Its happened a few times in NFL history when you let the team in by resting starters and you end up losing to that team.  The fins are riding a lot of momentum and a ton of luck.  I'd rather take my chances on the ravens who aren't playing great D and are 1 dimensional on offense.

Play the starters crush the fins and let the chips fall.

    Curious of everyone else's thoughts.

Nope... don’t want nothing to do with Lamar Jackson in the playoffs. I still think the Bills would win but I think Jackson is always an X-factor that can’t be game-planned for. If he makes 2 or 3 crazy plays it is the difference between winning and losing a playoff game.

Im torn. I agree that letting the Fins in with some momentum by resting starters may have an impact. However Tua is so bad that I actually think our backups can beat him. Does Flores repeat the benching again next week if they are losing?  It can't be good for the culture. I am also concerned about the Ravens. We are a much better team this year but Lamar is a wild card and has something to prove after 2 years of choking in the playoffs.

This would never happen but it would be hilarious if the backups are beating Tua so Flores trots Fitz out in the second half and, as a counter move, McD puts his starters in for the 3rd to put the game away before bringing the backups back out for the 4th.
that would be a fun game of “one-upsmanship.”

Yeah, 6700 is much more lame than 0.

Incorrect sir... but it is much more lame than 6701 or... 9182 or... 11,006.

I'm just saying... you can fit a lot more than 6700 fans in the stadium while still enforcing 10ft of social distancing.

All I'm wanting is for our players to have the experience of playing a home playoff game in front of as many BillsMafia as possible.  Nothing nefarious going on here I assure you.

That bad 4 game stretch earlier in the year really killed his mvp chances. Let's be honest, if his stats are similar or even slightly better than Mahomes or Rodgers, he's not winning it. Especially when they are each winning their conferences.

I get your point and I agree with the second part but I disagree that he had a “bad” 4 game stretch.
no QB keeps up the pace JA had in games 1-4. All of them cool off at times.
he still played above average in games 5-8.
TN game he had 263yds and a 67QBR

KC game he had only 122yds but still had a strong 79QBR

Jets game he had 307yds and a 60QBR

Pats game he had 154yds and a 40QBR

QBR takes everything into account (rushing yards, rushing tds, situational/clutch play.)

anything over 50 is considered good.
as you can see, only the Pats game was below 50 and even that game I would say he played within the game plan which was to grind it out on the ground, as evidenced by only 18pass attempts. The pick in that game was a bad one.

All that to say... the national media has created this illusion that he was bad for a big chunk of the season and has only recently turned it back around. I contend that he’s been good all year and he’s been GREAT in 7 games.

Brady and Palmer finished 2nd in the MVP vote. Newton received 48/50 MVP votes.

2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan had 2 OPW.

This was tied with Brady, Rodgers, D. Johnson. Only Jay Ajayi had more (3) in 2016.

Brady (2) finished 2nd in the MVP vote and Derek Carr (1) was tied with Ezekiel Elliot (1) for 3rd. Ryan received 24/50 MVP votes.

2019 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson had 5 OPW. This was the most in the NFL in 2019.
Deshaun Watson finished with 3 AFC OPW and Wilson, Prescott and Aaron Jones finished with 2.

Lamar Jackson was the unanimous MVP receiving 50/50 MVP votes.

Offensive Player of the Month and MVPs

Since 2010 9/10 MVPs have won at least 1 Offensive Player of the Month in the season that they were MVP. The only player that didn’t win one was Cam Newton in 2015.

There have been a few players who have won multiple Offensive Player of the Month awards in the same season but have not won the MVP vote.

Brady (2) in 2011 where Rodgers had 3.
Manning (2) in 2012 where Peterson had 1.
    D. Murray (2) in 2014 where Rodgers had 1.
    A. Brown (2) in 2015 where Newton had 0.
Gurley (2) in 2017 where Brady had 1.

What does this mean in 2020?

How does 2020 stack up to the last 10 years, it will be interesting to look at. So far we’re through 15 out of 17 weeks in the season.

Josh currently leads the league with 4 Offensive Player of the Week awards. Kyler Murray also won this week, so he now has 3 on the season. Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson and Dalvin Cook all have 2. Aaron Rodgers, one of the favorites for MVP has 1.

The only player to have sole possession of the most Offensive Player of the Week awards in the NFL and NOT win the MVP in the last 10 years was Michael Vick (3) in 2010, when he lost out to Brady (2).

Josh looks to be in line to win potentially win Offensive Player of the Month in December after already winning 2/3 player of the week awards. If he won, it would be his 2nd this season (September). The other current winners are Wilson (September), Brady and Henry (October) and Mahomes and Cook (November).

If Josh were to win 2 Offensive Player of the Month awards and not win the MVP, he would be the 6th players since 2010 for that to happen to, but he would be the first player to have won the most Player of the Week and Player of the Month Awards and not win the MVP.

    Impressive research. Dang!

Good chance of being true IMO. A 4 TD 300 yard performance in a blow out win of our old arch nemesis in primetime would seal it. We could even sit Allen against Miami and I think he would win it still in that scenario.

I think it’s wishful thinking unless Rogers and Mahomes have sh!t games these last 2 weeks. I just don’t see the voters giving it to the young-gun with no playoff success over the other two who are both regular season MVPs, super-bowl MVPs and Super Bowl champs.
It would have to be a large margin for JA17 to win it this year.
But how cool is it that we are even having this discussion?? Wow!!!

    miami/ravens here we come

I want nothing to do with Lamar and Ravens.  He wants nothing more than to make up for the playoff loss last year and he is one of those players that can make a 60yd play even when you've done everything right on that play.

Not saying the Bills couldn't win... in fact I would favor them against any team they play in the playoffs... but I would much prefer the Ravens play someone else in the 1st round and then have to go to KC for the 2nd round.  Let those two pound it out and we'll take whoever emerges for the AFC championship.

  8. The FO will absolutely upgrade the Backup QB situation going into next season.
the way this offense has evolved they have to get a strong armed, athletic QB to fill the void should JA go down.
Fitz would be great but I really think it needs to be a young guy. No idea how obtainable any of these guys are but my list would include:

    Brissett from Indy

    Hundley from Ari

    Mullins from SF

    Trubisky from Chi

    Marriota from LV

all of those guys (including Fitz) could run the same offense JA runs. I just don’t see Fromm or Barkley being able to do that.

How did Deshaun make it? That guy is bum sauce.

you're hilarious dude. Deshaun is a stud. Flip a coin for the 3rd best QB this season (after Mahomes & Rogers). I'd rank them like this:

    #3 - JA17

#4 - Watson (I'd call it a tie except for the winning record and rushing TDs JA17 has)

#5 - Tannehill (I know some of you are going to lose your minds on this one but look at the numbers for the season and think back to how he owned the Bills in week 5. Dude has had a great season)

I might activate Kroft this week. Work the middle passing w big men and take some shots.

I think we can win easy even giving some of our stars rest.

No, no, no, and again I say NO.

Play the guys who have you on the current role you’re on. Adding Brown to the mix this week should be the only difference we see to this offense.

If #2 seed in play I play the starters in the first half. Just to,keep the rust off and see if we get that seed

Accidents happen every day unfortunately but a couple years back, one of the AFC teams got the bye week a came out in the ge a played like camp fodder

This year with no fans in the stands it is not really he field advantage but sleeping on your own bed advantage
