    I know what he said

Oh… gotcha. So you actually were saying that you know better than Josh what Josh was intending to do. I guess I just couldn’t fathom that kind of arrogance till this very moment.
well, I guess there isn’t any further need for actual intelligent discussion here since you have already informed us of your x-men-mind-reading abilities.
perhaps, however, you should leave your contact info here and hope someone from the front office reads this thread. I’d say you could be an unbelievably valuable asset to the Bills for this playoff run.

Question---on Micah's long punt return, it looked like he was going to just let it bounce.   It seemed from the angle of live TV that Micah thought it hit a Bills player, then decided to field it......or, did Micah just see an opening in coverage?

I am almost sure it hit the heel of a Bills player and bounced straight to Hyde.
As another thread has already stated… all the bounces went Buffalo’s way last night.

  3. During his press conference, Allen was asked about the first TD to Knox and after his typical, boyish sarcasm he straight up admitted he was trying to throw the ball away and didn’t even know why the crowd was cheering so loud until a few moments after the play.
A follow up question was something like, “when that happened did you know it was going to be a special night” and without hesitation Josh said “oh yeah!” with a huge grin on his face.

I just want to say how refreshing it is to see every Bills player, even our biggest star, live out the “Humble & Hungry” mantra of our HC. I really feel like the majority of QBs in this league would have had too much pride to admit they were throwing that ball away.

Josh is equal/better talent than 90s. I find his personality refreshingly Firebough, junior collegey. in this world, we need more of this.

Nobody had to convince him to BUF either. Love this kid.

This is the full truth summed up. When JA17 says “Go Bills” it is for real. And it started from the beginning of his tenure. His little smirk when he reminded the press his 2nd year that the Bills were NY’s ONLY team.  He is where he is supposed to be.

  5. Kelly is indisputably the king of Buffalo QBs at this point. And he has become one of my favorite people in his post playing life.
His life has been rocked by hardship and he has become a much better man, husband, father and friend through it all.
However, as a kid I still remember Kelly was not the nicest or best person back in his playing days. He hated the thought of playing in buffalo. He was the catalyst behind the bickering bills issues in 88 & 89. It took all-time teammates like Thurman and Tasker to help him get over his diva approach to playing. He was used to the “bling” of the U and the USFL Houston Gamblers. Blue collar buffalo, family, team-first, etc. Those things all took him a long time to figure out.

That is why my list of “favorite” Bills QBs is in this order:

    1. JA17

he has been a humble, team-first, blue collar buffalo guy from day 1.

    2. Fitz

He loved Buffalo and he got the most out of his limited ability during his time with the Bills.
    3. Kelly

    see above.

How’s Derrick Brown doing?  He was an absolute beast at Auburn…

He won’t be doing anything against the Bills tomorrow. He’s on the Covid list.
he’s had a good but underwhelming 2nd season so far. Wouldn’t say he’s a disappointment but there isn’t much buzz surrounding him either.

What ever happened to Cam Newton?  The Panthers were smart to let him go...

Agreed. And he would not have been brought back if Darnold didn’t get hurt. It was basically a desperation move and a PR ploy.

  8. Lifetime Bills fan here.
Born and raised in western NY.
    Charlotte resident since ‘99.

In the interest of full disclosure, the Panthers are my 2nd fav team. But they are a million miles distant from my passion for the Bills.

With that said let me just tell you I haven’t talked to a single charlotte resident who thinks the Panthers have a snowball’s-chance-in-Carolina this week.
We all had high hopes for a matured, humbled, and improved Cam to give us a feel-good story in his return to Carolina.
It took about 5 quarters of football for all the “feel-good” to turn to “frustration” like a Trent Edwards check down on 3rd and 12.
When Christian Mac got shelved for the 2nd year in a row everyone jumped ship.
To say that Charlotte knows nothing about being a football town is an understatement.
The only bit of energy coming from any fans I talk to is regarding the Diggs / Gilmore matchup. Gilmore is somewhat of a hometown kid having played just across the SC border in high school. He’s been a great fit for this panthers D and his status as a former Bills star makes the storyline even better.

I see this one getting out of hand early in favor of the Bills. Carolina’s D is strong but the Bills are pissed and they ain’t messin’ around with a close game to an inferior opponent. I see McD & Frazier switching things up some this week and playing a bunch of press man and blitzing a good bit in the first half. Cam & Walker can’t handle pressure.

When it’s all said and done I’m predicting a happy south charlotte household at around 4:15 Sunday afternoon.

BB turned a 7-9 team into a division winner and a SB favorite in one offseason.

    I know this is click bait but I don’t care… I’m in.

    DIVISION WINNER?
since when do they crown division winners with 5 weeks left in the season?

    SB Favorite??

    stop it. Just stop it.

no doubt BB is a masterful, all-time great coach. Probably the greatest ever. But let’s not start adding hardware to his trophy case just yet. JA17 and the boys still might have something to say about all that.

The Bills had a chance to pick up Fournette. Easy to play armchair QB but I remember wanting the Bills to sign him. Instead the Bills are left with Moss, Motor, and Breida. None of these guys compare to Fournette. The Bills as many other teams whiffed on him.

This line of thinking is true for every team who doesn’t pick 1st in every round.
Think how many fans are saying the same thing about Allen, White, Knox, Edmunds, Davis, etc.

Also keep in mind how important culture is to McBean when they draft. Not saying Fournette is a bad fit for the Bills but I don’t get worn out second guessing their draft history. Like every team, they’ve had some “woulda, coulda, shoulda’s” but they’ve also build this team into a contender for years to come. I say let’s ride with these guys win or lose and at the end of the day be grateful for what we have!

  11. I’m interested to get feedback on this:

if Tua or Jalen Hurts were the QB on the 2021 Pats would they be having the winning, highly efficient season that Mac Jones is?

just wondering since those are the two guys that kept Mac Jones on the Crimson Tide bench until his senior year.

He’s in the perfect system for his skill set. Even so… it sure seems like Mac makes the right read and delivers a catchable, on-time ball about 90% or more of the time.

  12. Bills fan who has lived in Charlotte the past 2 decades. Being forced to watch this Panthers/Dolphins game is brutal. Honestly, I’m a sucker for a good redemption story and I was really hoping for Cam to ball out in his return to the QC but alas… he is simply not a starting caliber QB in today’s NFL.
Watching a game with Cam and Tua on the same field makes me even more appreciative of McBean taking a chance on JA17. We are one of a handful of teams who are SET at the QB position for the next decade and I love it!

Oh calm down, I'm not greased up with bitterness, I'm calling a spade a spade. You're right, this is a fan forum. I thought your post was one of the most short sighted I read on the forum in a long time and I have been here awhile. Perhaps I could have stated it with more sensitivity. Happy Holidays.

well played Mike.  It's all fun and games anyway.  Happy Holidays to you too.

Gabe Davis? Our 4th WR is on track to be a Bills all-time great? LOL

Really?? Young, big, fast, great work ethic, great teammate, catches everything thrown his way. He’s got the makings just like Moulds and Stevie did. It took them a few years to become the number 1 but when they were called on they were ready.
    Gabe will be too.

Wow, we have entered into a new era of dumb with this thread.

Isn’t this a “Fan Forum” discussion board? New era of dumb? Dang bro… I’m a fan just like you who enjoys talking all things Bills both past and present.
On second thought, I’m a much better fan than you. I’m not all greased up with bitterness like you apparently are.
Here’s to health and happiness for you and yours and a little thanksgiving miracle called “kindness.”

  15. The trouble with Bass making it is each conference only selects one kicker and Justin Tucker is likely getting the nod for the AFC. His 66yd field goal and name recognition get him in unless he falls into a slump the second half of the season.

I put Diggs, White and Edmunds in that same conversation as Tucker. Name recognition and all 3 are having good seasons. I think they’ll make it again.

Allen is the only “lock” in my opinion.
Poyer should be a lock but we’ve heard that one before.
Hyde has a very strong case as well.

Knox is going to have to show out again a few more times. Voters have short memories and they ain’t voting him in for a handful of nice games to start the season.

    Same for Milano.

That leaves out Taron Johnson who, in my opinion, warrants strong consideration but I don’t think NCB’s get voted in very often without huge INT numbers.

This is not meant with any offense, but I’m guessing you are on the younger side of things. Do you even have any idea who Butch Byrd is? I could go on, and on, and on, but I think that makes the point.

Haha… well, let’s just say I feel younger than my 48yrs says I am.

shoot, I wasn’t trying to leave out or insult any of the former greats. Butch Byrd, Tony Green, Robert James, George Saimes, Nate Odomes, Leonard Smith, Henry Jones, etc, etc, etc. the Bills have had great DBs in the past. I’m just making the case that White, Poyer and Hyde all deserve to be in the conversation at their respective positions.

In regards to Peters and Glenn… they didn’t stay Bills. I sure wish guys like Peters, Winfield, Lynch, etc all stayed with the Bills and had the kind of sustained success with the Bills that they found on future squads but… they didn’t.

Trust me, I have a well of memories and a lifetime of experience as a Bills fan and all this post was meant to do was to convey my excitement and gratitude for the fact that we finally have a roster full of guys that have “all-time-great” potential written all over them.

I'm not going to put Allen over Kelly and Kemp yet.  I guess he'd be number three although I admired Ferguson's sustainability.

I'm not going to put White over Byrd, Edgerson, Odomes, Winfield, or Clements yet.  He's close to Winfield though.

It's hard to argue with the safeties but Henry Jones and Jarius Byrd were pretty damn good when they were here.

No one is putting Allen over Kelly just yet. But go ahead and stop bangin’ the drum for Kemp over Allen cause that’s a losing argument. Not one thing about Kemp stands out ahead of Allen other than longevity.
again, the pessimist in me is sad that this franchise only has ever had two legit QBs that the rest of the world stands up and fears.

  17. I think we can make the case that there are 4 current players who already belong in the top 3 at their positions on the all-time Bills team.

There are a few other current players who will likely be added to this list but their sample size is too small at this point. (Either for lack of time spent with the Bills, i.e. Stef Diggs, or because they are just coming into their own, i.e. Tre Edmunds, Tyler Bass & Dawson Knox.)

here is my complete list by tiers:

Tier One: (Already top 3 at their respective positions)

    Allen, White, Poyer, Hyde

perhaps Dawkins belongs in there with the above 4 but I think he still needs a breakout year or two first.

Tier Two: (current trajectory has them in Tier One with another excellent season or two)

Diggs, Dawkins, Bass, Edmunds, Milano, Bease

Tier Three: (young bucks who have flashed enough to warrant discussion in another couple years)

Gave Davis, Spencer Brown, Rousseau, Oliver, Taron Johnson.

As I think about all this it pulls me in two directions:

    “Optimist”

wow, what a roster Beane & McD have assembled. Not only players, but coaches as well.

    “Pessimist”

wow, the Bills have not had very many packed rosters with great players in their 61 year history.

Of course, if this team is the one who brings the Lombardi to Orchard Park then all bets are off and all 53 players are elevated to tier one “legendary” status!! Legendary!

  18. Just because Klein hits hard and makes point of impact plays in one game we have people thinking he makes Edmunds expendable.
keep in mind the Bills D gave up their highest passing total of the season yesterday. That’s Mike White and Old-ass Joe Flacco doing that. C’mon people. I thought we were beyond overlooking Edmunds overall value to the Bills. What he brings to this D goes beyond his stats and eye-popping plays. Several of those big passes over the middle (especially the third and longs) would not have happened if 49 is playing yesterday. He’s too long, fast and smart to give that ish up.
