Bass is having enough problems… hope replacement punter is an experienced holder which I don’t think the Punt God is.
Also, for the playoffs do you want a 1st time punter who literally has never kicked in a regular season game? I would much rather have an experienced kicker who has been there, and has a lot of experience holding. Would rather sacrifice a few yards if it comes to that for consistency and experience.

Oh man a waxing gibbous…we can’t play in that 😂
This sucks! Everyone knows KC special teams was built for waxing gibbous! And 'wizard' Beane has put together a roster for Waning Crescent! This is why you build a dome people! - to block out the phase of the moon! Pegula is so stupid! McD should be fired if he can't figure out how to overcome their obvious moon phase advantage! We're doomed.

They won’t say no, but they say unlikely. McDermott seems very careful talking about injuries. He’ll likely be cleared around February. I just don’t think that’s enough time for him to practice and be ready to contribute in the Super Bowl.
I was thinking the other day it would be nice if they increased the allowed number of players who are allowed to dress for the SB - like the full 53 active say. Would allow teams to reward fringe or injured players that might not normally get to suit up to reward them for contributions to the team - throw them in for a play and they can have memory of playing in a SB

That's not the point.
If he plays, he's probably healthy enough to be effective, else they wouldn't play him.
Guess it depends how you define effective. Guys get cleared to play all the time to play with injuries that impact their effectiveness - sometimes to a great degree. As LB I also wonder how long he'll last. Taron played with it his rookie year, and was constantly having to come out when he aggravated it until they finally shut him down - LB is going to presumably take a lot more pounding

I thought I heard McDermott say that Dodson was closer to playing yesterday than Douglas, and Douglas says he's ready to play next week.
Sure - the point is that when he does get in, he is going to be playing with a shoulder injury that (if it is in fact a torm labrum) probably has a pretty high likelihood of impacting his performance and/or causing issues and taking him out if it gets re-injured/aggravated. Will have to see how it plays out

Starting last week Josh started to leave his feet and dive more, which I think has a greater chance of being stopped vs keeping your feet on the ground and churning. Also if your feet are on the ground you're more likely to be able to have a 2nd effort if you get stopped initially

I'm rooting for Baker in this one...
Good to see him turn his career around this season
Never thought Baker was great but I definitely respect the guy - so tough playing through injuries - even when it's obvious it affects his play at times

Are Philly fans calling for siriani's head at this point?

If it's that bad, it seems like they would be better off sending him to IR for a spot. There's only so much time to recover even if we win the next game.
If it is that injury, it's not something he'll recover from before the end of the season, but rather just try to manage - and get surgery after the season

Phillips is eligible to come back off IR this week.
Poona sat tonight, but Von should be sat, Phillips activated, cut Alec Anderson if you have to, and rush Phillips in the game.
The coaches won’t do it, but Von is horrible out there. Now he’s trying the inside spin and he just gets swallowed by the OG and OT.
Think Kingsley brings more than von at this point

Someone may have already replied, but:
Colin Kaepernick - 56 yards - 2013 NFC Division Round: SF vs. GB
Josh should have purposely gotten a 5 yd illegal procedure penalty before the snap so he would have gotten the record

Maybe we can get a kicker from the kicker store, package that with the stadium snow removal crew we get from the stadium snow removal store, bundle them with mahomes and maauto and get a discount, I’ll double check.
Im sorry.
We might need to pick up a LB too at the LB store on the way home

Does anyone truly understand why the Spector recovery did not count?
Because the refs on the field blew the call and NY didn't have the stones to overturn the obvious error

They thought the ball grazed the TEs helmet while he was out-of-bounds. Therefore, it’s OOB.
Thats what nantz said, but not the officials. There was also an angle (that i think they only showed once on the broadcast) that seemed to show pretty clearly it didn't hit the helmet.
The thing that bugs me the most is they need to change the rules to just eliminate the stupid official from the review. If the clown got it wrong on the field why is he even in the equation for the review. Just go to an eye in the sky - 99% of the time people sitting on a couch can tell clearly from replays - just look at the replays and make the call - no need to have the idiot official who got it wrong standing there looking at a tiny little screen for 10 mins

Still don’t understand people saying this. Unless I’m wrong about the wind a 49 yard kick is pretty close to a chip shot in today’s NFL. If you can trust your kicker to hit that you need a new kicker.
And at worst you think it's just going to be a miss, how many FGs get blocked AND go 30 yds in the opposite direction

He was a good DC in his day in NE. Won three Superbowls as DC in NE. That does deserve a bit of respect I think.
He was a maroon as an OC in NE and as a HC in Detroit, but he was a very good DC before that.
Easy to be a great DC when you know the plays that are being called

Concerned about the injuries. Hopefully Dodson and Douglas are back next week.
I just posted in the injury thread
If Dodson is a torn labrum as rumored even if he comes back he's likely going to be a shell of himself - and if he takes direct hits on the shoulder it could pop out and/or debilitate him pretty quickly

Von is going to have an embarrassing film session. "So here we see the QB right in your hands, just right there and then you just kind of let him go for some reason."
As compared to all the other film sessions "So here we see you get off at the snap, then suddenly just stand there for some reason while all the other people are playing football all around you"

Great win - though still pissed about that incompetent non fumble call
Crazy that Josh's superman run wasn't even the best play by a Bill. Shakir's play was unbelievable

The hammy is martins plant leg not kicking leg - wish they would get a shot on the sideline to see if he is testing it out
If they need to pick up a punter I assume they would try for some old experienced guy vs araiza

Some interesting comments from Morse
- Playoff mentality for 6-7 weeks - you know what works - there was no sexy team meeting - just got to it and it's worked.
- Coach has let personality show - when stakes are highest has let us be ourselves - took off pressure for making mistakes
- Dunne article galvanizing - didn't divide locker room, had opposite effect of rallying guys not only around the coach but each other - us vs the world. Narrative Buffalo is a terrible place to be, coach is sh!t - just not the case. Not what we were experiencing - told 'em to just piss off and we just did our thing - it was beautiful
- McD addressed issue of playing free, don't worry about mistakes - wasn't just words he backed it up
- Embarrasment of riches in offensive room guys have OC experience - not as much Joe Brady being on top - really is a collaboration of all the offensive coaches
- Begging Josh to slide during run - yelling get down, then go go go
- Covid helped prepare for game moving last minute
- Saw Steelers bench getting hamered with snowballs - "Get Bills mafia liquored up, just don't know what's gonna happen"
