  1. Not to hijack this thread but we will be in Buffalo for the first time ever for the Vikings game. Really only have Saturday and then Sunday after the game to experience Buffalo. Looking for a good place to catch some college football and eat wings on Saturday. I've heard Bar Bill, Duff's or Gabriel's Gate, are any of these good places to sit for a few hours with TV's/various games on? Thanks for any insight.
  2. I'm assuming Tre White will be back for this game? What a matchup that could be with Jefferson / Thielen. Run D needs to get back to early season form. Hoping Milano and maybe Poyer back? That would make a big difference. I think offense will rebound, we have so much talent on that side of the ball. This will be my first ever Bills home game I attend, so it will be a win! Weather forecast looks lovely by the way....
  3. Thanks, that is our worry. Since we are flying in from different parts of the country, we don't want to risk not getting decent seats. Just shocked at the prices, I went to the Jacksonville game last year and could have high-fived the players and paid $150 per seat.
  4. Looking for some advice on this topic: I have been a Bills fan for almost 40 years and now my friend and I are going to our first ever Bills home game vs the Vikings (and first ever trip to the city of Buffalo). Ticket prices seem absolutely insane to me, as this is our first home Bills game, we really do want to get lower bowl seats if possible. As some have indicated, $400+ seems to be the going rate with all the fees, any chance the price will go down or do we need to bite the bullet? Or are there other ticket sites I should check? We already have flights/hotel so this is game (Vikings) is our only option. Thanks for any advice! GO BILLS!
  5. This seems like one of those games where the Bills come out ready to play, mad at the world and everything just falls into place and they pull out a win against one of the top teams in the NFL. Of course it's more likely one of those games where the Bills come out unprepared, undisciplined, outmuscled and outcoached throughout. I'll go with 34 - 9 Cards win, hope I'm wrong.
  6. Unfortunately, Jets win 24 - 6. Tyrod looked lost out there against Baltimore and Jets D is much better. I thought our D played reasonably well considering how weak we are at linebacker and safety. I think we are bottom 5 in the league in terms of roster depth, cannot afford anymore injuries or suspensions.
  7. I think TuneIn Premium now offers live NFL play-by-play for the games. It's around $8/month. There is a 7 day free trial available.
  8. If anyone has an extra code they are not using to give away or sell, please PM me. I am in FL and was planning on paying for TuneIn Premium to get the live radio feed, but it would also be nice to be able to watch the games after the fact - well at least the wins.
  9. Thanks for everything #22! What a classy guy and always seemed to gain positive yards even behind horrible offensive lines. I'm so disappointed he never tasted the playoffs with us. That being said, this can be seen as a good sign, this team actually has enough RB depth to cut a guy like Fred Jackson. Personally, I was hoping he would be our Jerome Bettis-type guy to get the tough yards, 3rd-down outlet and blitz pickup. However, he did look slow on his run on Saturday and there is just so much talent at RB on this team this year.
  10. Maybe they want to pick up Thad Lewis....he did beat them twice last season.
  11. Love the optimism some of you are showing, but let's look at the facts: - New Coaches - New System - Rookie QB - Rookie LB calling the defensive plays - Very inexperienced LB and DB corps overall going against arguably - Top Coach of the last decade - Top QB of the last decade - Strong running game we have not been able to stop - Very strong DTs and LBs for NE. I predict 45 - 19 for the Patsies, busy day for Carpenter (4 FGs) and probably a TD from Special Teams. I think we will see tons of three and outs, putting our defense on the field an awful lot and getting tired early. I'd be happy if we see some positive play from Manuel and I'd rather have him take his licks early on in the season against a team we probably wouldn't beat anyway. Also hoping for the secondary to prove me wrong, but they are my biggest worry right now.
  12. Trying that this year, too. Hopefully, it is as straightforward as it appears and allows watching on tablet or maybe even PS3? Amazon still has preorders available.
  13. I'm shocked by all the votes for Manuel, living in FL and having watched more of his games than any other of the QBs, I can say this would be a horrible decision. He has had "potential" since he arrived at FSU and never has lived up to the expectations. I don't think he has the ability to process information quickly enough and I don't think this coaching staff wants a QB who will need at least 3 years to POSSIBLY develop into a starting QB. I would rather see Landry Jones in the 3rd if we want someone to develop. I would be most comfortable with Barkley if we must pick a QB at 8.
  14. I imagine it will be B. Scott as you mentioned on obvious passing downs, and looking at the other options probably the best suited. I don't think whoever is covering him will get too much help from the safeties what with them probably also having to account for Driver/Jennings. Either way, I predict Finley will have a huge game, as most elite TE's usually do against us.
  15. I re-watched the game as well (even worse the 2nd time around), and I am surprised how many of you are criticizing the poor O-line play on passing downs. They weren't very good, but to tell the truth, I expected much worse. I was more disheartened by the lack of holes in the running game, but then again Miami did stack the line most plays. Also wish Chan would have just continued pounding the ball with the RBs, even for limited gain, I think he "out-thunk" himself with all those pass calls. On most passing plays I thought the O-line provided a decent pocket for Trent to operate in. However, as someone else pointed out Miami really didn't bring that much pressure. Don't know whether to blame Trent or the play-calling, probably both, but that ball needs to get out of there faster. It was also really frustrating to see Trent run out of the pocket so many times instead of stepping up into the pocket. I'm really concerned about Trent's confidence though, his passes looked hesitant and weak, not surprised so many of them were batted down and several of them should have been picked off for 6 the other way.
  16. I was so supremely disappointed after those first three plays of the game and especially that sack there. Little has changed, awful play calling, awful blocking, clueless QB, and all of 20 seconds off the game clock. Am I the only one who thought we had a better chance of scoring whenever the D was on the field. I just felt like Florence/McKelvin would take one of Henne's forced passes to Marshall to the house. Sad state of our offense to feel that way I guess.
  17. Great observations, I would add that the coaching/playcalling was piss-poor this game. Where are the scripted plays to start off the game and give Trent some confidence, which he needs in a bad way if he should continue to start. I don't really have much faith in the other two stooges we have at QB either. Our depth really is frightening on offense. I really liked the play of Florence and McKelvin, great intensity and tough tackling. Didn't see much of McGee but I'm guessing that's a good thing for a DB. Overall, I loved the play of the Defense, albeit against a weak Miami offense and gameplan, bend but don't break describes them perfectly. However, I did see quite a few missed tackles and poor attempts at tackles throughout the game, back to teaching the basics for some of our players?
  18. I also thought the Dolphins looked terrible, poor play selection on their part, had they run it exclusively the entire game, they might have worn out our D and scored way more points. I think this was our most winnable game for quite a few weeks. I felt really bad for our D, to play as tough as they did (allowing only 13 points without any support or field position from the offense) and then go to the sidelines and watch Trent lose yardage and go 3 and out again and again must be demoralizing. The FEW positives to take out of this game are: - the D did their part and played their hearts out. - the offensive line wasn't as bad as I expected. - special teams coverage units were better than I expected. The negatives are huge though: - Trent just doesn't have any confidence and doesn't understand game situations. He will not throw the ball away when a play is busted, will never throw a 50-50 ball and let his receiver make a play and has no sense/feeling of the pressure or how to avoid it when in the pocket. (Save your comments about the O-line play, they are not all-stars but on most plays Trent had more than enough time to make a pass.) He looked hesitant, indecisive and extremely disappointing. Not sure where that one drive of excellence came from, but for me that is too little, too late. - Poor coaching - I thought this would improve under Gailey, yes they are stacking the line and daring you to pass..I don't care run it anyway! The RB's on our team are too good to ignore in the offensive game plan. Run the ball, run the ball and run it some more, then maybe you can use some playaction and a deep pass to Evans.
  19. Some truth to this, I think Evans is still a solid receiver - he is just too small to help out Trent and this offense, which seems to rely on short outs and passes to the flat exclusively. This offense just screams for a dominant Tight End, of which we have none, figures....
  20. I have to say I love the optimism by some of you guys, unfortunately 10+ years of underperforming has made me be very careful with my predictions. 09/12 MIAMI DOLPHINS 1:00 pm - CLOSE LOSS (Dolphins offense is much better than ours right now and our run D will suffer) 09/19 @ Green Bay Packers 1:00 pm - LOSS (Superior offense again will doom us - won't be able to keep up with the scoring) 09/26 @ New England Patriots 1:00 pm - LOSS (We won't beat them @ NE) 10/03 NEW YORK JETS 1:00 pm - WIN (If Sanchez is still playing by this time we win, if Brunell is starting we might lose) 10/10 JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS 1:00 pm - WIN (Two wins in a row, we are getting some momentum) 10/17 BYE 10/24 @ Baltimore Ravens 1:00 pm - LOSS (Back to reality...) 10/31 @ Kansas City Chiefs 1:00 pm - LOSS (KC is much improved and has a fantastic running game) 11/07 CHICAGO BEARS (Toronto) 1:00 pm - LOSS (We could win this one, but I sense at this point of the season our team will be in disarray due to QB controversy, poor run D and crappy O-line.) 11/14 DETROIT LIONS 1:00 pm - WIN (I think we win a close one against Detroit, I think they are at about the same level of talent as our team) 11/21 @ Cincinnati Bengals 1:00 pm - LOSS (Unless the Bengals have tons of injuries, they are probably still playing for something at this point.) 11/28 PITTSBURGH STEELERS 1:00 pm - WIN (A surprise win by the Bills, I think the Steelers will struggle this year, injury prone players and aging - win for us.) 12/05 @ Minnesota Vikings 1:00 pm - LOSS (Too much talent on the Vikes for us to hang) 12/12 CLEVELAND BROWNS 1:00 pm - LOSS (we lose a close one, Browns want it more) 12/19 @ Miami Dolphins 1:00 pm - WIN (Beat Miami at home, they will be out of playoff contention by this time and have mulitple injuries to deal with.) 12/26 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS 1:00 pm - LOSS (NE will be playing to clinch division) 01/02 @ New York Jets 1:00 pm - LOSS (JETS will have chance at Wild Card spot and this game will mean more for them, meanwhile Fitzpatrick/Brohm probably starting for us, due to Trent injury/suckitude) So 5-11 and a top 10 pick in next years draft. I sure hope I'm wrong with most of these losses but I haven't seen anything in the preseason that tells me: A. we can stop the run B.we can rush the passer C. Trent will look deep more than once/twice a game D. the line will keep him healthy I just don't think we can be very competitive without any of those points improving remarkably.
  21. As an actual UCF season ticket holder, I have to say Troup is a solid pick, yeah, maybe a little high for what the analysts were saying but he fills a major need. UCF was much like the Bills last year, horrible offense especially QB play but the D kept them in most games and Troup was the key cog in the middle. He made Bruce Miller (UCF DE) look like Bruce Smith at times.
  22. Nice to see some people who know a little about football in this thread. Ellison is a major weakness on defense and Mitchell has played a hell of a lot better. I find it almost unbearable to watch how opposing teams run and pass on Ellison all game long. Granted, he does his best and every now and then makes a big play. But he is way too small and weak for what he is asked to do. The sad part is I don't think we have anyone on our roster who can do a better job at this point. LB was a weakness heading into the season and still is. Now with a depleted secondary it could get ugly.
  23. Actually, they are playing VENEZUELA, if it were Argentina it would be an extremely fun game to watch (even though we would most likely get our asses kicked). However, Venezuela is one of the weakest teams in South America, maybe a good confidence boost for our guys.
  24. My first post... I did come across an article on Nate Clements. Nice talk about teamwork, let's just hope he's on the team next year. Nate Clements Article on IGN.com
