    I think Allen finally realized that what you get with McKenzie is what you're gonna get, and spoke up, perhaps even in desperation.

Look, I LIKE Isaiah McKenzie.  I like Isaiah McKenzie the person, I like IM the football player.   He has luscious, sexy quickness, and I get excited as soon as the ball gets into his hands.  He is a threat to take it to the house the moment the ball touches his hands.  But I just feel like, aside from the sporadic few moments the opportunities present themselves, what we see is what we get with him.  And it's simply nowhere near enough.  Josh probably had the last straw and said Sean, PLEASE get me somebody reliable in the slot.  Hell, even Diggs has  outperformed McKenzie in the slot WR when he's been placed there this year.  I'm willing to give Davis a mulligan this year due to his own slew of injuries.  Praying he continues to get healthy, and as the season continues he gets stronger and remains our best WR2 guy. Shakir, I'm really perplexed as to why he hasn't been given more opportunities.  Maybe coaches just don't trust him enough yet, and maybe he still will get his opportunities before the season is over.  Guys, there is still A LOT of football left to be played.  Whatever the situation is with regard to SLOT, I really hope this lights a four alarm fire underneath McKenzie most specifically, but also all the other WR's as well.  I love everything about this move, and to me, it's a win-win situation.  I believe Beasley still has plenty to offer from his position.    Our slot WR position has seen subpar play all year long, and God bless our boys who have given it their best efforts.  But ***** I'm ready to see Beasley sitting down perfectly in zones, Allen finding him, and the two of them connecting for 1st down, after 1st down, after 1st down.

    Let's go Buffalo!!

The Bills beat down and comfortably won against the Pats was it a major blowout? No but it was a comfortable 3 possession lead until a field goal late in what amounted to garbage time. The Bills are going to likely not have any "beat down" games the rest of the way as they play tough teams in Cincy, New England and Miami and even the one game against a team with a losing record in Chicago is an away game that could have bad weather which always makes a blowout harder.

But I think these tighter games make for a championship mentality for this team. This season the Bills have had to overcome a lot and are still overcoming a lot. The more and more they get comfortable in tight "ugly" games the more they are prepared for the tight games that will be in the playoffs. That being said I would prefer more games like the New England game where the game is a 2-3 possession lead late as my heart can only take so much.

Excellent post, all of it.  And yes, the Pats game, while it wasn't a blowout, was IMO a very comfortable, enjoyment to watch double digit win.

Do I love me some blowouts?  You better believe it.  It's a great feeling to see Allen and co drop 40 and 50 burgers on our opponents, solid play from all three phases of the game, and the starters sitting/standing comfortably on the sidelines laughing and joking with one another, while listening to the commentators expertly and adeptly cleaning, rinsing and powdering our players bottom's.  But yes, winning these close one's, tough one's, hard fought victories absolutely does wonders for this teams morale.  I believe it only strengthens their bond as brothers, and like you said, also serves as a great tool for when those times arise again where it's a one possession game, we just got the ball at our own 4 yard line, and have to go the full 96 and score a touchdown.  They already know they've been in this situation multiple times(this year alone), and are well-prepared to go get that W.  I don't mean to sound cocky, but in situations like this, I have zero doubt in my mind that we are going to drive down and win.  As a matter of fact, I'll be totally shocked/let down if we don't.  That's just how good this team has become in my eyes.  Everyone talks about Buffalo's record this year in one possession games vs last year's record. (2021, 0-5.  2022, 5-3). I think this stat is understated by a lot.  The fact that Buffalo didn't win a single one score game last year, and has won 5 this year I fully believe has done wonders for this team's confidence/psyche.  Combine that with the fact that we have gone through an absolute BRUTAL stretch of injuries to key guys which seems like it's every week, this team, IMHO, is truly built to WIN IT ALL.  There's no situation we haven't faced, no key player on our roster that hasn't dealt with either an injury or some type of adversity.  At one point in this season, we were dealing with so many injuries, I was seriously ready to concede the season, and say, "These injuries are just too much for any team to overcome.  We'll be better for it next year." But yet week in, week out, this team battles, HARD.  They refuse to let injuries be an excuse, so why the heck should I?  10-3, first place in the AFC East, and first place in the whole conference.  In the driver's seat for the entire road to the super bowl to go through Buffalo, New York.

I can't see him getting another job in the NFL after that, prior he had a chance to be a backup in the very least. Now he just blew that chance as not a good look for him at all.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, with the exception of him ever landing another job again.  As we all know this a passing league, and the game itself revolves around the QB position.  Let's add to the fact that Mariota, while he isn't in any danger of stealing the the NFL MVP from Josh or whoever, also isn't a bottom feeder QB.  He's only 29 years old and has pretty decent mobility.  The bottom line is someone is going to be more than willing to overpay for him.

With all that said, and without knowing the whole situation, if this is in fact true, this is some bush league type sh!t, and not something I would expect from Mariota.  I'm actually still kinda having a hard time trying to digest this.  It doesn't make sense.  This is a what have you done for me lately league, and the bottom line is, if you don't perform, someone is ALWAYS waiting in the wings for their shot.  Very immature IMO, and disappointing to read.

Browsed the Miami board and i’ve never seen a fanbase dreading a game more than this one. The weather, Tua nursing an ankle and playing poorly the last couple weeks, fans fear for his health since Buffalo demolishes QBs and Tua. Bills revenge, etcx

They are resigned to a beat down.  Hope it turns out that way but i’m sure Miami will show up and play for their lives…like the Jets did.

I would love an uncharacteristic epic beatdown of the fins this Saturday. I only say uncharacteristic because it's been a minute since we had a bigtime blowout victory.  I think I resigned to us winning hard fought battles every week back a couple months ago, simply because our injuries were preventing it from happening, much more so than any other factors.  My how I would love one this weekend, and dare I say, it's more than possible.

Obviously the weather and conditions Saturday night will have alot to say for how both teams perform.  I wonder just how much Beasley will see the field.  Seeing as though we've only signed him to the practice squad, we still have to activate him/sign him to the 53.  But that's a foregone conclusion right?  I HIGHLY doubt he doesn't get activated by game time.  Plus, can you imagine the reception he's gonna get, how pumped up the crowd is gonna be?  This is the kind of signing a team AND a city can get behind and really make some noise....I bet Highmark Stadium will be absolutely ROCKIN come Saturday night...

  6. I am very happy with this signing, for a multitude of reasons.  I wanted to wait a little while before I commented because i want my post to contain logic, be as objective and unbiased as possible.  Last night when it was first brought up that Beasley might be resigning with us, I boiled it down to two simple questions I had: 1)Does it improve our team, and 2)...well I forgot so it must not be important.  If it comes to me while typing awesome.

I believe the answer is absolutely.  I look at our production from the slot receiver position this year, and to say we have underachieved is an understatement.  The subpar play has, IMO, hampered our offense in multiple ways.  Too many games Josh has simply avoided even throwing in the middle of the field, resulting in attempted screen passes to RB's which tue the defense AND 75% of the crowd know is coming, thus the play getting blown up at the LOS, or a gain of 1-2 yards at best.  I think that Josh lost alot of faith in McKenzie due to so many drops, but he stuck with him, and I felt like the last couple of weeks McKenzie had finally started to turn it on, and Josh's confidence strengthened.  But I believe after Sundays game, Allen finally had the last straw.  I personally am tired of McKenzie taking one step forward, only to take two steps back.  And I swear it seems like his drops are ALWAYS back-breakers, ie missing a big first down, or costing us bigtime field position losses, whatever.

From what I read, this move was like 99.5% all Josh.  And you know what?  I love it.  My sincerest hope is that this type of move ignites a fire underneath McKenzie, Davis, Knox, Cook, Singletary and even Shakir.  But I really hope it hits McKenzie harder than all, because I simply don't see McDermott going into 2023 with McKenzie playing the way he has.  What's maddening is that the guy possesses unbelievable speed and quickness that is impossible to replace, which is why I'm guessing that he's still on this roster.  But I hope this signing truly opens the eyes of the above mentioned players, and they see that they're going to really have to step things up, and right now.

  7. I don't know what to think/how to feel about this, if in fact it turns out to be true.  My biggest, and probably only questions are, does he help this team win NOW, and is he an upgrade over what we currently have at the position?  I'm ALL about winning at this point, we are in the final stretch of the regular season and for all intents and purposes, preparing for what I hope to be a deep playoff run.  I think it's fair to say, production from the slot receiver position this year has been subpar to say the least.  Before yesterday's game, I swear I was feeling like McKenzie was finally starting to turn it on/show a little bit of consistency, but then he has multiple drops.  Shakir obviously hasn't earned coaches trust in him yet, so I don't know what to think.  And a big part of me wonders if actually hoping for this to happen is more of a battered wife/Bills PTSD syndrome, and I just desperately want production from the position.

He's like a fly trap. If you get near him it triggers and you're done. I think he's the best pass rush finisher we have right now. Remember, he has been out for awhile. So as Von departs, Groot rejoins the party. It might even end up being a + situation. He's developing so quickly.

Love the analogy.  IMO he's without a doubt the best DL on our team.  Yes, his physical tools are a specimen, but what I really love hearing from coaches and players alike is that he's such a student of the game, Frazier and Von specifically come to mind.   Another just really hard to believe tidbit of info....the kid is TWENTY-TWO FREAKIN YEARS OLD!!!  OMG is he even done growing yet?  So many crazy things to think about with this kid in terms of potential.  He played a whopping two games his true freshman year at Miami before suffering a season ending ankle injury.  So his first FULL season, 2019, he begins the year coming off the bench.  Not only does he finish the year as the starting DE, but he wins ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year and finishes the season number TWO in the nation with 15.5 sacks, just one sack shy of the sack leader, who notched 16.5.  In case you were wondering who was number one in the country?  Mr Chase Young.  Not too shabby for a redshirt freshman.  He sits out his entire sophomore year due to Covid.  So basically the kid had one whole year of college ball before declaring for the NFL draft.  If you ask me, he's the defensive equivalent to Josh Allen with regard to pure physical talent.  All the measurables are there.  Now I know this may be a stretch to ask/hope for, but if he makes the progress every year like Josh has, my God.  All jokes aside, when you look in the dictionary next to the phrase, "His potential is limitless.", there should be a big ol picture of him.

He has 7 sacks this year, and I don't see any reason why he can't eclipse double digits.

Meanwhile, Tre Day isn't back to his all-pro form:

Wow.  I had no idea Tre played 100% of the defensive snaps yesterday.  I think this is a good thing as well as bad....good to see that Tre is finally getting closer back to 100% health, also good that the coaches felt comfortable enough to let him play the whole game, that they mutually (Tre and the coaches) felt like him playing the whole game was okay on him physically and didn't risk any additional setbacks.

You know, one thing I personally have truly taken for granted, and have missed with Tre, is him being so darn good out there, being that lockdown CB we needed, and that when he was out there, we could just forget about him, and know he was gonna do his job and take the other team's #1 guy out of the equation.  To me, he was just THAT good, that dependable.  I pray he's one day able to be that guy again.  Saturday would be a beautiful night to start to show that old Tre off, with arguably the top WR in the game coming in, AND playing on a bum ankle.

The only bad from yesterday, the other side, was that at times yesterday I did notice he seeming to have lost a step/got beat more than once. I totally acknowledge he's still slowly working his way back, but it was still a painful observation.  I have much faith that he'll return to the Tre of old eventually.

Despite the allure of their record, the Bills clearly suck and their wins are largely a mirage. I created this list of reasons why. Feel free to add your own by responding to this thread:

    - Dorsey's play calling is terrible and he is unable to craft a game plan to blow other teams out on a regular basis. The early season Dorsey has been figured out

    - Our running game doesn't scare anyone despite the good yards per game. This is largely due to Allen inflating the stats by his LAMP hurdling and 1st down runs. ALl good for TikTok but not something a superbowl-aspiring team needs

    - Allen is clearly not right in his head and elbow. That throw to Brown yesterday was just him heaving it in his general direction and had nothing to do with Gardner's great coverage

    - Hines was a terrible pick up and is just a glorified returner. Don't let the fact that he is being eased into the offense mid-season confuse you

    - Tre White is just collecting a paycheck at this time and using the injury excuse to waddle through the rest of the season

    - Tremaine Edmunds .... well.... he is always invisible despite his size

    - Miller is out and we only have Rousseau who can be easily neutralized with double teams. DCs wont make the same mistakes as the Jets did yesterday

    - This offense is not good enough for the Superbowl and the snarky "Okay" by Allen doesn't alter that absolute, undeniable FACT

I am sure we will have more to add after every win.

😄 Good stuff man!  I tell you what, this is truly a great feeling to be sitting at 10-3 with four games left to play, number one in the division AND number one in the conference.  I swear I was just looking at some of these posts, and if you were an outsider and didn't know our record, you'd think we were 6-7, or maybe 8-8 and fighting for our playoff lives.  I know a ton can happen in four short weeks, but I feel like we're definitely trending upwards in several areas, not gonna mention them in particular because I don't want to jinx us, but you know where I'm going.  This truly a grand feeling, and the fact that we have to nitpick about so many things that we think are wrong with this team is actually a testament to how solid we are.  We haven't hit our ceiling by a long shot guys.  I'm too excited about: a)where we are, b)where we've come from and what we've gone through this year to get to this point, and c)where we can take this.

Enjoy these times fellow Bills fans.  As much as the players have earned where they're at right now, so the eff have we!

    🎉🥳

Well especially this time of year?

While not a perfect performance yesterdays game reminded me a little of watching early 90s home games as a kid.  I’d have to look it up but I thought the team was 8-0 at home most of the Super Bowl years.  Opponents have to face the cold and possibly rainy weather without sunlight like yesterday, the loud fanbase, and a real nasty defense.  Btw I thought all the hits on White were clean.  While still knowing they’ll have to play their A game to have a chance to win.

Even from a non homer perspective now I wouldn’t want any part of playing in Buffalo as an opponent.  While my thread was based off nostalgia for watching childhood games….  it shows as well though how important having the number 1 seed would be

I say this with absolutely zero homerism here, those hits on white were perfectly legal, perfectly timed, and perfect form.  The reason I can say it so easily?  Those hits were so vicious, had they even been REMOTELY questionable, the refs would've quickly thrown the flag.  In a league where you can barely breathe on a QB nowadays, they are overly protected and coddled.  Those hits were just flat out perfect.  The refs had no choice but to leave the flags in their pockets.  I swear on that Milano hit I think I spit up a little bit of blood for him lol.

  14. Morning fellow Bills fans!

Rich Cimini of ESPN with his "Bold Prediction" for the game today.  My apologies if someone has already posted this:

Bold prediction: The Jets, one of 10 teams that haven't scored a defensive touchdown, will end the streak on a pick-six by cornerback Sauce Gardner. The rookie gets his hands on a lot of footballs (15 passes defended) but hasn't had an interception since Week 9 against the Bills, one of 11 thrown by Allen this season. Look for Gardner, known for his sticky coverage, to pick Allen again. -- Rich Cimini

I mean I guess you gotta throw something outlandish out there and hope it sticks when this is your 9-5 lol.  Let me be one of the first to admit that Sauce has performed exceptionally well this year, exceeding probably many people's expectations of him.  Personally, I was completely enamored with him coming out.  His measurables, speed, everything about him was off the charts, and I secretly dreamed we'd somehow land him.  But for all the praise being heaped upon him, am I the only one who feels like he gets away with a TON of holding/PI calls?  I even sometimes wonder if the refs are intentionally turning a blind eye to some of the crap this kid is doing?  Soooo many occasions he just flat out fails to even turn around, while draped all over the WR.  And yes, call me a homer for saying this, but after watching replays of that last attempt by Allen to Davis, I'd say it was definitely worthy of a flag.

Now, the kid's been reading his own press clippings too much, because he's apparently upset with Jets fans he doesn't have higher pro bowl vote totals.... 😂

I'm SERIOUSLY hoping either Stef or Gabe or both of them burns this kid multiple times today.

I agree until you get to underthrown or overthrown, or at least the implications of that.  I've come to believe, actually, I think, understand, that NO ONE throws the ball in one-square-yard window consistently.  Accuracy at that distance is a relative thing, and the ball only LOOKS mover or under or perfect.  Great accuracy at that distance is getting it within a somewhat bigger window than that.  It just looks accurate, depending on how the receiver adjusts to the ball and other factors, including where the defenders are and what they do.   Perfect at that distance, or even close to perfect, is impossible.

Mahomes is accurate, and he appears to "miss" on his share.  Rodgers does, Brady does.  The difference between the best QBs and all the others is how often they get it within that window.

Very well stated....no argument whatsoever from me on that post.

Call me being greedy, but that's definitely an aspect I'd love to see Allen and Diggs connect on more, is the long ball.  From everything I do see, there have been several instances at least that I have seen Diggs flat out burn his man, and even though the completion is made, he's had to come back to the ball.  Again, this is me just being greedy, and nitpicking.
