  1. If the purpose of the game is to get a completion, then I think I could get 1.

Line up in shotgun every play. Immediately throw it in the direction of a receiver (can’t even risk getting hit or it’s all over). Most passes are incomplete. Probably like 10-15 are intercepted. At least one would involve a WR making a play on my behalf.

  2. I think the defense looked significantly worse when all the injuries hit this last season. I think this upcoming year will be a bit of a re-tool type season, with some youth on the defense filling starting roles, and young players on offense at the skill positions also taking on new roles with more touches/targets.

I would say the goal this year should be to win the division, and then anything beyond that is gravy. If everything goes perfectly we could win the Super Bowl (with Allen anything is possible).

DK Metcalf please and thank you

    Hear me out…

Pats are on the clock at #3, with Drake Maye being the top QB available. Let’s say hypothetically the Vikings are obsessed with Maye and want him at any cost.

Vikings and Bills have a deal prearranged where we send them our first this year, next year and our 2nd round pick next year for Jefferson and a draft pick (maybe a 3rd this year).

The Vikings send 11, 23, and next year’s Bills 1st to move up and get their guy (pricier than the draft chart, but they pay a premium to get a QB). They still have 28 to take a WR to backfill Jefferson.

(not a rumor, just my own delusion)

  4. Considering the NFL is basically a money printer, I'm surprised something like cost overruns can cause a partial sale to cover it. I would think there would be some sort of financing available to cover the overruns using the team as collateral (but maybe there are rules against that, or maybe the interest rates are too high to make that option worth it).

  5. I think I still want Xavier Worthy at 28 if we don’t move around. His speed is ridiculous and he’s an actual WR, not just a track star.

Imagine Allen using his full arm strength on a deep bomb and having a WR capable of actually running under it. We haven’t had that, so Allen has been under throwing his deep bombs (leading to some INTs).

    Who? The Bills? They don't.

They still have as @BuffaloRebound rightly states above a couple of levers they can pull to create the room. But they don't have a ton of wiggle next year either and at some point this new deal he would need to sign would have some big numbers.

I'm not saying it is impossible. I am saying it is not possible unless they make some moves to clear some space first. We can all speculate what their appetite for shaking their final few quid out of the back of the sofa is.... but none of us know.

I wonder if they might even do it on draft night when they see how the board starts to fall - like the AJ Brown deal was done. Because I suspect their preference is to draft a cost controlled guy.

They have the space this year if they want it, and they will have even more space next year because they are eating Diggs’ cap hit this year, and Miller will be cut (not to mention all of the available restructures and the cap going up).

Well, he didn’t become Edward Scissor-hands until after the Bills 4 Super Bowls.

I’m willing to entertain the possibility that we might be dealing with multiple curses here.

  8. Your poll options don’t really make sense because they aren’t mutually exclusive.

I would say no hard feelings, time to move on from a declining player. I think the front office had planned to do this next offseason, but things got moved ahead of schedule.

In terms of all time Bills greats, I would put Diggs in the second group with Lee Evans and Stevie Johnson. With Andre Reed and Eric Moulds being in the top group.

We aren’t going to miss them that much, because they are diminished players. But we are going to miss the players they used to be quite a lot.

I think this is spot on. I don’t think we’ll “miss” the 2024 season version of these players. But I’m not sure we have adequate replacements to come near their 2020-2022 performance.

People are soon to forget what happened with Sammy Watkins. We only moved up only 5 spots and gave up the following year’s 1st and a 4th. And he was basically a bust. Everyone panned Whaley for this move. Now, fast forward to 2024 and we are talking about trading an even higher number of picks for an unproven player. We can’t afford to experiment. Go after a proven player.

Watkins partially busted because we had mediocre QBs, and he broke his foot (and was never the same after that). My understanding is he had some substance abuse issues in Buffalo, especially while sitting around with his injury.

We don’t have a mediocre QB now, and injuries are always a risk no matter what you do. Doesn’t seem relevant to our current situation.

  11. Poking around the web, it seems like 49ers fans think they are going to get a first and a good roster player for Aiyuk. I really doubt it. They chose to pay Deebo, so Aiyuk is on his way out one way or another eventually which weakens their negotiating position.

Above average doesn't cut it. Mahomes has Kelce, the best pass catcher in the NFL. Burrow has Chase and maybe still Higgins. Josh Allen lost over 1,900 yards of production in a single offseason. I'm just sick over this. Beane had better have a plan because right now this looks like a 9-8 team.

This seems dramatic and disingenuous to include Davis’ totals (as if some other player couldn’t easily replace his production with his snap count and targets).

When the Bills went on their winning streak to end the season and win the division, Davis was barely involved in the offense (to the point where his mom complained on Twitter) and Diggs’ totals were way down. It’s obvious we can win and have an effective offense without them.
