I dont disagree that he might try to get up there but I think it will be difficult to get up there. Really the teams that would be willing to trade are maybe Atlanta, Chicago(if they don't want Odunze themselves), Tennessee(looking OT and can still get one at 28) and maybe if Odunze slips to 12 Denver is in play. Those seem like really the only options.

I also think there is a good possibility that Arizona trades down but with NYG instead of Minnesota so they can grab another premium pick while still getting Nabers or Odunze at 6. I just see it as an unlikely road not impossible but unlikely. I would love Odunze as I have him as my # 2 WR.

I was and am still on the McConkey train for the Bills as well. I just have a huge gut feeling that the pick is going to be Keon Coleman. The more I think about it the more he fits their model of person and he is different than what they have in the room.

He does a lot of things the Bills would love. He's a hard worker, hes a great teammate, he's a leader in the Florida State locker room, he's a big WR that they don't have, he goes out of his way to block instead of just standing there. Those are the little things the Bills love. His greatest strength is YAC ability, something the Bills have struggled with and continue to struggle with so hopefully he would mitigate that issue. On top of that Keon Coleman is 20 years old and there is a lot of evidence that the Bills love taking younger players with their first round picks and Coleman definitely fits that mold as he'll be 21 years old when the season starts. He could be another interchangeable part for the Bills playing inside and outside the numbers and he is a good athlete as he played both D1 Basketball and Football.

This doesn't include the fact that the Bills met with him at the Combine and then brought him in for a 30 visit as well. He's not my # 1 choice and maybe I'm looking too much into it but Coleman checks a lot of the Bills character and player arch boxes.

Well reasoned, though I really do not like Coleman. I don't see him as likely to be an effective boundary receiver, and I think his best chance to flourish is as a big slot, so he would require Kincaid being off the field to be successful. Maybe that's wrong, but that's how I see it. I'd rather they traded up reasonably high for Thomas. Yet one more week of trying to figure all the angles. Watch him take Cooper Dejean.

They have visited at the combine and visited with Franklin, Worthy, Coleman, BTJ, and Walker. Supposedly McConkey has met 3 times but no combine or 30 visit so maybe pro day, senior bowl for him.

Mitchell and Legette a Combine interview but no announce workout or visit yet.

It wouldn't be a total shock if Beane trades up big for Odunze if he falls to #9. There's no need to broadcast that option if he is in fact contemplating its possibility. Too many unknowns have to fall into place before it could be enacted. More likely, he trades up for Thomas, or waits at #28. McConkey is, and should be in play. All that being put out just now on Mitchell, the timing of it is suspicious. Maybe it's all true and that data just exacerbates the questions about him, but it's awfully convenient if you are a team that wants him to fall within range.

I still think they need two early (top 40 or so picks) invested at WR, regardless of other needs. Shakir and Samuel are only nice pieces if they are not counted on to be WR2, imo. I highly doubt Beane is going to let Davis go and trades Diggs without a plan that is more than a wing and a prayer. It would also be irresponsible to just give up on a season of Josh Allen's prime.

They target arm length and wingspan at the position. Groot and AJ were in the top 3 DE's in that category, both in the high 80 and 90th percentile in that category. It wasn't by some accident.

Kneeland is this year and they already hosted him for a visit in Buffalo. So as much as I would also hate this pick I don't think it's very far fetched. We have shown it's a position we will invest heavily in. We have need. We have shown interest in Kneeland and his profile is similar to two players we drafted prior. Don't shoot the messenger.

I like McConkey a lot. He really stepped up when Bowers went down. I think he can do a lot of things for us.

You're making a case for Kneeland in the second. They're not taking him at #28. Taking everything that's been said, I think the possibility of McConkey has gone up, which is fine by me.

What people are forgetting with all this “great WR class” talk, there will be some busts mixed in…even in the 1st & 2nd rounds. Who will they be and who would you avoid drafting in the first two rounds?

Pretty sure that is common knowledge. The passions involved in arguing for or against particular prospects is motivated by that awareness. No one really knows how a specific individual will turn out, and so much of it depends on incalculable factors. The best you can do is try to find the best fit of talent, character, and scheme, and hope you can get the fella that matches. If you have a larger point, I'm not sure what it is. Do you think folks should just shut up or stifle their enthusiasm because it might not work out?

Love Thomas. Could easily be one of the top 3 imo. Could I put him there and take one of the others out and I don’t think it makes any difference really. I’d be all for a move up to 10ish for one of the top 3. Around the 15-18 mark for Thomas. After that I’d stay where we’re at and go with one of the following, Worthy, Mitchell, Franklin. If there’s a trade down for extra picks and none of those guys are there I’m all for Polk, Legette, McConkey.

I would love to find a way to get both Thomas and McConkey. My second choice is McConkey and Legette. I think if they go for just one, Beane will trade up for Thomas.

    My WR crush process worked like this;

    1. Thought Xavier Legette was the prettiest girl in school until...

    2. Troy Franklin caught me eye.  I knew he was the one.....until...

    3. I flirted briefly with Keon Coleman.  Picture him in the Bill's embedded arriving from the airport.  But he's slow...a deal-breaker for me. Moving on...

    4. I fell hard for Tez Walker.  But....

    5. Jermaine Burton seemed so perfect.  I heard he's a jerk though.  So...

    6. Ladd McConkey was next. It's so clear.  Checks every box.  Problem is...maybe we can do better.

    7.  Screw it.  Go get Rome.  I mean, have you seen his interviews?  He's so cool!!  I'm all in.  On second thought, he costs a ton.

    8. Just stick with Ladd.  C'mon it's a no-brainer.  It's just that I wanted a big guy.

    9. Trade down.  Of course!! Ja'lynn Polk and Roman Wilson are attractive.

    10. C'mon it's Ladd.  It's always been Ladd.  It always will be Ladd.

    11.  Why am I thinking about Xavier Legette this morning?  I thought I was over him.

    12.  Kansas City better not get Ladd .

    13.  I hate all these guys.  I'm sick of thinking about this.  I can't stop thinking about this.  I forgot my wife's name.

    14.  I wonder what Ladd is doing right now.

Stick with Ladd. He'll play golf with you, too.

I'm leaning more and more to the idea that,  if the Bills keep pick 28,  it will be McConkey.  Just in terms of pre-draft visits the last few years,  they seem to have a significant preference for these types of speed/quickness/route-running types early and less apparent concern for height/weight.  Ignoring the top 3 that they have no shot at,  McConkey seems like the best overall of that sub-group,  IMO,  and I think I've about settled on him as WR 5 in this draft.

If they can add both him and Legette,  I'd definitely be happy.  I'm just not sure how.  I think we're more likely looking at McConkey OR Legette at 28 and maybe whatever is left at 60 or one of the better mid-round prospects in a trade into R3.

You're definitely trading up from #60 if you want Legette. It will cost you a 2025 2nd, probably. Maybe Polk is there if you wait. #60 is not a great spot in the draft.

I have a hard time seeing him making it to 40. I struggle with the question of would it be better to get the big guy first and maybe then try for a Wilson or Pearsall? I think it would be a miracle to get Ladd and Legette.

I think McConkey is significantly better than Wilson, and better than Pearsall. My feeling is you could make an argument for Mitchell and certainly for Thomas, but you'd have to trade up for him. If the stipulation is you start by staying at #28, I like McConkey, then try to get the big fella WR in the second. Maybe it costs you more than the second, if you need to get above #40 for Legette. Someone like Walker would be my fallback if I miss out on Legette.

I agree with this. Question is how far up can they get?...and what would it take?

I think you'd have to count on spending a 2025 second. I think that could get you around pick #40.

Something has to give right? I can’t see the Bills depending on a 2nd round WR prospect to replace Diggs, which is what we’ll draft at 28.

    It’s really fascinating to me.

I think if they stick at #28, Beane ought to take McConkey. Then trade up in the second to secure Legette, presuming he doesn't sneak into the first round. McConkey is a top 5 or 6 WR, imo, and I think he can be a volume WR his first year.

    4. Buffalo Bills (mock trade with Arizona): MARVIN HARRISON JR., WIDE RECEIVER, OHIO STATE

Harrison, the son of Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison, was the best WR on the field last season. His stock has slipped some because he skipped offseason workouts but his tape is enough. The Bills are under pressure to win a Super Bowl and need a No. 1 wideout after trading Stefon Diggs.

    This blockbuster deal sends pick No. 28, a second-rounder (60), a fourth (128), a fifth (160) and a 2025 first and second to Arizona for No. 4 and a 2025 fourth.

I can't really see Beane paying that price and having nothing beyond a collection of day 3 picks for the rest of the draft. It's certainly a push all your chips in move.

I pealed back on projection status for these guys. Makes sense if he is looking to go sooner. I know he was mocked past the 3rd round a few months ago but as far as current value I really have no idea. I'm a pretty big college football nut and he caught my eye. Most people thought he would be Taylor 2.0.  Lots of good backs in this class. I was hoping Ashton Jeanty would come out but he's staying with Boise another year. He's going to be a fun guy to track next year.

Yeah, I was pushing for Allen a few months ago, but it just seems unlikely he will be available when we are thinking of taking a RB.

thats the most pissed off and fired up I’ve ever seen Adams. I really liked almost everything he said.

It sounds like he has a very clear vision of who he wants as the next head coach and I’m no longer worried it’s going to be another inexperienced coach.

He said NHL head coaching experience is #1 (finally!!). He wants an experienced veteran that can show this team how to take the next step. And he wants someone that’s going to set a standard and hold the players accountable. He said the team is craving structure/discipline/accountability.

refreshing press conference. It’s long but really worth a listen.

Listened to the whole thing. It was a good presser. They had to make a change. I hope it's just the beginning and that KA is willing to trade some assets for NHL ready players. Also, I don't think all the "core" players should be off the table if an opportunity presents itself.

Sure. I don't mean rebuild in a bad way. The Chiefs won two Super Bowls in a row during their rebuild. I just mean fill the pipeline with young talent and don't spend a lot of cap space on older players.

That's my preference, but it implicitly should stipulate two WRs early in the draft. If Beane is only getting one and a day 3 lottery ticket, he needs to add a veteran.

I don't know how the Bills see him, I'm just saying what my strategy would be. I see a lot of Bills fans and content creators saying we have to come away with an edge rusher by the end of the 2nd round because it's a clear weakness on the team. But the draft class is what it is. People talk themselves into a Marshawn Kneeland because there just aren't many options.

I think a lot of people have the concept of a deep or not deep class backwards. People say WRs are deep, edge rushers aren't, therefore we should take an edge rusher early and wait on WR. That's the wrong mindset. A deep WR class means that at any one of our picks there is likely to be a WR who matches the value of the pick, and the exact inverse for edge rushers. Choosing to take an edge rusher early in this draft means you're probably passing on a better talent just to fill a perceived need. I would rather skip the position entirely than make that mistake and regret it later, like when we stupidly traded up for Cody Ford instead of DK Metcalf.

You're right about so much, but then you want to take Coleman

The Bills have had him in for a Top 30 visit so they must have some interest in him … so are you saying they view him as a Day 3 option?

I don’t see him lasting that long …and I am suggesting picking Kneeland with their third pick in the third round … which will require some moving around the board considering that pick doesn’t exist yet …whether this is considered a reach or not is opinion at this stage … we will see how the draft and the player subsequently turns out …

Hoping that Miller improves concerns me as a strategy …he is 35 and looked terrible last year … he is not even close to being 50 percent of his pre injury level ,,,.but again as I have mentioned … I’m sure they have better information on his progress

If there is any doubt about Miller ,,, they need a better strategy then picking a leftover on Day 3..

Yeah, I'd be okay taking him with a third if we manage to manufacture one.

Allen is the guy I  like. In 2022 and 2023 Allen was considered the centerpiece of Wisconsin's offense. He was heralded as the next Wisconsin stud running back. Bigger more powerful runner but plenty of athleticism. When the Badgers switched to the spread this year it took them awhile to get the offense going. So a little more underrated than what we likely would have seen if they didn't go thru such a huge offensive transition.

Schrader is also hard not to like. Strikes me a process guy thru his bones. He was durable for Mizzo. Great pass catcher as well. I watched his entire performance vs the Volunteers and he stole the show. Impressive what he was able to do against the SEC.

Lots of folks like Allen. No way he lasts till the fifth round, and he could easily go day 2.

I like Kendall Milton. He runs upright, which isn't the best, but he's a big, tough back. He'd be an excellent day 3 RB.

If mock drafts and current adp is to be believed, i still believe Burton is a first round talent that can be had in the 2nd round. He passes the eye test and has the speed, burst, size, body control, hands you are looking for in a top end wr. He played in the SEC and regularly separated from top end dbs but played with a qb that was limited as a passer. If it were not for “character concerns”, Burton goes in the back end of round 1. The Bills will have to figure out if this guy is a head case or if the concerns have been over exaggerated. If they think he can fit in with the locker room, then I would jump at the chance of getting Burton in the second all day long.

Not giving away big time assets to move up in first would allow the Bills to maneuver the board in the second and third and maybe grab a second wr like Polk, Leggett, Persall etc to pair with Burton. There are other positional players like DT Fiske that I would love to see the Bills draft but if they traded up for a wr in the first we are looking at just having day 3 picks left this year.

I watched a podcast on the WRs in the draft, and the folks doing the analysis mentioned that Burton has been to six or eight schools going back to his high school days, so he has never stayed put for any extended period of time. They did not know what it meant, but you'd have to do your due diligence on the fella. The red flags for character may be more than slapping a Tennessee fan on the field.
