He mentions Micah Hyde as a veteran wronged by the Packers in the past...
Hyde's talked about it. He felt the Packers disrespected him.
I can't help but think that Rodgers really sounds a lot like LeBron James. He wanted to "recruit" guys and have a say in free agency? That's not your job. If you think your front office is bad at their job, go play somewhere else.

Let me preface by saying that I think Aaron Rodgers is one of the biggest douches in all of sports.
That said, the way I'm interpreting everything that he's saying (when context is actually provided) indicates that all he's wanted is some dialogue prior to making moves that directly impact the offense. I don't think he's asking to make the decisions ... just to be part of the thought process.
Like him or not, I do think he's earned that right as an imminent first ballot HOFer and a SB Champion who's played his entire career with Green Bay.
I respectfully disagree. I don't think any player, no matter how talented or tenured, should have any say in personnel decisions. It isn't his job.
Also, what if they said "ok Aaron, what's your suggestion?" and then they decide to do something different, do you think Rodgers would be cool with that, or would he spaz out like a 13 year old?
I'll even give an example: the loss of Jake Kumerow, whom Rodgers somehow views as a WR2. If Kumerow is Rodgers' idea of an ideal second option after Adams, yeah, don't let him influence anything.

The phrase "every single" is too strong.
I have opinion if you have a long term franchise QB then he should have input on hires of QB coach especially and OC but not be decision maker,
He should have input into play calls (as Daboll gets from Allen) both in off season when playbook is created and in games especially when things are not going well and it is not issue of QB forcing it.
In terms of roster (picks and players kept) again should have input into offense skill players but unless a QB is willing to take a cut (not restructure) GM will dominate discussion for the players will always want office to spend as much money as possible but it is GM's job to manage money for season and future.
Players don't know anything about constructing teams. I am glad that Josh's stance is that it isn't his job and he trusts Beane completely.
We need a lot fewer LeBron James and Aaron Rodgers types who think that being skilled at a sport suddenly makes them some kind of supreme front office mind. The vast majority of the time a former great player is put in a GM role, in any sport, he ends up as a complete failure.

Yes. And Brady threw 3 picks against GB in the NFCCG
I’m like “whatever, I don’t care"
Sure, but the trend of inconsistent standards applied to Josh are very interesting.

Lookout!! That means Ertz is on the way!!! 🤪
Latest news on Ertz is that he bleached his hair and he reported to the training camp for the team he plays for. That's a big deal! Watch out for the Iggles, everyone. They are going to do damage in the NFC East. Maybe even finish third.
I literally can't find anything else.

The article you’re quoting said that, based upon Beane’s presser I assume, but while Chris Brown quoted Beane as saying that, I heard him walk that back later in the presser and just say that they have had ~5 Covid infections over the summer and some were vaccinated.
So I don’t think we really know at this point. Hopefully they were because of the potentially earlier return you note and lower chance of a severe infection with complications.
I would be very surprised if that NFL policy stood without substantial modification.
JC Tretter made it clear that the NFLPA was NOT consulted and did NOT buy in to that policy.
I linked it elsewhere but you can read what he had to say here:
(It let me read with just giving my email addy but now it wants a login)
Ugh, Goodell is really going for the worst commissioner crown. He really has to juice it up to catch Rob Manfred.

There's no way that Wilson should be ranked above Allen. Yes, there's the sustained success element that Allen doesn't have, but I watched the Bills-Seahawks game last year, and I'm pretty sure who the better QB was that day, and will be this season
Just wait for the narrative over the first 6 weeks where people exclaim how they simply can't believe that Wilson has never received an MVP vote before the Seahawks' offense falls off a cliff.

I think prevents is a tricky word.
it substantially reduces risk, even if not eliminating. Clearly the Nfl wants to encourage that reduced risk.
the NFLs issue in this is going to be figuring the tipping point on vaccinated vs unvaccinated to make that serious call on forfeiting a game. If it’s blended and no known source, how do you call it?
Well, that's kinda what I'm worried about. Will unvaccinated guys become convenient fall guys for the NFL even if they follow protocols to a T?

-
So I'm curious: since the vaccine doesn't prevent infection and just reduces symptoms/makes it harder to contract, and since vaccinated players face fewer restrictions than unvaccinated players, AND since the NFL has stated that if an unvaccinated player causes an outbreak, it will cause his team to forfeit because the league isn't adding an extra week...what happens if a vaccinated player causes an outbreak? Seems like this could be an actual concern.

Didn't Mahomes set a record for lost yardage on a sack last season?
Boy, the selective memory is interesting. Who is taking Brady, Wilson or Watson over Allen next year? Did it not matter that Brady threw three interceptions in the second half against GB with the game on the line?
I don't care much about the rankings but the thought process is interesting.
Lol yup. Maybe this is the "30 yard sack" that guy was thinking of: https://www.si.com/extra-mustard/2020/12/14/chiefs-dolphins-patrick-mahomes-sack-video

Don't forget the Browns played most of last year without OBJ and are getting him back in the mix now which could be scary alongside a top 5 rushing offense.
I think the biggest xfactor with the Browns is defense, on paper they certainly look elite especially the dline and secondary.
At this point I'm still not sure who's 2a and 2b behind the Chiefs when looking at the Bills and Browns.
I'll believe the impact of OBJ when I see it. Dude can't stay on the field.

Tyreek getting a 98 is actually surprising to me. He has blazing speed and amazing quickness but for whatever reason I don't view him as a "complete" receiver. Probably sounds weird to say that but I would take Diggs, Hopkins and Adams over Hill as complete receivers who can do it all.
Yeah, he's all speed and agility. Not very good technically. Personally, I think Allen Robinson got the most disrespect on that list. Not his fault he plays for Chicago.

you are acting like they are a top 5 offense and a bottom 5. You are also acting like you can cut and paste everything from last year to this year.
its not going to be the same for either team its a totally new year we dont really know until they start playing the games.
No, I think the Bills are top 2-3 and the Browns are probably 10-15, probably closer to 10.

Cherry picking common opponents? that's the closest thing to head to head comparisons as you can get they are playing the same defenses.
Anything can happen on any given Sunday. For example, the game against the Ravens happened during insanely high winds which neutered the passing game for both teams.
If what you're getting at is that the Browns have an offense that is as good or nearly as good as the Bills, you're objectively wrong in every way.

Training camp starts tomorrow and we're a month away from the Bills 53-man roster being set. Post your bold predictions here.
I'll start with two of my own:
1) After the obvious quartet of Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, and Davis, the last 2 WRs to make the team will be Hodgins and Stevenson. McKenzie will be a surprise cut.
2) Cody Ford will be traded for a 4th or 5th round pick near the end of training camp. Forrest Lamp will take his spot on the roster.
I don't really think either of these are that bold

never understood that baker mayfield is more brett farve than game manager you are basically saying he is andy dalton or cousins. doesnt make much sense he is in a run first offense but that isnt his fault its just 2 ways of going about it.
me personally i would rather have a balance offense than one that has no running game and passes every down.
I'd rather have an offense that scores points, so basically the Bills and not the Browns.
11 minutes ago, The Red King said:We always complain about being underrated. They got us pegged right IMHO. Pass rush remains a concern and KC shredded us. TB12 is a god when he's not pressured. Third seems right.
And yet, even with the Bills pegged right, we seem to find things to complain about. Can we not just be happy, or failing that, content?
I'm looking forward to the Bucs not being anywhere near the god tier team they are pegged to be.

I think their uniforms are good. I think the worst uniforms are: Browns (they have been getting better though), Jaguars (a couple years ago when they had that matte, two-toned helmet was hideous), Bengals, and Washington. I'm not a big fan of the new Rams uniforms and logo. I hate the neon green in the Seahawks uniforms.
Disagree on Washington, but agree on the rest. The new Rams unis are the worst by far.

Forget Dallas, never has been, never will be. Too many fans in both leagues loathe the cowboys (sorry CGF) for them to be in consideration.
Then, take a look at GB. We have our very own Ice Bowl who visits us from time to time and is a great ambassador for Green Bay. Small town America is Green Bay. Then look at the plethora of Green Bay threads on this very board. GB is America’s team because they are the second team to many fans.
I personally love seeing such a quaint place as the center of the NFL universe. How about you?
I didn't know overdramatic diva millionaires were so central to small town USA.

Maybe at the point they drafted Brown they were still thinking that they could develop Lamar into an all around Quarterback. To me though I think he is an average to good passer between the hashes and a below average to poor passer out side the hashes. So every time you get a weapon for Lamar Jackson it should be a guy who is comfortable going in where the bodies are and taking the hits that hurt. I still think there is a route to winning for Baltimore with Lamar (it's a narrower route than you have if you have a Patrick Mahomes or a Josh Allen) but it isn't trying to improve his weaknesses for me. I think I have enough evidence now to conclude he won't ever by a good thrower to the outside of the field. So they have to build their team and their offense to lean into his strengths. I think generally they have made a reasonably good job of that but they have had some misses at receiver.
They will always blame Greg Roman until someone takes his place. Then they will blame that guy. Then they'll blame the receivers. Lamar will never experience any blame at all.
I actually listened to the Allen defense in this video and it honestly barely sounded like one. They SF fan did a terrible job making his case. Why would they get a Niners fan to make it, anyway? Shoulda brought on our boys Erik Turner or Greg Tompsett.

Oh I know they’re touchy too. If you suggest there are Qb’s that are, even just for a time, playing at their qb’s level or might be capable of some of the same things mahomes does, they go into full on toddler temper tantrum mode.
In terms of touchy fanbases, I'd go:
1. Chieves
2. Bills
3. Ravens
The first two at least make sense. The Bills and Chieves have been crap for decades, mostly. They now have experienced wild success and want to squash any questions of legitimacy. The Ravens have been a very good team for as long as I can remember.
Oh, and on that topic, go watch Nick Wright's response to Jesse Palmer declaring JA to be the most physically gifted QB of all time. The answer: obviously Patrick Mahomes.
Does he even know what is being argued? Drew Brees and Tom Brady are two all time greats, but no one is going to say either is a top tier physical specimen. It's not a requirement for a QB if you can make up for it in other ways. Right now, Mahomes is better (though I honestly think Josh will surpass him this year) but that doesn't mean that he's as physically gifted as Allen.
