  1. As it should be. 35 consecutive regular season games of losing by one score or less. We are always in these contests. The next closest coach has like 13.
  2. Odunze is my pipe dream for the next draft. I'd also like to see them send a late rounder to Baltimore for Rashod Bateman who seems to have been forgotten in their offense.
  3. Can anyone confirm Buffalo lost a third round comp pick by signing Harris? If so, that is a HUGE mistep by Brandon Beane...unbelievable.
  4. Devin Singletary can make guys miss in a phone booth. He is incredible in avoiding the first defender at the very least. No, he does not have top end speed, but he is a far superior player to Harris. Harris is the definition of average NFL RB. He will get exactly what is blocked, nothing more, nothiing less. The Patriots drafted his replacement in Rhamondre and signed James Robinson. I don't get all the love for Harris. He is just a guy. If Buffalo paid him a larger contract than Motor I will be extremely annoyed with Brandon Beane.
  5. Buffalo needs a backup who can step in and play immediately. Give me Jameis Winston for when Allen gets himself injured with his reckless scrambles.
  6. Josh Allen is constantly putting himself into danger with his body. He's fearless, but it's going to get him killed one day. Having a talent like Winston would salvage a season if the worst case scenario presented itself, is a smart play. Barkley just isn't someone who can win games.
  7. It looks like Jameis Winston may be relegated to backup duties this year, and the Bills will be in the hunt for a playoff run. My contention is we need a solid backup behind Josh Allen, especially with how reckless he is with his body. Having Jameis would give us a nice safety net if the worst case scenario should arise, or if Allen proves he just doesn't have it after a good portion of the season goes by. Why not bring him in as a nice insurance policy?
  8. He had a 23-20 record as a starter for us, often times with a lousy supporting cast. Taylor completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 8,857 yards with 51 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, and he was a masterful runner who often saved plays by escaping the pass rush to pick up first downs. He wasn't Aaron Rodgers, but his production won't be as easy to replace as many feel. Plus, the man literally led the Bills to playoffs for the first time in 17 years and the team sent him packing, smh.
  9. There's no reason why Buffalo couldn't have brought him back for a year while Allen gains experience. Next season has the potential to be disastrous without the security blanket of having a proven professional like Tyrod around.
  10. I'm curious how the Tyrod story would have developed if Buffalo didn't continually lose his most effective offensive weapons for one reason or another. Is it any coincidence he looked best with Watkins, Woods, Harvin, Hogan, Karlos Williams, and Goodwin? Buffalo gave him nothing to work with last year whatsoever beyond Shady. Is he elite? No, he is not. But Tyrod can win games for you with the right supporting cast.
  11. Is it being reported we signed him or is this comedy?
  12. 49ers get Jimmy G for one second round pick. We burn a 1st and 2 2s on the next Joe Flacco...brilliant!
  13. The classic example is hall of famer Brett Favre who had a completion percentage of 52.4% coming out of Southern Mississippi. He and Stafford should be viewed as anomalies, however. The vast majority of inaccurate passers DO NOT overcome this weakness. I've never been more disappointed in a Bills draft in my life. SMH
  14. Dan Marino scored a 16 on the Wonderlic and Jim Kelly scored a 15. I believe Ryan Fitzpatrick and Blaine Gabbert have the highest scores ever. The test has no correlation between high scores and on-field production.
  15. It would be foolish to think media attention and hype doesn't lead to more ticket sales. Even if you don't think it will improve the team on the field, the Bills will want those extra ratings and sales. I think Manziel is a better talent than AJ and Peterman and there is little if any downside to bringing him into camp and letting him have a shot.
  16. There is little to zero downside to bringing him into camp and seeing first hand if he's changed or merely acting for the cameras. On the flip side, the guy was one of the greatest college players of this generation and a first round pick in the NFL draft. Odds are he probably won't be the answer, but it wouldn't hurt to kick the tires on him when you are looking at AJ McCarron, Peterman, and a rookie in the QB stable. At the very least, Manziel would give the Bills some national buzz and media attention. He may even help sell some tickets for all of the folks who still believe in Johnny Football.
  17. Should have drafted Dede Westbrook with that pick
  18. The classic counter point to the accuracy problem is of course hall of famer Brett Favre. He finished his college career with a 52.4% completion percentage and finished his NFL career with a 62.0% completion percentage. Allen certainly has a Favre-like cannon. FWIW, I hope Buffalo gets Lamar Jackson. He has more upside than anyone in this class and a fairly safe floor. At worst, you're getting a better passing version of Tyrod with way more ability to run.
  19. Even moving up is no guarantee at getting one of those guys. It could be a 2006 type of draft where Leinart, Cutler, and Young are all "franchise" players and none of them come close to reaching that status. I'd rather be more conservative and build a solid enough team where anyone (Foles, Keenum, Bortles) can take Buffalo to a championship game than mortgaging the future on a player this year. Ironically, I was a huge Pat Mahomes fan last year and was extremely disappointed when Buffalo traded out of that pick. I think that will come back to bite us. But the Bills organization over the time you are referencing has not operated under the same regime, or been the same autonomous unit. How many coaches and GMs have they gone through? They've even changed ownership. I look at the Beane/McD era as a new chapter and will judge them based on that. But as someone who feels like Lamar Jackson could be the best player in this draft, I'm content to stay at 12 and take him there.
  20. Foles completed a higher percentage of his passes, didn't turn it over, and has the same 3 passing TDs so you can argue he did. More importantly, I won't argue with you that having a great QB sets you up for success more than not having one. That seems pretty obvious, but if you look at those QBs over the past 11 years that are hall of famers, where were they drafted? Sure, you have the mannings at the top of the draft, but you also have your Big Ben's at the 11th pick, your Drew brees's in the second round, Tom Brady in the 6th round, Kurt Warner undrafted, Russell Wilson in the 3rd round, Aaron Rodgers in the LATE first round. Buffalo has the 12th pick.
  21. The second season in Chip Kelly's offense and Foles came back down to earth -- so much so that the Eagles, Rams, and Chiefs all didn't see a 'pro bowl qb' in Foles. I would argue making the Pro Bowl isn't that significant anyway as a number of mediocre talents at the position have been in that game. Tom Brady is arguably the best player to ever play. The fact a journeyman like Foles was able to outplay him on the biggest stage in sports is telling. And because only one team can win the superbowl, getting to a championship is a great season. If you build a team capable of getting that far, all it takes is a few things to break right in your direction and you can win it all. So yes, getting to a championship game is a successful season in my book. Beane has been extremely positive in his public statements about Jackson, even comparing him to Cam Newton. Let those other teams sell the farm while we get the best player in the draft anyway.
  22. 3 of the 4 Quarterbacks that made the championship games this year were Blake Bortles, Nick Foles, and Case Keenum. Build a solid team and you can win with any competent player at QB. I am going to be ecstatic if the Bills can get Lamar Jackson at 12 as I feel he is the best player in this draft anyway.
  23. Bring Teddy Bridgewater to Buffalo!
