  1. I voted "no", but it really depends on HOW we fail to get to the AFCCG.... I'm being realistic - the injury bug can decimate any team at any time. Heck, I am frankly amazed at how well the DEFENSE is holding up, given our losses. If Diggs or Josh go down? Even making the playoffs this year could be hard. However - if we get to the playoffs again, and then lay another egg like we did with the Bengals - that is more a coaching issue. THEN I would consider alternatives...
  2. To be fair, that's part of the way he keeps defenses honest behind the line of scrimmage. How many times have we seen him wrist flick it like 10 yards to an open receiver as he approaches the line? If he pulls it in and tucks it, the Defense KNOWS he is going to run. If he has his arm ready to throw - the defense has to allow for a last minute throw, so it keeps them honest. And how many times has he gained a first down by stretching the ball across the line? I'm just saying - part of what makes him SO dangerous is the ease that he transiitons from throwing threat to running threat...
  3. Look, I'm not saying Josh is perfect... But I'm ALSO not going to blame him every time a ball bounces out of a receiver's hands into the hands of defender, or when the defense makes a GREAT play. Everyone on the field is trying to win - and occasionally the 'bad guys' win a play. It falls under the "that's why they play the game". I'm just not going to overreact on this. It was a game vs an opponent who played us tough in the season.
  4. To be honest? Not gonna stress on it. I am usually a "it is what it is" kinda guy. "Fairness" went out the window Monday when neither team was really ready to play again. The fact is - injuries happen to every team. Sometimes those injuries affect key players... Is it "fair" that the Ravens lost Lamar, or the 'phins lost Tua; for measurable chunks of an otherwise good season? The way I see it - the Bills "lost" that game exactly the same way (as far as the standings are concerned) as if the injury had occurred to a key player. The team is just gonna have to slug their way through the crowd to get to the top. TBH - I think this team has EVERY reason to do it. So.... Go Bills!
  5. Yep... Bills know how to to build tension.... Damn near had a heart attack.... BTW - we gave them the ball back with 64 seconds.... And got the the interception at 51 seconds left. 13 SECONDS!!!!! AAAUGH! I imagine that is gonna STING in KC....
  6. Meh - I'm not gonna complain about anyone's personal pizza preferences.... Talk to a dozen people - you'll get a dozen different "preferred" vendors/brands/pizza joints... (I have admittedly 'plebian' pizza taste, myself. Gimme a 'supreme' pizza from nearly anywhere and I'm probably good. My only request is that you don't SEE puddles of grease on the pizza....)
  7. I think/hope we need two things: Groot to come into the training camp bigger/faster/better conditioned so he becomes the pass rusher we need. A true mauler Defensive tackle - ie a HEALTHY and consistent Star Lotulelei equivalent. Obviously - probably not Star.... The Bengals were able to confound Mahomes by using 3 up front and dropping 8 into coverage for much of the second half. We need someone big and nasty on the line that they HAVE to double team.
  8. My 2 cents on him having a possible down year go something like this: "It's possible. He'll have a new OC (ok - new-ish OC), new QB Coach, new OL coach, possibly a new offensive system, AND a target on his back because he is a badass and EVERYONE knows it." But then again - his O-line sucked for half the season, the running game was non-existent about that long, and he has the self-motivation to improve EVERY year. So I doubt there will be a giant fall off. Josh is too much of a competitor in his heart to stop now.
  9. I intend to watch - but merely as a spectator... I don't have any particular care who wins and moves on to the the Superbowl. I can come up with reasons to want and not want all of them... None of them are the Bills, so... *sob*
  10. Not that i have ANY control in the matter, but if I did? Frasier would be gone. Not that i think he is a terrible coach. He did somehow coach one of the top ranked Ds this year. I think he can plan some excellent defensive gameplans. But he doesn't seem to react quickly to the situation, as evidenced by the 13 seconds of doom. Then again - Daboll didn't have Allen picking apart the KC secondary as soon as Mathieu went down either, so....
  11. I am fscking WRECKED. Bills need to get a better o-line, because they weren't doing Josh any favors... D falling down and NOT preventing a field goal in 13 seconds? COME ON MAN... *sigh*
  12. My two cents: Do I *want* the Bills to win the Superbowl? **** yeah! Do I think the Bills *can* win a Superbowl this year? ALSO **** yeah! Do I realize that football is a competitive game, that both sides play to win the game, and that sometimes events/refs/injuries may indeed prevent that, no matter what the talent level of any single individual? Also yes. That's why I am *not* the type to overreact. If we get beat in the next couple games? S*** happens. All I ask is that the Bills play a good game and not embarrass themselves or the city.
  13. Do I think the Steelers *can* beat KC? Yes - it is possible. Strange things happen, come playoff time. Steelers D isn't bad at all, and if Big Ben and their running game come to play, the Steelers CAN pull it off. Any given sunday, and all that. Do I think it's LIKELY? Not particularly. To be honest - I don't have a dog in that fight. At this point, I'm just hoping the Bills win and move on. Don't care what happens anywhere else - because I think the Bills can dance with (and beat) any of them.
  14. I concur... I think the wind caused more issues for Josh than he let on. I just hope the team realizes this and plans for it next week...
  15. Here's my 2 cents: Is the coach apparently OK with whatever his personal reason? Yes? OK then - not my problem. I don't know what his problem was. Frankly - I don't NEED to know. Personal reasons be personal. Coach McDermott has earned a sufficent amount of respect from me that if he says "yeah - it's valid; take the time you need", then who the heck am I to argue? Every human being goes through times of trouble. What may seem like an "end of the world" level problem to you might be "Eh - it's Tuesday" to someone else. And vice versa...
  16. Eh, there were few non-calls that influenced the game... TBH- the refs may have been guilted to tune it back a little....
  17. To be honest - I'm not quite as "down" on this team as some of the others in the this thread. Then again - I wasn't quite as "up" on the Bills all along. I'm sort of Zen about it... This team - as it is now though - isn't winning any Superbowls. We have a number of decent pieces - but this isn't Madden. You can't fill your team with superstar x-factors. We have a few, but the rest need to be coached/schemed up - and we aren't doing that offensively. I will agree we need a bulldozer Running back, and some big smart bodies on both the O and D lines. Oh - and a new O-line coach, because YEESH, they aren't good.
  18. J-E-T-S Just! End! The! Season! (One of my best friends since college is a Jets fan from Long Island. Still - even he isn't THIS .... <gestures at original poster> )
  19. Yep. To be honest - we've been weak in the red zone all season. Which is sorta why I'm not actually pissed at this loss. Because - like last year - this was a "show me" moment that is gonna burn in the hearts of this team the entire bye week - and probably the rest of the season. This? This loss *perfectly* highlighted some of the issues the wins have been glossing over; at a time when the players can learn, remember, and actually try to fix one or two of them. "King" Henry's boot running over three defenders. A pass rush that wasn't. Weakness on the Right side of the O-line. Josh not taking the easy shots when they are available... ~~~~ Nope - I think this was a nice humbling experience that will help the team going forward. Still kinda sucks that we lost to Tennessee, but 4-2 into the Bye was about what I expected - so... eh?
  20. Bleu cheese is an abomination. That is a hill I will die on. Literally in this case, because I am badly allergic to something in bleu cheese. Then again, I'm not much of a wing fan, so... It's not the taste - although I tend to stay away from hot wings. It's the work to reward ratio - there's not enough meat on most wings to make it worth the mess. I'll take tenders or a roasted chicken over wings any day. (No - you CAN'T take my Bills fan card away from me for my heresy. I've been a Bills fan for decades - I survived the 20 year desert. I'm not gonna stop now...)
  21. I hate Brady with the fire of a thousand stars.... I strongly dislike Gronk, because of the flying braced elbow to the back of Tre White's head... I want to see the Patriots get beaten down, HARD. Like 50-3. So... I think I'm rooting for the Belichick defense to get a few good hits on both Brady and Gronk (as a "Welcome back to Gillette" message) - just enough so they feel it in the morning - and then Brady to get mad and plant a 50 burger on the Patriots.
  22. Yup. And there was many a game he carried on his back... He is - without a doubt - my favorite Bill of the Lost Years... But you have to admit - the overall teams of that era? 🤮 Good news, though! My delayed Allen jersey arrived today - so I no longer will tempt fate with a jersey that may retain the bad juju of the dark times!
  23. Who the heck cares how they got there? If the Bills win the Super Bowl, then THEY WON THE SUPER BOWL! Of course I'd be screaming like a loon! Jsut like about half of Western NY. I half expect that the resulting celebratory riot will require a Federal disaster declaration.
