  1. Bills Fever: He did it again! Amazingly talented artist Eric Jones has created a snow-packed Josh Allen masterpiece in Cuba, NY (Allegany County) out of all the snow that fell here at the start of the week. The snow sculpture is 8 feet by 12 feet and is stunning! Jones, who lives in nearby West Clarksville, confessed to me a week ago that he was concerned due to the lack of snow so far this winter—all of that changed with Sunday night’s snowstorm. You can see this wintry work of art here at the Block Barn on South Street. Eric molded the sculpture Tuesday, carved it yesterday and talented artist Vincent Alejandro painted the sculpture this morning. This is terrific!

I’ve never been, and am seriously looking to get out of NYS before sh!t hits the fan...any help would be appreciated...thanks! 👍

Stay North - to avoid the worst of the heat - Jacksonville and environs.  St. Augustine gets pricey. Palm Coast is OK.

Stay away from Gainesville and Tallahasee (college towns)

IF you have to go south - Melbourne and Port St. Lucie are cool

I am not familiar with the Gulf Coast

I left the strip one summer day, and by the time we got to the Reservation it FELT like winter. It must have dropped 25 degrees. I had to buy the worlds UGLIEST sweatshirt to stay warm, which it felt like it was kind of a joke on us tourists.  That thing went to Goodwill as soon as we got home, but should have stayed in the hotel room!

Never did the train ride, but I am curious about those upscale trains thru beautiful scenery and mountains. Like Orient Express, but nobody gets killed hopefully. Also interested in an Alaskan cruise as I know the wife would like that, but then we are likely dealing with borders and such again with Canada. It can be fine when you leave, but the situation is so fluid I don’t know what to trust.

Been to  Alaska twice on cruises - unbelievable. Most cruise lines only stop in Vancouver to cover the casino clause - You don't have to get off. Go to Anchorage - take the train to Seward - board there. If you have a lot of time - you can go to Denali - but it is just a mountain

I have twice, on trips to Vegas, taken the helicopter ride into the Grand Canyon for a little picnic. It is both breathtaking and humbling! (On the second trip friends surprised us with this rather extravagant adventure, and we didn’t have the heart to let on that we had done it before!)

I've been 3 times (once in the winter). The train ride from Williams is a must.

I would go again tomorrow. Humbling barely describes it :)

It looks like our trip to Italy/Croatia and the Windstar cruise in a few months is not going to happen. AGAIN! We first booked it about three years ago, and this will be the second time it’s been canceled. VERY frustrating!

I don’t want to steer this in any direction by saying where we’ve been previously because I’m open to all options, but generally want to see new places. I just don’t want to have to deal with borders and getting stranded anywhere due to Covid. I will say, we like fairly nice accommodations and are not camping type people. I’m curious about any great cities, parks and/or resorts. Our son’s honeymoon had to go to Plan B as they couldn’t make Italy work either. They had a great time in a location I’ll withhold for now.

Where have you been that you really enjoyed? I’m curious to hear all your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

    .

If you have not been to the Grand Canyon - shame on you  :)

  6. Now that NYS is finally allowing on-line wagering - does anyone have advice on which one is best?

    I see : Fan Duel

               Draft Kings

               Caesars

               BetMGM

Any feedback? I am not a big bettor - but like to have some action.

    Thanks

wow. By the way, tell kids these days that story and their reaction will be, “wait— Wendy’s has a salad bar?”

(I spent years in HS working at Wendy’s, including stocking and re-stocking that salad bar.”).

    And Red Barn

I was then on the "new" UB North Campus in the Ellicott dorms

The radio media made it like a countdown of doom - and they were right on schedule - white out

My girl friend (now wife) went on a smokes/beer run with her posse and got into an auto accident while coming back from the 7-11 on Millersport Highway. Campus Security deposited her in my dorm room for the rest of the week.

I worked part time for the dorm authority - They had me deputize friends for keeping the fire doors shoveled, pick up the worst of the garbage and make sure there was enough toilet paper - it was a fun few days

The supply of booze & smokes was paramount - and one of the local pizza places did business off a snowmobile

    Good Times

  9. I am in with a large contingent of my hometown friends from all around the country. We would be interested in buying tickets with the group and doing a bus trip to and from either PB Ale House or Gaslamp Tavern. I live across from Qualcomm so if anyone has any questions don't hesitate to PM me.

the Chargers had plenty of tickets left last season and with the lockout - season tix renewals are down about 30% (unofficial sources) due to the lockout

They will not be getting much of a rebound after that due the the team's lackluster play in 2010

The Chargers are already running season tix commercials on TV - mini packs will probably be next

  10. I used to check this thing every day for a while, and I can't anymore. One week you're saying SUPERBOWL! next week, you're complaining about how bad we suck. If we win convincingly next week everyone is going to be like, "Trent's our guy! I love AVP! 10-6!" (just like last week). If we lose, people are going to say "blah blah we hate jauron, trentative edwards sucks, we're doomed forever". I love the Bills, but I'm not proud to call myself a Bills fan at all. Stop buying tickets if you don't like the product on the field. Anybody have anything original to talk about?

Is it too late to bring back RJ / DF ? <_<

  11. Dear Dr. TBD,

I made a mistake and used some bad posture for an extended period on a laptop. Ever since, I have had a stiff neck and pain shooting down my arm. I went to MD and he gave me pain meds that didn't work and his next step was for me to go for an MRI to deterimine if I have a pinched nerve. For a few reasons, I don't want to get an MRI, but I need some relief.

I'm looking for feedback good or bad about going to a DC. Thanks...Jim

For a long time, I beleived in chiropractors - and still do not discount their skills,

But - I had a shoulder injury and after 4 visits to 2 differnet practioners that did nothing - I threw a coin in the air and tried accupuncture - 2 visits - and I was "cured" after 6 months of pain - and the needles don't even hurt. They have their science - have to get a 4 year degree and are as profesional as the others.

I go back now every few weeks (work paid after deductible) and thoroughly reccomend it -

Try it - with an open mind
